it, which we will give out in return for your generosity and donating a gift.

Please bring the presents in from 1st December to 12th December. Please wrap your presents with a small card on the front stating whether it is for a boy or a girl

and for which age group the present is suitable.

Thank you very much from the 2014 JSC Reps

CHRISTMAS CRAFT Nichole Clifford has been working very hard gathering ideas and materials for Christmas Craft. Hundreds of snowmen and calendars have already waltzed home, clutched in excited and proud little hands. Thank you Nichole, and your merry band of cutters, sorters and threaders. JUNIOR ATHLETICS EXPERIENCE: Events for Kalinda Primary School’s ‘Junior Athletics Experience’ commence at 9:25AM

this Friday. Including sprints, high-jump, discus, shot-put, vortex, long-jump, team-sports, hurdles and ‘the marathon (i.e.: 1 lap

of the oval!), each event will last for 15 minutes. Each group will also have a 15 minute recovery ‘station’ in their timetab le.

Recess will be at the usual time of 11:00am – 11:30am and events will recommence at 11:40am to allow for some re-organising

(if required!). Final events will finish at 12:40 after which some icy-cold refreshments may be available ;) Maps and timetables

will be available from the foyer on the day.

LEVEL 3 AND 4 BIKE-CONTROL COURSES: Thank you to the students and families of Levels 3 & 4 for the fantastic uptake of

this week’s Bike-Control courses. No class has had more than 2 or 3 students without ‘wheels’ (and the reasons for those few

have been compelling). In this week’s sessions, Kate Perry (one of Australia’s most promising, elite ‘up-and-coming’ road racing

athletes) spoke to the Level 4’s about how to safely and effectively walk with your bike when required, mounting and

dismounting, hard-and-soft braking, bike setup and tips for helmet fitting. There was a litle bit of on-0bike content as well, but

there will be far more of that next week (…the level 3’s had to put up with me, but the content was the same!). SO – Please

don’t forget that there is one more week to go, and that students are therefore required to bring a working bicycle AND HELMET

to school next Monday December 8 (Level 4) and Tuesday December 9 (Level 3).

OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS TO TRIAL FOR TEAM VIC STATE TEAMS (2015):

Opportunities for emerging talented sporting students to participate in Team Vic State Teams will

again occur in 2015. Click here to view the draft 2015 School Sport Australia calendar on the SSV

website. There is already a small amount of information also available relating to 2015 teams. SSV

plans to have all information on the selection process for all 2015 national events to be available on

the Team Vic page of the School Sport Victoria website at the beginning of Term 1, 2015.

2015 AUSTRALIAN GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS: The 2015 Australian Gymnastics Championships will be held at

Hisense Arena on: Tuesday 19 – Friday 22 May (Men's Artistic and Women's Artistic) and Tuesday 26 – Friday 29 May

(Rhythmic, Trampoline and Acrobatics). For further information (and to book), please see (or click)

OSHClub News Before School / After School Care Program Week 8– Term 4 – (24th November – 28th November)

Program Update

Konnichiwa! As the year is coming to an end we are beginning to say farewell to many of our regular OSHClub children. We have also been welcoming some very warm weather! Please remember your hats and any special sunscreen! We have been enjoying many Christmas activities including colour-ins, drawing, stories and role plays. There are many other child-initiated activities such as drawing “My Little Pony”, Pokémon cards and drawing, recycled materials building and construction, dress-ups, and painting. With the warmer weather many of our children have been venturing outside more often to play on the various playgrounds, play cricket, soccer, and two-square/down ball. We have also been enjoying some delicious seasonal fruit and vegetables including snow peas and mangoes! Yum! We look forward to spending the rest of the year with as many children as possible! Kind regards, Jeanette Lea, Kalli Boag and Monali Shah

CENTREPAY DEDUCTIONS

(For families who receive a Centrelink Payment) Centrepay is a free, direct bill-paying service offered to customers receiving Centrelink payments. Through Centrepay you can choose to pay school fees by having a regular amount deducted from your payments and transferred electronically to Kalinda Primary School. There is no charge for using this service. There is a minimum payment amount for deductions to Kalinda Primary School of $20.00 per fortnight. You can apply for Centrepay deductions by completing the Centrepay deduction form at Kalinda Primary School. You will need:

your Customer Reference Number (CRN)

the amount you want deducted from your payments each fortnight

the payments from which you want the deductions to be paid

the payday that you want the deduction to start. Centrelink will send you a letter confirming the details of your deductions. Centrelink will pay your deductions to Kalinda Primary School on the same day you receive your Centrelink payments. You can change, suspend or cancel your deductions at any time:

online at humanservices.gov.au/onlineservices,

by calling Centrelink

completing a Centrepay deduction form at a Centrelink Service Centre. Centrelink will send you a letter and also advise Kalinda Primary School of your changes, suspensions or cancellation. You can make the following changes to your deductions:

suspend your deduction amount temporarily for a maximum period of 13 weeks

request a future end date when deductions will automatically cease

nominate or change a target amount so deductions will automatically stop when that target amount has been reached

change the deduction amount you are paying to a new amount or change the amount temporarily

cancel your deduction at any time. You may not always be able to deduct the full amount requested if your Centrelink payment:

is reduced because of income or earnings

has been reduced or suspended because of a non-payment period, or

is reduced because other deductions have been made, such as overpayments—leaving you with an insufficient amount left for your Centrepay deduction.

If this happens you will need to contact the Business Manager at Kalinda Primary School on 9876 3289 to make other arrangements. BOOKPACKS Book packs can be collected from the office on Monday 8

th, Tuesday 9
