Jerusalem, the Great Whore(of Revelation)

Who is "Babylon, the great" who is called "the mother of harlots" inRevelation? This should NOT be a mystery to any honest student ofscripture and particularly of prophecy. Certainly, upon her is thename "Mystery Babylon," but her identity and her status in scriptureis only a mystery to the WORLD. The prophets of OLD and of NEWTESTAMENT all clearly identified the "great city" who sits uponmany waters clearly and without ambiguity.

"The Great City."

That the WHORE is a city, there can certainly be no doubt after

reading Revelation. The Harlot woman, who rides "the beast" intopower in the end times is called, "the GREAT" city numerous times:

Revelation 17: 5 "Babylon The Great"

Revelation 17: 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city,which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Revelation 18: 2 "Babylon the great is fallen..."

Revelation 18: 10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment saying,Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour isthy judgment come.

Revelation 18: 18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burningsaying, What city is like unto this great city!

Revelation 18: 19 ... saying Alas, alas that great city...

Revelation 18: 21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a greatmillstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shallthat great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no moreat all.

Now, what MORE testimony do we need from the writer of the bookof Revelation that the WHORE, BABYLON is a CITY, a GREAT CITYor THE GREAT CITY? How many times did the author have to SAY"the great city" before modern eschatologists pick up on this one fact?Evidently, a LOT because today I have heard so many theories about

WHO this Great WHORE is and almost NONE of thoseinterpretations point to a CITY at all! Yet, we do know that this is a

CITY, otherwise the writer of Revelation was just MAD!

What's far more revealing about the depths of modern deception onthis subject is the writer clearly IDENTIFIES this "great" and"famous" city clearly. He does this first in Revelation 18 verse 24...

24 And in her was found the blood ofprophets, and of saints, and of allthat were slain upon the earth

In what city can be found "the blood" of ALL the prophets who wereever slain on the earth? From the early times of the prophets, all the

way up to Christ himself? There is ONLY one city in history thatholds this DISTINCTION. None other than JERUSALEM!

Of NO OTHER city can it be said that "in her" was found the blood ofthe prophets! Christ HIMSELF bore this agonizing truth out!

Luke 13:34

34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest

the prophets, and stonest them that aresent unto thee; how often would I havegathered thy children together, as a hen

doth gather her brood under her wings,and ye would not!

Now, either Jerusalem is the "city that kills the prophets" or JesusChrist was WRONG (and a deceiver, deliberately trying to steer usaway from prophecies his disciples would later utter concerning "thegreat city" that has "the blood of the prophets" in her).

The WORLD is IGNORING clear scriptures which IDENTIFY thisHARLOT CITY. One has to WONDER about this. Can they really be

this stupid? I don't think so. The truth of the scripture on this matterand the clear warning of ALL the prophets (both old and newtestament) is deliberately BEING BURIED by deceivers! To what end

we can only conjecture, but we DO KNOW that NO ONE can read thescriptures and FAIL to identify this HARLOT CITY!

Yet, there's even MORE evidence!

Revelation 11:8

King James Version (KJV)

8 And their dead bodies shall lie in thestreet of the great city, which spirituallyis called Sodom and Egypt, where alsoour Lord was crucified.

It can be NOTHING LESS than either ASTOUNDING or HIGHLYSUSPICIOUS that Bible Scholars all over the globe can read the above

verse and not know that it is speaking of JERUSALEM! We do knowwhere and by what city "our Lord" was crucified! There is NOMYSTERY here. "The great city" of Revelation (Babylon the great,that great city) has been CLEARLY identified as Jerusalem! Yet,there is even MORE evidence!

In the above verses it says that this great city is "spiritually calledSodom and Egypt." Are there any scriptures that give Jerusalem the"spiritual" name of Egypt and Sodom? I think you will be furtherastonished by JUST HOW MANY such scriptures exist! What willastound you more is that Bible SCHOLARS are AWARE of it!

Isaiah 10: 24

11 Shall I not, as I have done untoSamaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalemand her idols?

Now, the above verse does NOT call Jerusalem "Egypt" or "Sodom" itcalls her "Samaria." Yet it establishes a principle that God shallhandle Jerusalem with the SAME punishments and the same

judgments that he has handled ALL PAGAN CITIES. This is howJerusalem takes on the "Spiritual name" of Egypt and of Sodom.

Isaiah 19: 23- 25

23 In that day shall there be a highway

out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrianshall come into Egypt, and the Egyptianinto Assyria, and the Egyptians shallserve with the Assyrians.

24 In that day shall Israel be the thirdwith Egypt and with Assyria, even a

blessing in the midst of the land:

25 Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless,saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, andAssyria the work of my hands, and Israel

mine inheritance.

Here Isaiah prophesies a time when Syria, Egypt and Israel shallbecome ONE and shall work together AS ONE. We do know now thatday is upon us.

Jeremiah 9: 25- 26

25 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord,that I will punish all them which arecircumcised with the uncircumcised;

26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and thechildren of Ammon, and Moab, and allthat are in the utmost corners, that dwellin the wilderness: for all these nationsare uncircumcised, and all the house ofIsrael are uncircumcised in the heart.

In these passages the prophet lumps EGYPT in with JUDAH and

EDOM as "uncircumcised of heart." We know from the APOSTLESwritings that "circumcision of the heart" comes from "faith in Y'ShuaMessiah."

Romans 2: 28-29

28 For he is not a Jew, which is oneoutwardly; neither is that circumcision,which is outward in the flesh:

29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly;and circumcision is that of the heart, inthe spirit, and not in the letter; whosepraise is not of men, but of God.

As you can see Paul, who wrote Romans was VERY familiar withJeremiah's writings and understood them quite clearly! Jeremiahstates openly that JUDAH are "uncircumcised," just as"uncircumcised" as the EGYPTIANS and speaks of the

"uncircumcision of the circumcised." Paul goes even BOLDER andsays "he is NOT A JEW who is circumcised OUTWARDLY only."

Jeremiah 46: 25- 28

25 The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel,saith; Behold, I will punish the multitudeof No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their

gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, andall them that trust in him:

26 And I will deliver them into the hand ofthose that seek their lives, and into thehand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon,and into the hand of his servants: and

afterward it shall be inhabited, as in thedays of old, saith the Lord.

27 But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob,and be not dismayed, O Israel: for,behold, I will save thee from afar off, andthy seed from the land of their captivity;

and Jacob shall return, and be in rest andat ease, and none shall make him afraid.

28 Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant,saith the Lord: for I am with thee; for Iwill make a full end of all the nations

whither I have driven thee: but I will notmake a full end of thee, but correct theein measure; yet will I not leave thee

wholly unpunished.Jeremiah clearly foresaw a day when Israel would TRUST in Egyptand thus be partakers of the punishments that come upon all themthat "worship idols." As was in the days of Jeremiah (for indeed theseprophecies were ALL fulfilled in his days) so shall it be again, for theIsrael that now is, and the Jerusalem that now is. Shall they not be"punished" for trusting in Egypt and for trusting in the "Beast" upon

which the harlot city (Jerusalem) now rides to world power anddominance? Of course the punishment that was then shall be again,

for God is NOTHING but CONSISTENT!

Yet, I still have not shown the evidence that Jerusalem is theWHORE, the great city which is Spiritually called "sodom and egypt."Trust me, I am getting to that, I just needed to ESTABLISH theCLEAR PROPHETIC example of scripture and how God deals withJERUSALEM for her adulteries and harlotries of the past!

Ezekiel 23: 19

19 Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, incalling to remembrance the days of heryouth, wherein she had played the harlotin the land of Egypt.

Here Ezekiel addresses the city of Jerusalem as a WHORE orHARLOT with EGYPT! There aren't much clearer propheticscriptures establishing Jerusalem as the WHORE that she was (and

still is for she is repeating the same whoredoms but we will get tothat). Don't believe these verses are talking about Jerusalem as anharlot? Let's look at it all!

Ezekiel 23: 1- 4

23 The word of the Lord came again untome, saying,

2 Son of man, there were two women, thedaughters of one mother:

3 And they committed whoredoms inEgypt; they committed whoredoms intheir youth: there were their breastspressed, and there they bruised the teatsof their virginity.

4 And the names of them were Aholah theelder, and Aholibah her sister: and theywere mine, and they bare sons anddaughters. Thus were their names;Samaria is Aholah, and JerusalemAholibah

Verse 4 of the above text tells us PLAINLY that Jerusalem is theHARLOT named "Aholibah." What more evidence do we need thatJerusalem is viewed by God as a "whore" or "adulteress" when she

worships other Gods?

In the rest of Ezekiel 23 he DESCRIBES in GREAT DETAIL theWHOREDOMS of Jerusalem and FURTHER states that he is puttinga "cup in her hand" that is "full of abominations and fornications."

This is the EXACT thing said of the GREAT WHORE BABYLON inRevelation. Is this just a coincidence or are we NOT talking about theSAME WHORE, Jerusalem?

6 Which were clothed with blue, captains andrulers, all of them desirable young men,horsemen riding upon horses.

7 Thus she committed her whoredoms withthem, with all them that were the chosen menof Assyria, and with all on whom she doted:with all their idols she defiled herself.

8 Neither left she her whoredoms brought fromEgypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and

they bruised the breasts of her virginity, andpoured their whoredom upon her.

9 Wherefore I have delivered her into the handof her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians,upon whom she doted.

10 These discovered her nakedness: they took

her sons and her daughters, and slew her withthe sword: and she became famous amongwomen; for they had executed judgment uponher.

11 And when her sister Aholibah saw this, shewas more corrupt in her inordinate love thanshe, and in her whoredoms more than her

sister in her whoredoms.

12 She doted upon the Assyrians herneighbours, captains and rulers clothed mostgorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, allof them desirable young men.

13 Then I saw that she was defiled, that theytook both one way,

14 And that she increased her whoredoms: forwhen she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall,the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed withvermilion,

15 Girded with girdles upon their loins,exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, allof them princes to look to, after the manner of

the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of theirnativity:

16 And as soon as she saw them with her eyes,she doted upon them, and sent messengersunto them into Chaldea.

17 And the Babylonians came to her into the

bed of love, and they defiled her with theirwhoredom, and she was polluted with them,and her mind was alienated from them.

18 So she discovered her whoredoms, anddiscovered her nakedness: then my mind wasalienated from her, like as my mind wasalienated from her sister.

19 Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, incalling to remembrance the days of her youth,wherein she had played the harlot in the landof Egypt.

20 For she doted upon their paramours, whoseflesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issueis like the issue of horses.

21 Thus thou calledst to remembrance thelewdness of thy youth, in bruising thy teats bythe Egyptians for the paps of thy youth.

22 Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the LordGod; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers againstthee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and Iwill bring them against thee on every side;

23 The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans,Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all theAssyrians with them: all of them desirableyoung men, captains and rulers, great lordsand renowned, all of them riding upon horses.

24 And they shall come against thee with

chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with anassembly of people, which shall set againstthee buckler and shield and helmet roundabout: and I will set judgment before them,and they shall judge thee according to theirjudgments.

25 And I will set my jealousy against thee, and

they shall deal furiously with thee: they shalltake away thy nose and thine ears; and thyremnant shall fall by the sword: they shall takethy sons and thy daughters; and thy residueshall be devoured by the fire.

27 Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from

thee, and thy whoredom brought from the landof Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thineeyes unto them, nor remember Egypt anymore.

mind is alienated:

29 And they shall deal with thee hatefully, andshall take away all thy labour, and shall leavethee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thywhoredoms shall be discovered, both thylewdness and thy whoredoms.

30 I will do these things unto thee, becausethou hast gone a whoring after the heathen,and because thou art polluted with their idols.

31 Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister;therefore will I give her cup into thine hand.

32 Thus saith the Lord God; Thou shalt drink of

thy sister's cup deep and large: thou shalt belaughed to scorn and had in derision; itcontaineth much.

33 Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness andsorrow, with the cup of astonishment and

34 Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, andthou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck

35 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Becausethou hast forgotten me, and cast me behindthy back, therefore bear thou also thylewdness and thy whoredoms.

36 The Lord said moreover unto me; Son ofman, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah?yea, declare unto them their abominations;

37 That they have committed adultery, andblood is in their hands, and with their idolshave they committed adultery, and have alsocaused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to

pass for them through the fire, to devourthem.

38 Moreover this they have done unto me:they have defiled my sanctuary in the sameday, and have profaned my sabbaths.

39 For when they had slain their children to

their idols, then they came the same day intomy sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus havethey done in the midst of mine house.

they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, thelewd women.

45 And the righteous men, they shall judgethem after the manner of adulteresses, andafter the manner of women that shed blood;because they are adulteresses, and blood is intheir hands.

46 For thus saith the Lord God; I will bring up acompany upon them, and will give them to beremoved and spoiled.

47 And the company shall stone them with

stones, and dispatch them with their swords;they shall slay their sons and their daughters,and burn up their houses with fire.

48 Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out ofthe land, that all women may be taught not todo after your lewdness.

49 And they shall recompense your lewdnessupon you, and ye shall bear the sins of youridols: and ye shall know that I am the LordGod.

In order to CLEARLY establish that Jerusalem is THEHARLOT in the prophetic we only need to read ONECHAPTER in Ezekiel in its entirety:

Ezekiel 16

1 Again the word of the Lord came unto me,

saying,

2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know herabominations,

3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God untoJerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of theland of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, andthy mother an Hittite.

4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wastborn thy navel was not cut, neither wast thouwashed in water to supple thee; thou wast not

salted at all, nor swaddled at all.

5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto

thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thouwast cast out in the open field, to the lothing ofthy person, in the day that thou wast born.

6 And when I passed by thee, and saw theepolluted in thine own blood, I said unto theewhen thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I saidunto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.

7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud ofthe field, and thou hast increased and waxengreat, and thou art come to excellentornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, andthine hair is grown, whereas thou wast nakedand bare.

8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked uponthee, behold, thy time was the time of love;and I spread my skirt over thee, and coveredthy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, andentered into a covenant with thee, saith theLord God, and thou becamest mine.

9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, Ithroughly washed away thy blood from thee,and I anointed thee with oil.

11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and Iput bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain onthy neck.

13 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver;and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, andbroidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, andhoney, and oil: and thou wast exceedingbeautiful, and thou didst prosper into akingdom.

14 And thy renown went forth among theheathen for thy beauty: for it was perfectthrough my comeliness, which I had put uponthee, saith the Lord God.

15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty,

and playedst the harlot because of thyrenown, and pouredst out thyfornications on every one that passed by;his it was.

16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and

deckedst thy high places with divers colours,and playedst the harlot thereupon: the likethings shall not come, neither shall it be so.

17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of mygold and of my silver, which I had given thee,and madest to thyself images of men, anddidst commit whoredom with them,

18 And tookest thy broidered garments, andcoveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and

mine incense before them.

19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour,and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thouhast even set it before them for a sweetsavour: and thus it was, saith the Lord God.

20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thydaughters, whom thou hast borne unto me,and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to bedevoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a smallmatter,

21 That thou hast slain my children, anddelivered them to cause them to pass through

the fire for them?

22 And in all thine abominations and thywhoredoms thou hast not remembered thedays of thy youth, when thou wast naked and

bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.

23 And it came to pass after all thy

wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith theLord God;)

24 That thou hast also built unto thee aneminent place, and hast made thee an highplace in every street.

25 Thou hast built thy high place at every headof the way, and hast made thy beauty to beabhorred, and hast opened thy feet to everyone that passed by, and multiplied thywhoredoms.

26 Thou hast also committed fornicationwith the Egyptians thy neighbours, great

of flesh; and hast increased thywhoredoms, to provoke me to anger.

27 Behold, therefore I have stretched out myhand over thee, and have diminished thineordinary food, and delivered thee unto the willof them that hate thee, the daughters of thePhilistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd

way.

28 Thou hast played the whore also with theAssyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea,thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet

couldest not be satisfied.

29 Thou hast moreover multiplied thy

fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea;and yet thou wast not satisfied therewith.

30 How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord God,seeing thou doest all these things, the work ofan imperious whorish woman;

31 In that thou buildest thine eminent place inthe head of every way, and makest thine highplace in every street; and hast not been as anharlot, in that thou scornest hire;

32 But as a wife that committethadultery, which taketh strangers insteadof her husband!

33 They give gifts to all whores: but thougivest thy gifts to all thy lovers, andhirest them, that they may come untothee on every side for thy whoredom.

34 And the contrary is in thee from otherwomen in thy whoredoms, whereas nonefolloweth thee to commit whoredoms:and in that thou givest a reward, and noreward is given unto thee, therefore thouart contrary.

35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word ofthe Lord:

36 Thus saith the Lord God; Because thy

filthiness was poured out, and thy nakednessdiscovered through thy whoredoms with thylovers, and with all the idols of thyabominations, and by the blood of thy children,which thou didst give unto them;

37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers,

with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and allthem that thou hast loved, with all them thatthou hast hated; I will even gather them roundabout against thee, and will discover thynakedness unto them, that they may see allthy nakedness.

38 And I will judge thee, as women that breakwedlock and shed blood are judged; and I willgive thee blood in fury and jealousy.

39 And I will also give thee into their hand, andthey shall throw down thine eminent place, andshall break down thy high places: they shallstrip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy

fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.

40 They shall also bring up a company againstthee, and they shall stone thee with stones,and thrust thee through with their swords.

41 And they shall burn thine houses with fire,and execute judgments upon thee in the sight

of many women: and I will cause thee to ceasefrom playing the harlot, and thou also shaltgive no hire any more.

42 So will I make my fury toward thee to rest,and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and Iwill be quiet, and will be no more angry.

43 Because thou hast not remembered thedays of thy youth, but hast fretted me in allthese things; behold, therefore I also willrecompense thy way upon thine head, saiththe Lord God: and thou shalt not commit thislewdness above all thine abominations.

44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shalluse this proverb against thee, saying, As is themother, so is her daughter.

45 Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lothethher husband and her children; and thou art thesister of thy sisters, which lothed their

husbands and their children: your mother wasan Hittite, and your father an Amorite.

46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she andher daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and

thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy righthand, is Sodom and her daughters.

47 Yet hast thou not walked after their ways,

nor done after their abominations: but, as ifthat were a very little thing, thou wastcorrupted more than they in all thy ways.

48 As I live, saith the Lord God, Sodom thysister hath not done, she nor herdaughters, as thou hast done, thou and

thy daughters.

49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sisterSodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundanceof idleness was in her and in her daughters,neither did she strengthen the hand of the poorand needy.

50 And they were haughty, and committedabomination before me: therefore I took themaway as I saw good.

51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thysins; but thou hast multiplied thineabominations more than they, and hast

justified thy sisters in all thine abominationswhich thou hast done.

52 Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters,bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou

hast committed more abominable than they:they are more righteous than thou: yea, bethou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in

that thou hast justified thy sisters.

53 When I shall bring again their captivity, thecaptivity of Sodom and her daughters, and thecaptivity of Samaria and her daughters, thenwill I bring again the captivity of thy captives inthe midst of them:

54 That thou mayest bear thine own shame,and mayest be confounded in all that thou hastdone, in that thou art a comfort unto them.

55 When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters,shall return to their former estate, and Samariaand her daughters shall return to their former

estate, then thou and thy daughters shallreturn to your former estate.

56 For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned bythy mouth in the day of thy pride,

57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, as

at the time of thy reproach of the daughters ofSyria, and all that are round about her, thedaughters of the Philistines, which despise theeround about.

58 Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thineabominations, saith the Lord.

59 For thus saith the Lord God; I will even dealwith thee as thou hast done, which hastdespised the oath in breaking the covenant.

60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenantwith thee in the days of thy youth, and I willestablish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

Revelation 3: 9-10

1. The northern summit (hill) is called Scopus [Hill One],2. The middle summit (hill) was called Nob [Hill Two],3. The highest point of Olivet itself, and the southern summit(hill) was called in the Holy Scriptures the "Mount ofCorruption" or "Mount of Offence" [Hill Three] (II Kings23:13),4. On the middle ridge between the Kedron and theTyropoeon Valleys there was (formerly) in the south "MountZion" [Hill Four] (the original "Mount Zion" and not the

later southwest hill that was later called by that name),5. The "Ophel Mount" [Hill Five],6. To the north of that the "Rock" around which "FortAntonia" was built [Hill Six],7. The southwest hill itself [Hill Seven] that finally becameknown in the time of Simon the Hasmonean as the new"Mount Zion."
