Joshua Riker-Fox, MBA Thesis Candidate in Marketing, successfully defended his thesis, “The North America Youth Club Sport Phe-nomena: An Investigation of Club Marketing Practice” on Monday, January 14, 2013. Joshua is super-vised by Dr. Derek Hassay.
Fereshteh Mahmoudian, PhD Candidate in Accounting, passed her candidacy exam on March 25th, 2013. Fereshteh’s research focuses on corporate social responsibility and sustainability issues and she is supervised by Dr. Irene Herremans.
Business Case on Social Return on Investment
Mahrukh Tahir (BComm’14) and Elizabeth Henderson (MBA’12), under the guidenace of Professor Irene Herremans, developed a Social Return on Investment (SROI) model, and created a strategy case based on it, entitled, “Valuing What Matters in a Complete Community”. The case was used in a McKinsey case competion and has been accepted for presentation and inclusion in the proceedings of the ASAC (Administrative Science Association of Canada) Conference in Calgary in June, 2013.
