• Meeting with Dr. Richard Besser (President, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation), March 28, 11:00 – 11:30 am, E9519
Hi Justin,
Dr. Richard Besser would like to meet with some students from 11:00-11:30 am on March 28th in the Frank Hurley Room, E9519. I'd like to leave it to you to select them members of the Student Assembly to attend. I think a group of up to 8-10 would be fine! Dr. Besser (who was a chief resident of Pediatrics in JHMI during his student days) will be speaking in Sheldon Hall for a Dean's Invited Lecture from 1:00-2:00 pm, including taking questions from the audience. It would be wonderful if you could share the attached e-poster and encourage students to attend...with their questions for him!
Would you let me know the names and degree programs of the students attending the 11 am meeting, once you have made your selection? Many thanks for your help with this!
Best,

“Stop the Bleed” Outreach Program• Following the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting in 2012, the American College of Surgeons
convened the Joint Committee to Create a National Policy to Enhance Survivability from Intentional Mass
Casualty and Active Shooter Events which identified hemorrhage control as key to saving lives, leading to the
development of the “Stop the Bleed” program. Stop the Bleed is a program, launched in collaboration with the
White House, that aims to reduce deaths due to hemorrhage by promoting the use of direct pressure and
tourniquets by the general public.
