Poinsettia Sale- We were much lower in our poinsettia sale numbers than we were last year. Invoices for unpaid bills going out. Please look at the Poinsettia sales list (see below) for your individual sales. Please follow up with any of your sales that have not been paid.
Fundraising committee- meeting scheduled for January 23rd to discuss Wine Tour. Scholarship Committee-
o Lisa M. (scholarship chair) motioned that we eliminate the two Sky is the Limit scholarships (one high school girl and one adult college student at $1000 each) and offer the Young Women in Public Affairs and Jane M. Klausman Women in Business scholarships only (both are Zonta International scholarships). We would reward the winners of each scholarship $750 and then pass their applications on to the District level where they have the chance to win again. The motion was seconded by Sylvia K.
o The reasoning behind this was that in the past couple of years we have not received the quality or quantity of applications for the two Sky is the Limit scholarships and feel that since our fundraising is down, it would be best to focus on only two scholarships. The Young Women in Public Affairs and the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business scholarships are supported by Zonta International and all the materials needed are online and ready for us to use. This would take our total money awarded down from $2,250 (2-$1000 and 1-$250) to $1500 (2 scholarships of $750).
o The vote was tabled at the meeting due to not having quorum. An online vote was held later that day and the motion passed.
