Air Cargo Africa 2017, the Bi-Annual conference & exhibition was held for three days from 21-23 February at the Casino Convention Resort, Emperors Palace in the Johannesburg with the objective of engaging the global air cargo community to explore and strengthen networking corridors with the African Conti-nent. Africa is at the apex for being increasingly known as an emerging market and many that have been in the business for years have recog-nized this event as a platform for effective networking, turning this market into an exciting and absorbing frontier for new opportunities. The event garnered a great support from the City of Ekurhuleni, which is home to the busiest airport in Africa, O.R. Tambo International airport which is envisioned to be built into an aerotropolis that will define the future of aviation for Africa.

AFFIRMMED FOOTPRINTS IN KANPUR Kanpur is the biggest city of the state of Uttar Pradesh and is the main center of commercial and industrial activities. It was formerly known as the Manchester of India. Kanpur is a major center for the leather and the textile industries, and leather tanneries form the industrial base of the city forming the bulk of the exports. Apart from these, other industries include fertilizers, plastics, two wheelers, chemicals, detergent, food packaging and jewelry making. Kanpur is also an important sugar producing center in the country. The Central government of the country has proclaimed Kanpur the “Town of Export Excellence.” This means more subsidies and incentives for exporters. There is no doubt that Kanpur is fast developing as the major economic hub of North India, and FL India have positioned themselves to capitalise on the exponential growth of this city in the coming years, having dealt with many textile & manufacturing companies during the last year.

These regions are promising in the world economy where Jordan’s economy has been growing at an annual rate of 7% after the accession of King Abdulla II to the throne in 1999. While in Iraq, an initial wave of foreign investment is helping to spur economic activity, particularly in energy, construction, and retail sectors. The economy of Israel is technologically advanced by global standards and the major sectors include industrial manufacturing and High Tech industries. The economic dynamism of Israel has attracted attention from international business leaders, and the bi-lateral cooperation between Israel and India is at an all time high.

SWIPE TELECOMMUNICATIONS SIGNED WAREHOUSE AGREEMENT IN THREE LOCATIONSSwipe Telecom India Pvt. Ltd. manufactures tablet computers, and is a California and Pune-based startup. Swipe sells android based tablet PCs and smartphones/tablets at affordable prices in India. They are sold under the brand name of ‘SWIPE’ and they also have a branding agreement with MTV. Swipe has a very strong network of 600+ support centers across the country and is able to handle post sales service requests efficiently.

FL this month opened a Warehouse agreement with this innovative company growing through Niche marketing technique. FL will provide 3PL services for Swipe at three locations – Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.

A pioneer in leasing office space and developing integrated office parks, the group has delivered 28 MN SFT of commercial properties. In 2012, Embassy Group and Blackstone entered into a joint venture to form Embassy Office Parks - an entity aimed at creating word class office spaces and building business communities. This portfolio includes Embassy Golf Links, Embassy Manyata Business Park, Embassy TechVillage and Embassy TechZone that houses internationally renowned corporates.
