OBJECTIVE
• ANALYZE LIGHTING USAGE IN JCFA• IMPROVE LIGHTING EFFECIENY• PROVIDE RETROFITMENT PLAN• CREATE DATA FOR R.O.I. OF NEW LIGHTS• PROVIDE DEBULBING SCENARIO• IMPROVE OVERALL EFFECTIVENESS OF AUDIT
![Page 4: JCFA AUDIT revised](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022070517/58cf6e481a28abe6688b4cc5/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
JCFA CURRENTLY
• Due to inconsistent schedules of the Fine Arts programs lighting cost was based on a standardized usage rate
• 10 hour day, 5 days a week, 4 weeks a month, 12 months a year:
TOTAL WATTAGE
52,670
/1000 X 10KWH
HoursX .08
CostPer KWH
= $42.13 DAILY = $10,112.64 ANNUAL

ASSUMPTIONS
• ASSUMPTION 1: DEBULB
• ASSUMPTION 2: RETROFIT
• MASTER PLAN• ADDITIONAL TIPS
![Page 6: JCFA AUDIT revised](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022070517/58cf6e481a28abe6688b4cc5/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Debulbing
• Debulbing is the process of taking out 1 bulb from a ballast to save money on energy costs
• Most ballasts are designed to run on 1 less bulb than full capacity, saving energy while producing less light
• (N-1) = any ballast at full capacity (N) with one bulb subtracted (-1)
![Page 7: JCFA AUDIT revised](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022070517/58cf6e481a28abe6688b4cc5/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
DEBULBING
• DEBULBING IN JCFA NOT LOGICAL
- Building construction based on natural light from windows
- No consistency in Lighting Power Density throughout the day: impossible to measure accurately
![Page 8: JCFA AUDIT revised](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022070517/58cf6e481a28abe6688b4cc5/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
DEBULBING CONT.
- Aesthetically unappealing in most visited FC building by public
- Only possible debulb is classrooms which already have dimmer capabilities
- F32/t8 WITH 3 BULBS- F17/t8 WITH 3 BULBS
![Page 9: JCFA AUDIT revised](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022070517/58cf6e481a28abe6688b4cc5/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
RETROFITMENT
- Retrofitting is the best plan for JCFA for long-term investment and energy savings
![Page 10: JCFA AUDIT revised](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022070517/58cf6e481a28abe6688b4cc5/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)

LONG TERM PLAN• Replace ALL incandescent lights immediately, 2.5 year turn around. Current IC
replacement cost $5-20- 132 IC lights, 26w LED $56.25 each x 132 = cost $1,800 - Debulb classrooms depending on room usage, within regulations, to save
energy ($)• Use the money saved after 2.5 years to fund LED can lights, Current can lights
replacement cost $3-12- 265 Can lights, LR6 $81.25 each x 265= $21,531• Price will drop on studio lights in 3 years allowing for cost efficient upgrade • HYPOTHETICAL savings of all replacements combined: -ANNUAL: $4,552!!!! • The price of replacing current bulbs will shorten the return on investment
(R.O.I.) when taking into consider the amount of bulbs used per year
![Page 19: JCFA AUDIT revised](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022070517/58cf6e481a28abe6688b4cc5/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
ADDITIONAL TIPS
• Spread energy awareness!
• Encourage teachers to use dimmer lights and debulb offices if possible!
• Turn off lights when not is NOT IN USE!
