The Legend January 2021 Volume #287 Issue 103 Page 1 January 2021 To my Kinderhook Elks family, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! What a year 2020 has been. We have learned so many things about ourselves, our family, and the world we live in. We have accomplished so much in the Covid -19 world that it simply amazes me. We were forced to think outside the box, and we did. This Lodge had a drive-through Easter Bunny event, we had food drives to help the community, and we even were involved in the Columbia County Rainbow Hunt. This Lodge and its members are here for not only each other, but for the kids, the Veterans and the community as a whole. We never lost sight of that, and I am so proud to be a part of such a caring group. Thank you to all. Marion Stegmann was a success. Thank you to the members, and all the volunteers from the community. The program has reached many new corners of the world. One woman in Texas sent us a check and informed us how she grew up around here, knew about Marion Stegmann but never knew that her legacy has been car- ried on for so many years. The Scarsdale Wom- en’s Club reached out to us and donated boxes of books for the kids. We are so blessed with a caring community. KJ’s gymnastics, and Our Towne along with the whole Felts family brought us toys and food. It not only the big things it is the little ones that matter too, all the handmade hats and mittens, people giving of their time and talents to help others. So, when the world seems so dark and dismal there are always those that continue to shine their lite for other. There definitely are angels among us. We continue to work within the CDC guide- lines to bring much needed revenue into the Lodge. The philly cheesesteaks went over so well. We now have planned a ham dinner and a friend chicken night. So please if you would like tickets, buy them, or grab some and sell them. We are also planning on fish fry Friday’s for Lent. If you have an idea, please let us know. February is nominations of officers. Please let us know if you wish to help move the Lodge forward for the 2021-2022 Lodge year. Meet- ings are the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 7:30. We would love to see you there. Thank you for everything you do for the Lodge and the community we serve. Happy New Year!!! A huge thank you to Lee and Kate on their work on hide collections that brought in 192 hides. Simply AMAZING. Anne Leiser ER

January 2021

To my Kinderhook Elks family,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! What a year 2020 has

been. We have learned so many things about

ourselves, our family, and the world we live

in. We have accomplished so much in the Covid

-19 world that it simply amazes me. We were

forced to think outside the box, and we did. This

Lodge had a drive-through Easter Bunny event,

we had food drives to help the community, and

we even were involved in the Columbia County

Rainbow Hunt. This Lodge and its members are

here for not only each other, but for the kids, the

Veterans and the community as a whole. We

never lost sight of that, and I am so proud to be

a part of such a caring group. Thank you to all.

Marion Stegmann was a success. Thank you to

the members, and all the volunteers from the

community. The program has reached many

new corners of the world. One woman in Texas

sent us a check and informed us how she grew

up around here, knew about Marion Stegmann

but never knew that her legacy has been car-

ried on for so many years. The Scarsdale Wom-

en’s Club reached out to us and donated boxes

of books for the kids. We are so blessed with a

caring community. KJ’s gymnastics, and Our

Towne along with the whole Felts family brought

us toys and food. It not only the big things it is

the little ones that matter too, all

the handmade hats and mittens, people giving

of their time and talents to help others. So,

when the world seems so dark and dismal

there are always those that continue to shine

their lite for other. There definitely are angels

among us.

We continue to work within the CDC guide-

lines to bring much needed revenue into the

Lodge. The philly cheesesteaks went over so

well. We now have planned a ham dinner

and a friend chicken night. So please if you

would like tickets, buy them, or grab some

and sell them. We are also planning on fish

fry Friday’s for Lent. If you have an idea,

please let us know.

February is nominations of officers. Please let

us know if you wish to help move the Lodge

forward for the 2021-2022 Lodge year. Meet-

ings are the second and fourth Mondays of

the month at 7:30. We would love to see you

there.

Thank you for everything you do for the

Lodge and the community we serve. Happy

New Year!!!

A huge thank you to Lee and Kate on their

work on hide collections that brought in 192

Board of Directors Meeting - January 18th at 7:30pm

To All Members,

Now that 2020 is finally over, it’s time to start thinking

about 2021. I am happy to report that 21-22 dues and

assessments will remain the same. If you are still delin-

quent for 20-21 you’ll be receiving a double billing in

early February stating what you owe. Hopefully, the

few delinquents still out there will realize what they will

be forfeiting if they choose to drop out.

I know some of you will say “I never go to the lodge”

or “never partake in the events” but you need to real-

ize that by just paying your dues you help support all

the community and local efforts we are involved in.

Please consider remaining an Elk and pay your dues

when called upon.

Thanks from the Office of the Secretary.

Happy New

Year!!

How can we not start

off the newsletter with

some new years fun..

Way to go Sharon!

As we have done every month for the past year or so, we give a little extra thank you to

an Elk that has gone above and beyond. This month is someone who is a regular in the

afternoons. In fact, when he isn’t there for a few days in a row we all ask, “Is he ok?”

Whenever a hand is needed and help is asked for in the lounge, he gets up without

hesitation to get the job done. This person is also one of the idea generators for

the newsletter.

This past month he got the unpleasant job of Mr. fixit in the men’s bathroom.

So, it is our pleasure to say thank you for your help to EOM Bill Cooper, aka “Coop”.

Since Coop does not like his picture taken, here is the Elk he submits in the

newsletter comics. We tried Coop, just couldn’t find a pic.

Need a New Year’s resolution? We have you covered!

2021 is here, but there’s still time to make a new year’s resolution.

Elks Lodges bring so much more to their communities than just a building, golf course or

pool. They are places where neighbors come together, families share meals, and children

grow up.

Elks invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and

drug-free, meet the needs of today’s veterans, and improve the quality of life.

When you see our meals posted, consider ordering or you may mail in a monetary donation

at:
