World Read Aloud Day This week in library students will learn about World Read Aloud Day! The creators behind world read aloud day describe it “as an opportunity for people all around the globe to celebrate the joy of reading aloud, and advocate for literacy as a fundamental human right that belongs to everyone.” Students will be encouraged to read aloud on February 5 to join the movement and celebrate reading! Please join us by Reading aloud or having your student read aloud to you! Make sure to post pictures and tag #CCEcougars and #LibrariesinRISD.

Technology Survey for Parents – LAST DAY to take survey! RISD is once again using BrightBytes.net to survey parents, students and teachers about the use of technology in education. Parents can help by taking 5-10 minutes to complete the survey. Each school survey is available for parents on their school's homepage. Parent input is very important for instructional technology planning in RISD. There are no right or wrong answers to the survey questions and everyone will have a different set of responses, depending on their experiences. All survey responses are confidential. CCE Used Book Drive

The Used Book Fair Drive ends today at 3pm and the final classroom totals will be announced next week. THANK YOU! Thank you for your stacks and stacks of donated books, CDs and DVDs! These items will benefit RISD students in so many ways! HELP SORT & BOX ITEMS! On Saturday (2/1) starting at 9.30am we will be up at school sorting and boxing up those stacks and stacks of books and other items. We could use any and all help! If you can give 30 minutes or an hour or two, meet us in the cafeteria. Kindergarten Celebrates 100 Days of School

CCE Multicultural Event February 7 10:00 a.m. – Gym Chinese Lion Dance Everyone is invited to see the professional Chinese Lion Dance perform at our Multicultural Event next Friday.

JJ Pearce Hairspray Musical Mrs. Mixon and Mrs. Alvarado attended the JJ Pearce High school musical that is currently showing called “Hairspray”. Congratulations to our CCE alumni who did a fabulous job performing and singing in this musical production: Abbi Stephenson, Jaxon Williams, Henry Worlein, Corey Smith-Shaw, Claire McCleary, Emma Grace Roth, Ethan Gillis, Genesis Dawson, Harvest Dawson, Alivia Patty, and Riley Baker.
