AVID Graduates/JCCC Foundation Scholarship Fall, 2015

JCCCs Foundation has made available funding specifically for Olathe AVID graduates who will be attending JCCC the fall immediately following high school graduation. The total award amount for the JCCC Scholarship is:

equivalent to approximately half the required tuition/fees to attend JCCC for an AA (Associate of Arts Degree) OR

equivalent to approximately half the required tuition/fees to complete a certificate program awarded by credit hour AND

based on available funding

Required enrollment hours - Minimum: 9; Maximum: full time JCCC enrollment

Deadline to apply: May 1, 2015

Awarding of the scholarship(s) will be based on the criteria noted below: 1) The number of AP, weighted grade, and/or dual credit classes successfully completed; 2) Students graduating GPA weighted and unweighted; 3) Students years in AVID; 4) Students ACT composite score; 5) Students financial need documented by students AVID counselor; 6) Quality of students essay; 7) Recommendation of the students AVID elective teacher.

1. Application form. 2. 250 word essay describing how AVID has contributed to the students ability to fulfill

his/her future goals. 3. Copy of high school transcript with GPA 4. Evidence/documentation of JCCC enrollment for fall, 2015. 5. Recommendation letter from students AVID elective teacher.
