EntertainmentisredefiningtheiconicLasVegasskylinewithTheLINQ,anopen-airretail,dining,andentertainmentdistrict,anchoredbytheworld‘stallestobserva-tionwheel,knownastheHighRoller.Toppingoutat550feet,theHighRollerwilleclipseboththeLondonEyeandSingaporeFlyer.Thewheelwillfeature28glass-enclosedcabinsthatwillunveilbroadviewsofthefamedresortcityinthe30minutesittakestocompleteonefullrevolution.Theconstructionisunder
wayusingthreeJ.D.Neuhaus50tonneProfiSeriesairhoiststopositioneachofthetemporary40tonneradialstruts(”spokes“)intoplace.Withtheaidoftheseradialstrutstheycangetthebigroundmetalpieceformedtoaperfectcircle.Oncethatisdonetheywillstartstringingcablesfromthehubtotheaxletoactlikespokes.Thetemporarystrutswillthenberemoved.TheLINQisscheduledtomakeitsdebutinlate2013.

AtthebeginningofAugust,produc-tionbeganinthenewhall,whichwascompletedinJuly.Thehighlighthereisanextremelyhigh-performanceoxy/plasmatorchcuttingmachinewithaboremillingfacilityandauto-maticslagdisposal(lessdowntime),whichimpresseswithitshighoutputcapability.Furthermore,ergonomicweldingstationsfeaturingstate-of-
the-artextractiontechnologyarealsolocatedinthe700m²hall.Energy-savingLEDlightingalsocontributestoprotectingtheenvironment.Thehallisequippedwithtwocranesystemswithaload-bearingcapacityof5and10tonnes,whichareintegratedinthein-houselogisticssystem.Withtheconstructionofthenewhall,spacecapacitiesofthedispatchand
incominggoodsareascannowalsobeexpanded.ForManagingDirectorWilfriedNeuhaus-Galladé,allthesemeasuresrepresentafurtherinvest-mentinthefutureinordertoservemarketsevenmorepromptly,whilealsomaintainingcapacityonhandforfurthermarketsandcustomers.
