Merkle Funeral Services has Expanded to into Dundee
Brian Merkle president of Merkle Funeral Services purchased Cover Funeral Home in October and received it operations license November 15th shortly after the previous owner Robert Cover died With this new addition Merkle Funeral Services operates four locations in Monroe County ndash two in Monroe and one in Erie Though Merkle had not initially planned on another location he knew it was the right decision ldquoWe are ready to serve the community of Dundeerdquo Merkle said ldquoMr Cover felt it was important to have a funeral home in Dundee and we will continue that traditionrdquo Amber Miles will manage the Dundee location She joined the Merkle Funeral Service Team as a licensed funeral director in August of 2017 The newest location will offer the same services available at the three other locations including grief therapy Merkle staff members have met with members of the Dundee Senior Center and a local church to work on some of the community outreach components of the business One of the most noticeable changes residents in Dundee will notice is that the funeral director does not live right next door ldquoWe are there seven days a week but it will be a little differentrdquo Merkle said Congratulations Brian and Merkle Funeral Services staff

If you are looking to earn your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification or would just like to take the certification course for professional development Monroe County Community College will offer the 12-week class starting Monday February 18th The cost for non-members is $1200 and the cost for a member is $495 Information for the class can be found in Monroe County Community Collegersquos Lifelong Learning Catalog at wwwmonroecccedu Individuals interested in taking the class will need to register with MCCC by February 8 2019 and it is required that we have five students

Welcome HaileeWe would like to welcome Hailee Rensi to our Chamber Team She will be our Engagement Manager starting January 2 2019 Hailee has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Marketing from Siena Heights University She is a lifelong Monroe County resident and most recently worked at Four Star Greenhouse in Carleton as an Ecommerce Marketing Coordinator She also has two associate degrees from Monroe County Community College and worked as a Student Assistant while attending MCCC We are very excited to have her at The Chamber
