Winglets – wing shields- To reduce vortex turbulence at end of wing.

Flaps move to interrupt streamline over wing, causing turbulence

Aileron expands wing area, flap adjusts streamline and turbulence

Aileron increases wing area when plane thrust is reduced. This maintains lift force.

Coming into land. Aileron drops to increase drag, to help slow plane before touchdown.
