Caroling Event On December 10th we held our Holiday Caroling event at Hillcrest Mable Rose. Family members of our residents and team members sang carols outside the windows. Residents enjoyed the

festivities from inside and held up candles to get into the holiday spirit. Some individuals even dressed up in holiday attire. A huge thank you to all who participated in making special memories for our residents!

A Month in Review St. Nicholas Day is celebrated around the world on December 6th. Every year residents are given treats and a copy of the true story of St. Nicholas. On the eve of St. Nicholas Day, children are supposed to set their shoes out by their beds. In the morning, they would be filled with treats like peppermint candies, apples, oranges and nuts. In a similar fashion, we gave residents a bag of oranges, nuts, Belgian chocolates, peppermint candies and Danish sugar cookies. Throughout December we made fun crafts

that residents could display outside their doors. We made snowmen out of rice and socks, hand painted door hangers and more! We had to be a little more creative this year to spread holiday cheer. We decorated Hillcrest Mable Rose with a staggering 14 Christmas trees! Family members of residents also came and decorated our windows to make our building look more festive. Carol B.’s family even put a full-sized Christmas tree outside of her window!

The tree outside of Carol B's window is beautiful.Doris smiles with her candle.Helen and her family participate in our caroling event.

Dee enjoys listening to the carolers. Doc gets into the holiday spirit. Lucille holds up her festive candle. Annie stands next to one of our Christmas trees.

Teresa shows off her snowman made out of socks and rice.

Marilyn holds up the new door hanger she made.

St. Nicholas Day treats are ready to be given out.
