CHILDREN’S PROGRAMSFIRST STUDIO: STORY + WORKSHOP (AGES 3+)Children, ages 3 and older, are invited to use their imagination as theyexplore the paintings, sculpture, and architecture of The Kreeger Museum.Each program includes a gallery tour, analysis of works of art, a story, and ahands-on art-making experience in the Kreeger art workshop. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13 (AGES 10+)10 AM–12 NOON RE-CYCLE & CREATE!TEACHING ARTIST: JENEEN PICCUIRROUsing recycled materials, students have the opportunity to create sculpturalpieces that range from collage to installation. Studying works in the collection,students will examine repetition and pattern, and in creating their own works,learn how to change the ways in which a form is visually understood.

SATURDAY, MARCH 12 (AGES 8+)10 AM–12 NOONMICRO AND MACRO DRAWING TEACHING ARTIST: ANKA ZAREMBAUsing magnifying glasses and viewfinders to discover signs of spring on theMuseum grounds, young artists are guided in creating both small sketches andlarge-scale drawings of nature. Participants explore studio tools includingpencils, graphite powder and watercolor washes.

SATURDAY, APRIL 9 (AGES 5+)10 AM–12 NOONCELEBRATE SPRING TEACHING ARTIST: EILEEN WOLDUsing items that remind us of spring – eggs, flowers, and feathers – studentspaint and create works of art that celebrate the changing of the seasons.Experiment and explore the possibilities of everyday materials as they becomepainting tools for small hands.
