Human Resources Intern Revision Date: 08/17/2016 Page 1 of 2 JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Human Resources Intern Department: Human Resources JOB PURPOSE The Human Resources Intern, reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, participates in a variety of activities related to the Recruiting, Onboarding, Training, Compliance, and Administrative functions of the Human Resources Department. This position also has the opportunity to lead and support Human Resources on a variety of departmental projects and participate in other activities as required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assists in initiating recruiting campaigns via various social media outlets, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Assists in looking beyond job applications to find the best candidates for Lucernex through sourcing candidates. Calls prospective candidates, conduct phone screens, schedule interviews, etc. Assists in managing training opportunities for new hires and ongoing training for current staff. Assists in monitoring training effectiveness and evaluating feedback. Assemble and audit employee files and records. Participates in new hire orientation and collection of paperwork. Schedules and participates in 30-day Onboarding Check-ins with new employees. Coordinate company events, including community outreach events. Lead and assist the Human Resources Department in various special projects to support compliance requirements and departmental goals and objectives. Maintains HR department employee records, file systems, and purging schedule; ensuring that all employee files are up-to-date and all-inclusive. Enters data into Human Resources related databases to ensure all employee records are current, as necessary. Provides assistance on other ad hoc assignments/projects as necessary. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/ Required: 4 year post secondary education, or equivalent experience. Licensure/

Credentials

Required: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Business, or

related field

Knowledge/Skills

Required:

Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources with a passion for learning

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Excellent interpersonal skills

Strong computer proficiency, with the ability to quickly learn new software/technologies.

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
