JesuitsThe Good Things Found Among the Indians
By Jacob Cummins
Strength of the Indians The Jesuits noticed
the physical advantages of the Indians.
The Indians were tall and strong. The Jesuits also saw them as proportioned and agile.
Patient People The Indians never
professed their anger. Happiness is an emotion
that every Indian strived to feel constantly. They showed patience in many troubling situations, such as having no food to eat. This patience is another aspect of Indian culture that the Jesuits found very interesting.
