costs should be budgeted for?
• Calculate total gift aid (grants and scholarships)• Is the gift aid renewable for all four years?
• Subtract total gift aid from “costs you will pay” to compare your net cost at each school per year• How long do most students take to graduate?
Example of calculating net cost
School A School B
Tuition $20,000 $25,000
Room & Board $10,000 $10,000
