Power and Associates 2011 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. SM e study is based on feedback from more than 73,000 new-vehicle owners and lessees after 90 days of ownership. e APEAL Study examines how satisfying a new vehicle is to own and drive, and is just one part of the quality and satisfaction equation. e other part is the Initial Quality Study, which analyzes owner-reported quality after 90 days of new-vehicle ownership (see page 2). Equus achieves the highest score among 200 models in the APEAL Study In industry terminology, the APEAL Study measures “things gone right.” In the 2011 APEAL Study, owners provided detailed evaluations of 80 vehicle attributes across 10 categories: Vehicle Exterior Vehicle Interior Storage/Space Audio/Entertainment/ Navigation Seats Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Driving Dynamics Engine/Transmission Visibility and Driving Safety Fuel Economy e Hyundai Equus is the highest-performing model in the 2011 APEAL Study—scoring 904 on a 1,000-point scale. In the J.D. Power and Associates 2011 Initial Quality StudySM (IQS), the Hyundai Equus ranks second in the Large Premium Car

segment. With the fourth-highest score among more than 200 models in the 2011 study, Equus is among the industry top fi ve in initial quality.

� e Equus is the highest-performing all-new model in the 2011 Initial Quality Study.

� e Initial Quality Study is used as a benchmark for new-vehicle quality by manufacturers worldwide. � roughout the years, initial quality has been shown to be an excellent predictor of long-term durability, which directly impacts consumer purchase decisions.

Compared with the Large Premium Car segment average, Equus performs particularly well in seven of the eight categories measured in the IQS, most notably in Vehicle Interior, HVAC, and Seats.
