By far the easiest way to a trouble-free installation is to carefully note down where your previous pickup was connected to, and use this a a guide for correct installation on your instrument. Polarity All our Jazz Bass series pickups use a reverse-wound neck pickup for noise-cancelling operation. We use the following polarity and winding direction. - Neck: North Pole Up / Counter-Clockwise Wind. - Bridge: South Pole Up / Clockwise Wind Standard Installation In most Jazz Bass instruments the yellow or white “Hot” wire from each pickup is soldered to the middle lug of the potentiometer that will control the pickup’s volume. The “Ground wire” (black) from each pickup is soldered to the back of the corresponding volume potentiometer. Capacitor and Potentiometer Values We design all our Jazz pickups to perform with the most common industry configurations - 250k Audio Pots and 0.047uf capacitors. Using smaller cap values, such as 0.01uF or 0.022uF, will make it easier to accurately control the amount of treble that is dialled out, but with lower maxi- mum settings. Tonerider Jazz Bass Wiring
