I also assisted the social media manager by composing and scheduling Facebook posts and tweets. Throughout my time at university I have developed both in terms of confidence and independence, as well as expanding my technical skill set. Key examples of my university work include:

An 11,000-word thesis that discussed Islamophobia in the Media and how they should be held accountable. The dissertation received a 2:1 overall.

The PR campaign: #KNOWYOURHANGOVER targeted students in order to raise awareness of Meningitis and the danger it poses. The project included preparing a press pack, designing supporting material and pitching the idea. Altogether I received a first for the unit.

As part of a team I helped create, design (InDesign) and write content for our new magazine. CULT focussed on alternative sub-culture news and reviews in the UK. The magazine received the highest mark of the year.

I filmed and edited a documentary short as part of my NCJT in Visual Journalism and Visual Journalism unit. This 3-minute film achieved a first.

Other Interests

At university I volunteered for 18 months for the charity FoodCycle. The charity helps serve up food to vulnerable people on the poverty line.
