world• Bad incarceration laws• Police are allowed to detain suspects for a

maximum 23 days without being charged after an arrest• can then detain them for another 23 each time

they are re-arrested• Just behave yourself and make sure you don't

import anything that could be a controlled substance or weapon in Japan

• Vicks inhalers are banned in Japan• Any blade longer than 2.6 inches is considered a

sword

• Visitors to Japan often comment on how polite the Japanese people are, but rudeness is punishable.• Don’t drink and bike!• Riding a bicycle while using an umbrella is illegal• Don’t make it look like you might be shoplifting, it

could end up really bad, even if you didn’t steal• Cameras and recording devices must make a noise

to indicate recording or you will be fined
