Ray Gordon is a brave kid. He wants to try out all of the scariest rides at Horror-
Land. Unfortunately his brother, Brandon, is scared of everything - loud noises,
roller coasters, and even the wooden dummy named Slappy that Ray gets from
Jonathan Chiller's gift shop. There's something not quite right about the evil look
on the puppet's face. Ray usually enjoys scaring Brandon but his parents made
him promise to stop it if he wants to have his huge New Year's Eve party. Which is
why it is so strange that things keep happening to his younger brother.
But if Ray isn't the one behind these nasty pranks, who could it be? Is it possible
that those words he read really did bring Slappy to life?
What was your favorite part?
Amanda- “I like how the main character (Brandon) changes throughout the story,
and the very unexpected ending!”
Lonnie– “I like how scary the book was, and the character Slappy.”
Sam- “My favorite part was Slappy coming back to life after being hit by a garbage
truck, creepy.”
Goosebumps HorrorLand: Slappy New Year!
In drum circle, not only do participants focus on
making music, they focus on listening and prac-
ticing basic playing techniques. Playing tech-
niques can be used to help work on different fine
and gross motor skills, while focusing on keeping
the beat steady. The group learns about dynam-
ics by following Kevin and varying their volume,
learning about rhythm and by improvisation.
Josh attends our PH pro-
gram and has done a fan-
tastic job over the last few
years. He is always in a
good mood, whether he is
talking about his favorite
video game, the book he is
currently reading, or just
regular josh banter, he is
always a delight. On top of
being a Peaceful Fruits em-
ployee and being a part of
the 2641 cleaning crew,
Josh recently accepted a
position as housekeeping
in one of our Blick build-
ings. Thanks for the laughs,
sarcasm, and hard work
Josh! Keep up the good
work!

This month, Stephanie P. and Susan H. have given us
a review of their experience at Applebee’s!
Stephanie had the Garlic Burger with Fries, with a
Pink Lemonade, while Susan had the Boneless
Wings with fries and an ice water.
They agreed that the restaurant itself was very clean
in both the dining area and the bathroom, and that
their server was very nice.
Susan said that her meal was very good, and that
the Boneless wings were crispy and the fries were
very great.
Stephanie said that the garlic burger was well done,
and had the right amount of garlic, making it taste
great! The fries were the ideal level of crunchiness.
Ultimately, both reviewers were happy with their
visits, gave it 5 stars, and promise that they tipped
well!
