Burdwan introduced the JE vaccine in RI in 2009 Feb,about 2 and years late with the coverage of 20%,following which it stopped. Then it was re-started in April 2009. It continued fromApril 2009 - March 2010 with the monthly coverage withwide variations ranging from 2.7% - 48%. The yearlycoverage for 2009- 10 was only 11.7%. In the financial year April Mar 2010 -11, the monthlycoverage dropped further and varied from zero for 7

months to coverage with wide variations ranging from0.1% - 1.2%. In the financial year 2011-12, no coverage reports havebeen received by the state/ national level even afterfrequent reminders to the districts.

Birbhum

Birbhum introduced JE vaccine in RI in 2009-10April, 2 years late in Feb 2009 with the monthlycoverage of 20% and then 0 coverage in Marchand re-started in April 2009 10 with the monthly

coverage with wide variations from 2% - 22.8%. The total yearly coverage was 9%

In the financial year April 2010 March11, thecoverage was zero for 6 months with a poor

coverage in the rest of the months ranging from0.3 10%. The total yearly coverage was as low as1.4%

No coverage reports have been received from April

2011 even after frequent reminders.

West Medinapur

JE vaccine was introduced in RI in April 2009-10with wide variations in the coverage ranging from0.1% - 40.8% with a yearly coverage of 15.4%

Then in the financial year 2010-11, JE vaccine wasadministered April Nov after which the coverageshows zero coverage for reasons unknown. Themonthly coverage ranged from 5.3% - 30% and theyearly coverage was 12.5%

No reports have been received since Dec 2010onwards even after frequent reminders andvaccine having been supplied by the MoHFW
