Adoption of an Amendment to the Official Plan for the City of BramptonConformity with the Provincial Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe
TAKE NOTICE that Brampton Council passed By-law 337-2012 on November 28, 2012 to adoptOfficial Plan Amendment OP2006-074, under section 17 of the Planning Act (File G65).
The Official Plan Amendment is exempt from approval by the Region of Peel and the decision ofCouncil is final if a notice of appeal is not received on or before the last day for filing such notice.
Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a decision of Council to the OntarioMunicipal Board (OMB). A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association orgroup. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member ofthe association or the group on its behalf.
Acomplete copy of the Official Plan Amendment is available for inspection during regular officehours at the Planning, Design and Development Department, Brampton City Hall, 3 Floor, 2Wellington Street West, Brampton or on the City of Brampton website at www.brampton.ca. Anexplanation of the purpose and effect is provided below.
To appeal this amendment to the Ontario Municipal Board, a notice of appeal must be filed withthe City Clerk at the address below, no later than January 2, 2013. (City Hall will be closedduring the period December 25, 2012 to January 1, 2013). A copy of an appeal form is availablefrom the OMB website at www.omb.qov.on.ca or by contacting the City Clerk.
The Notice of Appeal must:(1) be in writing; and,(2) set out the reasons for the appeal, and the specific part of the proposed official plan
amendment to which the appeal applies; and,(3) be accompanied by the fee prescribed under the Ontario Municipal Board Act in the amount of
$125.00 payable by certified cheque or money order to the Minister of Finance, Province ofOntario.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before theby-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting orwritten submissions to the Council or, in the opinion of the Ontario Municipal Board, there werereasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
Given that this amendment affects lands City-wide, the lands may be the subject of an applicationunder the Planning Act for an amendment to the Official Plan, Zoning By-law, Minor Variance,Consent or for approval of a Plan of Subdivision. Purpose and Effect:
The purpose of Official Plan Amendment OP2006-074 is to bring Brampton's Official Plan intoconformity with the Province's Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe in accordancewith the Planning Act and Places to Grow Act. This Amendment supplements the City's firstGrowth Plan conformity Amendment, OP2006-043.
The key components of this Amendment include:
Changing, on the City Concept map, the "Intensification Corridors" along Heritage Roadsouth of Steeles Avenue to "Secondary Intensification Corridors";Changing, on the City Concept map, the "Intensification Corridors" along Steeles Avenuefrom east of Mississauga Road to Heritage Road and along Mississauga Road fromHighway 407 to north of Steeles Avenue to "Primary Intensification Corridors";Changing, on the City Concept map, the 'Transit Supportive Node" located aroundSteeles Avenue and Mississauga Road to "MajorTransit Station Area";Adding policies on conservation and cultural heritage;Introducing "Major Transit Station Areas" to identify the areas around existing or futurehigher order transit stations and adding policies to guide their height and density;Defining lands and uses comprising employment areas, including ancillary uses andclarifying the effect of the conversion policies on these uses;Relocating the Central Area section in the Official Plan and positioning the "UrbanGrowth Centre" as part of the Central Area; and,Updating policies on natural heritage.

CITY OF BRAMPTON PLANNING AREA
Purpose:
The purpose of this amendment is to bring the Cityof BramptonOfficial Plan into
conformitywith the Growth Plan forthe Greater Golden Horseshoe in
accordance with subsection 26(1)(a)(i) of the Planning Act. RSO, 1990, c.P.13
and subsection 12 of the Places to Grow Act. S.O., 2005, c.13.
Location:
The lands subject to this amendment include all of the lands within the City of
Brampton.
Amendments and Policies Relative Thereto:
3.1 The document known as the Official Plan of the City of Brampton Planning
Area is hereby amended:
(1) By changing on Schedule"1" City Concept, thereto, the
"Intensification Corridors" located along Heritage Road south
of Steeles Avenue to "Secondary Intensification Corridors"
and the "Intensification Corridors" located along Steeles
Avenue from east of Mississauga Road to Heritage Road,
and along Mississauga Road from Highway 407 to north of
Mississauga Road, to"Primary Intensification Corridors", allas shown on Schedule "A" to this amendment;
(2) By changing on Schedule "1"City Concept, thereto, the
Transit Supportive Node" located around Steeles Avenue
and Mississauga Road to "MajorTransit Station Area" as
shown on Schedule A to this amendment.
(3) By deleting" in Part 1—The General Plan. Section 2.1—
Physical and Environmental Considerations, thereto, the last
sentence of the first paragraph and replacing it with the

node will have its own development parameters in terms of
