Yahweh Sabaoth the One Who is going to prevail in every battle! Definition army, war, warfare, master of legions

Sabaoth (sab eh oth) is the transliteration of the Hebrew word tsebha'oth, meaning "hosts," "armies" (angel armies).

TRANSLITERATION: A translator takes text in one language and converts it to the

equivalent text in another language. In the case of biblical translation, a translator takes

the ancient Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic text, which is unreadable to the majority of

Christians, and converts it to the equivalent text in English (or the common tongue for

another culture).

These definitions basically refer to military terms and describe for us the fact that Yahweh is master/ruler of the universe. Some scholars add that Yahweh is Master over chaos in the heavenlies. STRONGS # 4519 (G) = appointed time, army, battle, company, host, service, soldiers, waiting upon

STRONGS #6635 (H) tsaba'; a mass of persons (or figuratively, things), especially reg. Organized for war (an army); by implication, a campaign, literally or

figuratively (specifically, hardship, worship) -- appointed time, army, company, host, service, soldiers, battle, combat, trained, war, warfare.

This name is considered a compound name because there is always a descriptive word used with the name LORD (YHWH).

This name is 1st seen in 1 Samuel 1:3 it is not used in the 1st 5 books of the bible. The prophet Samuel is the 1st to use this descriptive name; YHWH Sabaoth = the Master of legions (armies), Master of the underworld.

The name Yahweh Sabaoth inspires confidence: 1 Kings 18: 11-15. Verse 15 “I will stand before the LORD of Hosts.

He is our Refuge and Strength: Psalm 46:1, 7-11

Let’s take a closer look at the prophetic book of Haggai.

Haggai 2:1-9

In the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the word of the LORD

came by Haggai the prophet, saying: ‚Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of

Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest,

and to the remnant of the people, saying: ‘Who is left among you who saw this

temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, is

this not in your eyes as nothing? ‘Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the LORD;

‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you

people of the land,’ says the LORD, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the LORD

of hosts. ‘According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of

Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’ ‚For thus says the LORD

of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and

dry land; ‘and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All

Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘The silver

is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter

temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘And in this place

I will give peace,’ says the LORD of hosts.‛

1. The Day of the LORD = the time of His coming back 2. His Spirit is with us today (remains), do not fear! (verse 5) 3. He says to be strong and to work. (verse 4) 4. He gives us special empowerment: Haggai 2:4

Jehovah Sabaoth will shake all nations; everything that can be shaken will be shaken. We are seeing this now upon the earth. His soon coming is evident, discern the times and watch because your redemption draweth nigh.
