Traditional Japanese Culture Experience Corner <image> Popular events are held each day on the airside after outbound passport control where airport users can experience Japanese culture and take photos of the event. Events in February will include making origami, Ukiyo-e printing, Kimono dress up, Samurai armor as well as ninja outfits for children. Monkiri Asobi Papercraft Monkiri Asobi emerged from the culture of the ordinary people in the Edo period. A sheet of paper is folded and cut to a model, and when it is opened up, presents a beautiful shape! Monkiri Asobi has continued to evolve to its present day form and can be made into traditional Japanese shapes, animals and even flora. Airport customers can watch a demonstration by an instructor or even try their hand at it. <image> Beautiful Obis Used in Japanese Weddings An exhibition of kimono obis tied in styles that resemble various flowers. A display of traditional Japanese wedding attire featuring a wedding kimono worn by the bride and the formal black- crested haori and hakama worn by the groom, as well as obis tied in shapes to resemble the flowers of spring.
