Join us at our 5th Annual

Jewels of the Northland Sale on December 6

in Clara City, Minnesota!

You’re Invited to theJewels of the Northland Sale 2014!On behalf of the breeders and guest consigners of the Jewels of the Northland, welcome to our 5th annual production sale! Time

sure flies when your doing what you love and we hope you agree, this years set is certainly one to get excited about!

The excitement surrounding the beef industry is certainly contagious with record high feeder cattle prices and lower input costs. Now is the time to invest in new genetics! For us, this is a year of closing chapters and opening new ones. As you can see in these next few pages, we are opening up the donor pen to two cows that have been the most dependable, profit producing, and never miss cows in our programs. Although we are saying goodbye to Pearl and Ultrastar, we are ecstatic about the potential of our new upcoming donors especially with the calves we have seen off their first few flushes. We have always had a firm belief in cow family and look forward to continuing that tradition with daughters of some of the

greats of our breed.

The Northland on December 6th is the place to be this year; especially for any juniors wanting to be competitive at the 2015 North Central Regional Classic Minnesota is ready to host this year! We are so proud of our juniors that have had so much success in the show ring this past year on a local, state and national level.

The pictures, texts and calls we get throughout the year from juniors is what makes what we do so worth it. Juniors, don’t forget we do offer an incentive for winning at state and national levels!

Back by popular demand, the sale will be ran by video auction in the warm comforts of the Hilbrands Cattle Company sale facility and LiveAuctions.TV will be on hand for internet bidding for those unable to attend. Everyone is welcome to come early to view the heifers, chat with the breeders and enjoy some Northland hospitality with some

hearty soup and a sandwich. We invite all of you to our pre-sale social the night before as well. For those making the trip to Louisville this year, a number of the heifers on this year’s sale will be on display, so please stop by the stall to chat with us!

Please don’t hesitate to give any of us a call with questions about the offering. We look forward to seeing everyone on December 6th in Clara City!

Warm Regards,

Hilbrands Cattle Company

When we purchased Pearl in Denver 2005, she was this cool little May baby with a bright future. Little is no long the word we use to describe Pearl as she is by far the widest topped, deepest bodied, most massive cow most of us have ever seen. Those who see Pearl (affectionately known around here as Helga) in person love to have guessing contests about what she weighs. This 10 year old Viking matriarch still flushes like a champ with her last flush producing her average of 23 good embryos. She has truly been a cash cow over the years. Some of her highlighted daughters include Lot 6 Ultrastar, the Shasha donor that sold for $20,000 and is hard at work in the Shoal Creek Operation and the $16,000 Liz, current donor for the Boesl Family. Not to forget Pearl was also the dam of the 2009 Supreme Champion bull at the Black Hills Stock Show! The best part about Pearl is her consistency to make solid, functional offspring with the BEST dispositions. Pearl daughters are definitely known as being “kid friendly.” We think the time has come to let someone that’s looking for a proven donor share the joy she has brought us through the years. Pearl sells open and ready to flush.

If you haven’t already heard Minnesota is hosting the North Central Regional Simmental Classic in Austin this summer. And what a better way to head down there leading this one. Beyonce is ready to go, show broke, kid tame and has already been in the purple. She has as much rib, depth and body as you could ask for, plus she has great hair and is free moving

and easy on the eyes. Her dam, Liz, was the second high selling open in the 2011 Jewels Sale for $16,000 to Boesl Farm, MN, and shown by Kylee Kohls and went on to win her class in Denver and was Champion Female at the Meeker County Fair. We were fortunate to work a deal with Boesl’s to flush Liz and partner on some eggs, being one of the best female’s we have ever raised. You will see a lot of good ones to come out of this up and coming donor in the future. Owned with Boesl Farms.

Year in and year out, Pearl comes through when it comes to raising the good ones. Like the $20,000 HSF/HS Shasha, the $16,000 HSF/HS Liz Y117 that has a daughter selling in this same sale. The $13,000 HS/HSF Ultrastar that sells too, and the $10,500 HSF/HS Becca Z228 which was the high selling bred in last years

sale Heartland Simmental, IA. Along with countless others too many to mention. Addison is a long made, long necked female with plenty of muscle and dimension. This heifer will be added to the list of great ones from the $300,000 in life time earnings Lizzys Pearl and she is still going strong.

Now is the time to jump on owning a Pearl daughter set to calve here this coming spring! The Montecito sisters are a few of our favorites out in the bred pen. Massive, like their mother, is the best way to describe them. Both bred to the Accelerated Genetics Sire, GLS Integrate, we look forward to seeing the pen bulls these girls are bound to produce. The Make It Rain is another option for someone looking for a beautiful baldy bred to Vin-Mar O’Reilly Factor for an early half blood February baby.

There’s so many things that this girl can do right and at only 6 years of age and in her prime there’s so much more that I think she has to offer the industry. Her outcross pedigree and ability to work on all types of bulls has made mating decisions effortless. A half blood son by Style, HS Odyssey, owned by Schmidt Simmentals, MN was a reserve division winner in Louisville and another son by Work Force, HS Star Force Z14U, owned by Logan Sigmon, AR, was the Champion bull at the Arkansas State Fair and Reserve Division winner in Kansas City. HS Razor Z16S purchased by Lauren Kaemingk, IA, was the second high selling bull at $5000 in the 2013 Gentlemen of the Northland Sale. Rarely do you find a cow that is just as good at producing stout attractive bulls as she is at making feminine eye appealing females but this lady can get it done. Just take a look at the set she’s got in the sale this year and you can see what she has to offer. I’m no expert on this, but I think based on the look she can throw into her purebred calves that she could be pretty cool in the club calf sector as well making some neat crossbreds. We absolutely loved Duration for his overall style and structure, enough so that we AI’d all of our donors to him this past year and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first calves this coming spring. He sold in last year’s Jewels sale for $8500 to Rinker’s in IL and they love him just as much as we do. Ultrastar has been averaging around 10 embryos per flush but more importantly we’ve had tremendous conception rates with them. She has been tested homozygous black and despite her white underbelly we’ve gotten very little white out of her to date including matings to numerous baldy bulls.

This little lady is extremely cool looking. She’s really well balanced with a good amount of bone and foot underneath her and boy when she pops that front end up is it ever long and pretty for a purebred. Ultrastar’s really good at putting some style and look into her calves and she didn’t miss with this one. She’s got all the right parts to make a really fancy bred heifer next year!

Always consistent and always reliable, Ultrastar can make the good ones just like her mom, Pearl. There’s a reason the stayability EPD in this family is in the top 1% of the breed, longevity and dependability. Two really good cow prospects with genetics for the long haul. Ultradream is super well balanced from head to toe and comes with an API in the top 4% of the breed. Bred up to Trauch’s Tail Gater bull, here’s a combination that should be really exciting! Live Action! Just when we think we have tapped out Gabby’s genetic potential, she laughs and gives a group of sisters that continue to amaze us every day. Since the day we laid eyes on these Uprising sisters, we knew they were going to be something very special. To wrap that much mass and structure so elegantly into the most beautiful front end is truly a gift from above. We breed cattle our whole lives hoping to get close to what these girls already are. The choice is yours if a baldy or solid black donor cow is in your future! Be sure to stop by the stalls in Louisville to see these girls in person! We reserve the right to a flush on Enchantress with a minimum of six (6) transferable embryos at the seller’s expense and buyer’s convenience.

Whichever mating you choose, Uprising or New Direction, you are buying into a predictable, functional and extremely sweet cow family. All four of these girls are some of the most loving beings we have had at our place. We are definitely going to miss them but cannot wait to see what their future holds!

The New Direction mating made a big splash in Denver this past year with three full sisters to Popstar and Sadie being crowned Champion Pen of Three Purebred Females! The lead heifer was chosen by CJ Brown, IL, and sold for $10,000 through The One, the middle heifer was nominated as our Power Heifer entry and was selected as the winner by Jerry Blum, IN, and last but certainly not least, the anchor heifer sold through the Jewels sale last year to Luke Harker, IN, for $7,250 and has had much success on the Indiana show circuit with the highlight being named Reserve Champion Simmental at the Indiana State Fair! This mating screamed purple and we have huge hopes for Popstar to follow in her sister’s footsteps! Bred buyers, take advantage of the rare opportunity to purchase a Gabby bred female! Sadie was our pick to feature in the 2014 Jewels bred section when we were blessed with so many girls last year and bred early to Gunslinger is a bonus!

If I had to pick one young donor to put the “franchise tag” on so no one could come make an offer and steal her away, it would be Miss Gracie Y7 and once you lay eyes on these two Broker babes you will see why we feel she is going to be a lead donor in our program. Two full brothers to these ladies are in the bull lot and they are a couple power house studs! Gracie is an Upgrade daughter out of the 2 time Denver champion AJE Gabby R7. We have gone back and forth between these sisters since first seeing them on grass in South Dakota last spring. Could go on and on describing these two breed leading donor/show prospects but would rather you study their pictures, videos, check them out in Louisville or stop by the farm on sale day or ahead of time to see them for yourself. We are suckers for a baldy so are retaining the right to one flush on Beauty N Grace B362 at buyers convenience and sellers expense with minimum six transferable embryos.

Before she sold, we had to tap into what her genetic potential was and these two bred females are the results of two flushes to HS Work Force and ZKCC Chopper. After selling Glitter to Polzin and Thomas, I second guessed that decision every time I saw another Glitter calf or set of embryos somewhere but everything happens for a reason. That reason being we had an amazing daughter of hers that we needed to utilize. If we breed cattle right, the next generation is suppose to be better and bring something more to the table. In her debut in 2012, Stop and Stare produced two amazing Lookout daughters that were Division 1 and Reserve Division II Champions in Louisville. They went on to top Jewels of the Northland at $30,000 and $22,000 respectively that year. This set of five half blood heifer calves out of four different Angus sires will boggle your mind and solidifies her place as the top donor to produce SimAngus™ progeny in our program. Not sure how to express in words in a way that will do them justice but here it goes.

The May baby of the group, Caught Lookin B929, has been the pick of our entire heifer

calf crop by some that have stopped this fall. She reminds me a lot of the Lookout x Glitter

female Kiersten Jass, IA, purchased a few years back and went on to claim Reserve Champion

SimAngus™ Female with her at 2011 North American in Louisville. She is going to be tough in

that May division on a national caliber level and has a set of EPDs that will only help her get

to the top at PTP shows. Sweet fronted, sweeping rib, sound, nice haired with a disposition

any age kid will love. This one shouldn’t be for sale and giving the right opportunity might be

interested in buying back in on her. Retaining the right to one flush out of Caught Lookin B929 at buyers convenience and sellers expense with minimum 6 transferable embryos. Be

sure to check her out in Louisville. Lookin Hot B418 is a January sister that isn’t about to take

a back seat to any of her full sibs. Length, depth, numbers in a brood cow package. Without a

doubt this female is donor cow in the making. Flush sibs to this female sold in 2012 Jewels for

$30,000 and $22,000. Also selling full sib embryos to these two beauties.

Stella proven herself in a huge way this year with her first set of ET calves. These two beauties are just gorgeous in their overall make-up and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them. These two are pretty much cut from the same mold being deep flanked and squared made yet they pull it all together into such eye appealing packages. Bling Baby is the more moderate, maybe a bit more feminine made of the two while Blissful Kisses wallops a punch with her big huge hip, extra rib dimension and bone. Year after year Victoria continues to amaze us by producing high quality, functional, profit making progeny both bulls and females. That is why we based our program around this great female. To date, Victoria has a life time earnings in excess of $300,000 and still going strong. This year’s offering is probably her best yet. Starting with two Make It Rain breds, A311 is the solid black, moderate framed power house. While A308 is the more angular, fancy baldy heifer. They are both bred to Gunslinger for January calves. These two are truly breeding pieces for the future both displaying tremendous depth, style and balance. As a sire group, the Uprisings were our best with many more to come from this mating. We reserve the right to a future flush with a minimum of 6 transferable embryos to be done at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience on both B416 and B435.

HSF Hannah Montana T771Hannah Montana has quickly become one the cornerstones of our program for her ability to stamp out uniformity and consistency. That’s why she has averaged $8,800 on her first five heifers we sold. From the $22,000 HSF Hannah W986, whose progeny will make their preview with two lovely Broker daughters. Or the $9,000 HSF Haley X086 that was one of the high sellers in the 2011 Jewels sale to Sunny View Farms and Diamond A Farms, IL, be sure to check out her Sandeen Upper Class heifer that is Lot 55 in the North American Select Simmental Sale in Louisville, KY, as she is sure to be a sale feature. She is a full sibling to HSF Ashlynn A303, this big barreled female has all the right parts and pieces to make a great cow or donor for her new owner. What a pair of sisters to start out the beginning of a bright future from one of the young headlining donors at Hecksel’s Simmental and JRB Farms. Their dam, HSF Hannah W986, was the $22,000 high selling bred at the 2011 Jewels sale that we sold 1/2 interest to Justin Bakeberg of JRB Farms. This pair represents a solid, proven line of females with nothing but proven and positive results each and every time. Both females are very similar in many ways especially from the ground up. Both are super sound on the move with plenty of length of spine. Mia B411 is the beautiful baldy with the look and neck extension that will get the judges attention every time. While Katy B405 is the cowy one of the two that is softer made. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I think of what these two will look like in the future in the show ring or in the donor pen. Owned with JRB Farms.

I am not sure we have ever owned a cow that stamps her daughters more consistently then Miss Firefly. A Kansas City Champion herself and as a young donor, Fly has produced daughters that have been sale toppers for

the Livin the Dream sale the last few years and have caught Mile High attention with high selling embryos in the SimMagic event. We knew when we saw Uprising, Fly was our first pick to flush to and it certainly worked. When baby Butterfly came home from the co-op, the magic clippers instantly came out because we had to see what this shaggy little sweetheart was hiding. Not sure Mark or I said anything when we kicked her out of the clipping room but the wide eyed silence told it all...this little thing was freaking awesome. Huge bellied, rocket fronted and SO sound! When Fly was a heifer, it was never hard to find guys that wanted to help on her “pipes.” Butterfly will be the same way. Best of all, she’s one that will be easy keeping and a younger junior would get along great with…as long as she gets her daily ear rubbing! Spoiled? Maybe a little, but she’s worth it. We believe so much in what Butterfly could do, we are reserving the right to one flush with a minimum of 6 transferable embryos at the sellers expense and buyer’s convenience. Owned with Ruby Cattle Co.

At this past National Western, Lee Cattle Co from Colorado found a bull they couldn’t live without. HILB Maverick A43 was on many

breeders wish list this year and commanded a price of $50,000 on The One’s auction block. Semen is now available with Cattle Visions. Here is the first chance to buy the very first baby sister to Maverick. Moonlight Crush or affectionately known in our barn as “Mavreka” has already been to the purple circle being named Calf Champion at the 2014 Minnesota State fair just a few short months ago! Judge Curt Rinker complimented her for overall mass and being beautifully balanced with a great set of indexes. We believe so much in the genetic potential of Moonlight Crush we are looking for a great partner. Selling 1/2 interest (possession negotiable) with the option to double the bid to own her all. If the bid is doubled, we reserve the right to a future flush with a minimum of 6 transferrable embryos at the sellers expense and the buyer’s convenience.

What a Girl has had a special spot in our heart since we firstlaid eyes on her in a Griswold Cattle Co ad. A female with so much dimension and mass and the killer look that is so sought after in the business. We were riding around on a Ranger in April in a pasture near Wessington, SD, when we first laid eyes on What A Doll B998 and I wish we had a picture of the look on our faces. I know my jaw hit the ground and her eyes were popping out of her head. Not sure I have seen a cooler looking calf in my life. Heatwave haired, giraffe necked and arrogant! Her full sister sold in Jewels two years ago to Nathan Latzke, MN, for $25,000 and is a leading donor in their program. This percentage Simmental female can run with any breed in the show ring, raise simmy females with a look to die for or cross her clubby and utilize her in that sector of the industry. A versatile female that you need to see to truly appreciate.

What A Babe is just that… a babe. The girl that catches your eye at the beach and is the sweetheart you can bring home to your mother. Sexy, powerful and sweet natured. Her sire, Heads Up 20X ET, is the bull we knew could compliment our program when we saw him at Nichols Cryo bull stud in Iowa as a yearling and were not surprised that he sired the great son LLSF Uprising in his first year. This percentage donor prospect is so powerful that you forget she is just a late March female.

Rincker Simmentals, IL, purchased What A Girl eggs in Jewels couple years ago for $700. In September they sold a DJ Salution daughter for $13,000. Dynamite’s natural calf Miss Bombshell was the first heifer to hit the ground at our place last spring and has had the look since day one. Super deep, stout made and loaded with performance. The Upgrade son Heads Up adds performance and combined with Built Right and Ebonys Joy on the cow side, Bombshell has the pedigree to make a brood cow that will be an asset to any herd. We know she is going to develop into a beast of a bred heifer and would like to keep her around to see her develop but decided to feature a couple opens out of Dynamite to show you why we are excited about what she is contributing in our donor program.

If you are in search of a power house donor prospect that has a little more substance, mass, power, fleshing ability with a great set of

Jump on the bandwagon here if you’ve ever wanted to get in on Schick’s P403 cow. This just might be your last chance or close to it. Unfortunately, they lost her last year not long after she sold in Denver for $35,000 and the remaining embryo supply is pretty limited. She was the cornerstone of their program for quite a few years excelling in her ability to produce highly sought after eye-appealing progeny. Not only have her daughters been extremely successful in the show ring but they’ve also gone on to prove their own worth as breed leading donors. Bella, a half blood by Brilliance, is real complete in her design and structure. She’s big ribbed with a nice top and her EPDs are at the top of the game with a 147 API and 73 TI ranking her in the top 15 and 30% of the industry respectively. Big time maternal EPDs as well with CE, BW and Milk all ranked in the top 15% or better. Blossom, a purebred by Next Big Thing, is really smooth and extended in her lines and reaches out with a big huge step. She’s long bodied with good angles and a really nice hip. She’s also got a great disposition and is one of the first to greet you at the gate! Two exceptional prospects out of a big time cow family!

Neon’s first year of ET production proved to be highly successful this past year with her daughters taking home numerous ribbons and banners throughout the year for their new owners. FBF1 Glowing image owned by Forest Brook Farms and Classy Cattle Co., WI, was named the Reserve Champion Simmental at the World Beef Expo, won her class in Louisville and was a Reserve Division winner in Denver. Unfortunately, they lost her shortly after Denver or I think you would have been seeing a whole lot more of her this past year. HS Neon Sky, a full sib to B114 and B720, owned by the Willis Family, WV, was crowned Champion Simmental in both the open and Jr. shows at the West Virginia State Fair. HS Neon Splash, owned by the DeCap family, IA, took home numerous wins for them including Reserve Champion Simmental at the Iowa State Fair 4-H show, Champion Simmental and Reserve Supreme breeding heifer at the Gene Brunscheen Memorial Show and 6th overall at the IJSA field day just to name a few. If you’re searching for next year’s show heifer then you might just want to take a real close look at these beautiful ladies. Just like their mama, they absolutely float on the move and are so good in that pastern and rear leg. They’ve got hair, bellies, smooth front ends, good hips and tremendous structure. We weaned these girls a little late from the coop herd and they’re a little greener right now. You might see that in their pictures and videos but it’s to your advantage, there’s no needing to hold them back or trying to keep them fresh over the winter for the upcoming show season… they’re ready to rock n roll!

Next Big Thing has sired some champion females across the country and caught our attention as a bull that would work on the Sheza Beauty cow family. Next Beauty is just that given a little time and care and she too could be the beauty at the back drop. Her grandmother was a past Denver Champion so it is in her blood. Next Beauty has great structure like the Beauty cow family is noted for and is super hairy like the rest of our Next Big Thing calves this year. Well balanced on paper and in person.

We have been in search of the next baldy female to add to our donor program and as I write this footnote I think that female is right there in front of us and we are about to let her slip away. This Milestone daughter out of Steel Forces full sister is royally bred and the kind that you just can’t poke a hole in. She is massive, bold sprung and carries her depth through her flank as well as any female in the sale. Good from the ground up and a disposition that is fun to be around. Her maternal sister by Make It Rain brought $11,000 last year to be a donor for Tom Engel, IL. Study her outstanding EPDs, pedigree and phenotype and I think you will agree this in the type of donor that progeny and frozen genetics will be easy and profitable to market.

Here is a farm favorite since she was just a baby and one we took to state fair this summer where she made her share of friends. Huge boned, big footed, stout, easy keeping and has such awesome hair you won’t have to search too long to find fitters to come help at show time. Everyone likes playing of this kind. She has impressed people with how massive she is and yet she is so sound. Her dam is a maternal sister to Steel Force. This one is going to make a mind blowing bred heifer and Amanda thinks this one should stay around here to show and she is right but we are hoping to find this sweetheart a junior kid to love her before she anchors a donor program. Our young blue heeler puppy Oakley is going to miss this one as are we. Be sure to stop by our stall in Louisville to check her out. Owned with Boehland Cattle Company.

Sheza Glory was the lot 1 sale feature in last years’ Jewels of the Northland sale where she commanded $14,000 going to David Groves, AR. She is as sound structured and elegant a purebred Simmental donor you will find and those traits are evident in this pair of young High Regard females. Along with their sound structure, they are both flat shouldered, nice necked and hairy. Sheza Tease B735 has made her share of friends this fall and strikes us as the show heifer that is really going to turn heads next summer and fall. She is currently in the running to make the trip to Louisville and with her best days ahead of her, we are confident we will see this heifer in her share of back drop photos for her new owner. Sheza Flirt should have been named Sheza Sweet Heart. She broke in the manner of minutes and if you need a show heifer for a younger exhibitor and is certain to contend be sure to look this one up sale day. I guess the sign of a great donor is when we just expect them to produce progeny that win major shows and top nationally known sales. Baby’s Breath has always been up to meet the high standards we have set and last year her daughters topped the Jewels of the Northland sale selling to Trey Jass, IA and Beshears Simmentals, IN for $21000 and $12000 respectively. Her daughter Crazy N Love went on to be Reserve Champion female at the highly competitive Iowa state fair out of 225+ purebred females and was Champion PB Simmental at the MN State Fair for Trey Jass. This year, we were not fortunate to get heifer calves on the ground but do have an outstanding pair of New Direction bred heifers bred early with sexed female Step Up semen. This pair of females are moderate, well balanced, free moving, functional and ready to carry on the family tradition. Miss Portia A18T didn’t give us her best pose in the picture pen but is the stoutest, deepest, easiest keeping female in the pen and a favorite of ours all year. We feel she is donor quality. HILB Direct Me Baby A427, a flush sister to these ladies sold in last years’ sale to Elm-Mound Farms, WI for $6000. When you check out the pictures, watch the videos or stop by, you will see why everyone is excited about the first calf crop to hit the ground out of the $146,000 LLSF Uprising bull. They have surfaced to the top of our calf crop and we think the mating with Baby’s Breath could produce that next sale topper or national champion contender. We only have 3 of these in the tank so this is your only opportunity to get your hands on them.

Here is a full sibling to two of the most popular heifers in last year’s sale that averaged $9,000. HSF Libby A336 was the second high seller last year to Mason Latzke for $14,000 and HSF Bella A342 sold to Fred Mansfield, both females went on to win purple at their county Fairs. Ivy is the combination of these two. B450 is long bodied, cool necked with great hair in an ultra sound and feminine package. And did I mention puppy dog tame disposition, the first time she had a halter put on was three days before her picture was taken. This would be the perfect heifer for the youngest junior ro show and compete at a high level next summer. And with her pedigree out of Liberty Bell, she will be a great investment for the future.

Here is a pair of breds that go back to one of our best A.I. cows, Fawn 309K. A302 will be the last daughter to sell, after a long harsh winter we shipped 309K after weaning her last big calf at 14.5 years old. Fawn A302 is dark cherry red heifer out of the Champion Percentage Bull at Denver and Kansas City. She is a soggy, soft made, big middled and as deep bodied as you could make one. A maternal sibling sold in last years sale to Gerdes Show Cattle, IA, for $3,500 and laid down and had a nice bull calf. And then there is A301, a granddaughter of Fawn 309K, out of a super nice young Dream On cow and Better Than Ever. Lots of longevity bred into these two females for many years of productivity. Both sell bred to the calving ease bull A Step Up for January calves.

Here’s a pair of Steel Force sisters out of my former donor. Their grand dam, Burning Power, is the popular donor for JS Simmentals. The Burning Power cow family has produced numerous show winners, including the very popular AI sire, FBF1 Combustible. Their maternal sisters are some of the best young cows in our herd, and wean some of our heaviest calves each year. Take your pick, solid black or baldy with extra chrome. Both are moderate framed, deep bodied and stout. They’re both bred to Dew It Right, and due in January.

When deciding what embryos to put in, we decided to reach into the tank and take out a mating that had proven itself in the past. Gonsior Simmentals, NE, has sold bulls and females out of this mating that topped their sale and it is because they are sound functional cattle that are flat going to make you money. This pair of sisters are very similar both being good necked, sound, moderate with a maternal brook cow look about them. Problem Solved is bred early with sexed Step Up female semen and Bail Me Out is due in February to the calving ease Upgrade son that was the lead bull in Grass Lunning Simmentals Denver Champion pen couple years ago. He went on to top their sale going to Krueger Simmentals, MN, and Hart Farms, SD, and is leased to Accelerated Genetics.

This blaze faced Milestone daughter out of Windy Ridge’s donor, Jewel, is one of my favorites. She’s been a standout since the day she was born. The Jewel calves have been the most consistent group of ET calves I’ve had. I’ve put in more the 20 Jewel embryos over the past several years, and have more Jewel

pregnancies due again. Her maternal brother by Upgrade was the $26,000 top selling bull this spring on Gonsior’s Sale. A maternal sister, also by Upgrade, was the $15,300 high selling female at the NE Cattlemen’s Classic. A189 is long bodied, wide and powerful, yet still maintains a lot of eye appeal and femininity. She’s due in January to Dew It Right.

Welcome to the Northland! We are very excited to extend this invitation to you to join us for this year’s Jewels of the Northland Sale! The “Jewels” team has once again outdone themselves and assembles an offering of cattle and genetics that are simply awesome. As you can see in this impressive catalog, the stage has been set and they are ready for your appraisal.

It’s an extraordinary time to be in the cattle business. No one can deny the tremendous opportunity there is in ownership of good cattle in today’s cattle economy. Take advantage of sale offerings like this and capitalize! There are stellar show heifer prospects, future donors and herd sires ready to make an impact. The cow families run deep in this sale and the predictability bred into these cattle is not something you see at every sale. These cattle will work and look awesome doing it. Juniors- the AJSA North Central Regional is in Austin, MN next June. This is the place to find a contender for that great Junior event. The show heifers run deep here as is evident by the continued customer success you can see highlighted in this book. Not only has the Jewels breeders “opened the gates” offering great cattle, but have once again “opened the tanks” and are selling top embryos that are mates to the cattle in this sale and in their herds. What an opportunity to bring your tank and go home with breed leading genetics.

The cattle will be available for viewing all day on Friday and the barn social will be at 5pm. The warm sale facility provides a great atmosphere to catch up with fellow breeders and talk cattle. The sale cattle will be on display at 8am on sale day and the complimentary lunch begins at 11am. This is again a video sale and the offering will be presented on the big screens. You can walk outside to view them in person, then come inside and relax while checking out their videos. Those videos will also be available prior to the sale; we invite you to check them out on the sale page at ebersale.com . If you are unable to join us, live bidding and broadcast is again available from our friends at liveauctions.tv .

The marketing team is a great resource to assist you in your purchases. Feel free to call Val, Kelly or any of the marketing representatives. We look forward to seeing you in Clara City, MN on December 6th!

Sincerely,

Eberspacher Enterprises Inc.
