What Is HemorrHeal?
I first came across this powerful formula for healing hemorrhoids on Dr. Jonathan V.
Wright’s website. Dr. Wright became very well known after Suzanne Somers featured
him in one of her books on natural hormone balancing. He is a prolific medical doctor
who also advocates using natural remedies whenever possible. Dr. Wright has
wonderful protocols for using potassium iodide (SSKI) to treat a variety of ailments from
hemorrhoids to ovarian cysts.
I took Dr. Wright’s formula for healing hemorrhoids and began experimenting with it. My
first challenge was to see if I could come up with a formula that worked for internal
hemorrhoids as well. I had also been experimenting with DMSO for a few years, seeing
what it could do, so I also wanted to see what happened if I added DMSO (dimethyl
sulfoxide – a natural substance derived from tree bark) to Dr. Wright’s formula, and what
the best ratio would be.
Dr. Wright also uses and writes about DMSO. One of his colleagues tested a 50/50
combination of DMSO and potassium iodide on sebaceous (fatty) cysts and found that to
work well (although you would get quite a “sting” at that concentration!). So I did have
some rough guidelines to work with.
Once I found formulas for both internal and external hemorrhoids that worked well for me
and my family, I gave them to my JPT Wellness Circle members for further testing.
Hemorrhoids were completely healed in most cases, but at the very least, substantial
relief was obtained. Please keep in mind that any supplements recommended in this
ebook, can be purchased at the Holistic Health Shoppe at www.LTYGshoppe.com if you
cannot get them locally.
Like any facet of health, I suspect your success with this remedy will also depend on
whether you are holistically addressing the root causes of hemorrhoids in your body. For
example, if you are eating a diet that continually results in hard, dehydrated stools, or
decreased peristalsis (wavelike muscular contractions of the intestine), then your
continual straining to defecate is just going to produce more hemorrhoids. So if
4
constipation is an ongoing factor in your life, I encourage you to consider getting my
book, Listen To Your Colon: The Complete Natural Healing Guide For Constipation – or
at least read through the information on the website, watch the videos, and download the
free report: www.ListenToYourColon.com
At the very least, be sure you are simultaneously using stool softeners during treatment
with HemorrHeal. You can use psyllium, chia or flaxseed to soften your stools, or we sell
a combination product at the Holistic Health Shoppe that works very well called
MetaCleanse.
Before I get into the actual HemorrHeal formula instructions, I'd like to give you some
information and background on one of its key ingredients – dimethyl sulfoxide, or,
DMSO.
I need to explain DMSO because it is currently not approved for use with other
substances. Like many other truly spectacular, natural, non-patentable substances,
DMSO has been sidelined by the FDA (Food & Drug Administration). Its only FDA-
approved use is for interstitial cystitis (for which a drug company holds the patent). Thus,
any DMSO product you buy has to carry a warning that it is for use as a "solvent" only.
Therefore, I am unable to get HemorrHeal manufactured for you, ready to go. Instead, I
can only give you the formula and you have to purchase the ingredients and make it
yourself. The other ingredients in HemorrHeal are more common substances – aloe vera
juice, potassium iodide (a mineral salt) and cocoa butter – and are non-controversial, so
we don't need to get into a lot of background on them. Although I will give you a brief
overview of each, so you can assess the synergy of this formula:
Aloe Vera – is antibacterial and antifungal. It is also used to soothe and speed healing,
so it works well to counter the “sting” of potassium iodide and any irritation from DMSO.
Potassium Iodide – a mineral salt also known as SSKI (saturated solution potassium
iodide), it is an antibacterial and antiviral. It is also known for its ability to break down
scar tissue and cysts. Dr. Wright has used it extensively to treat ovarian cysts and
fibrocystic breast disease. David M. Derry MD, PhD has also extensively studied the use
5
of topical iodine in regenerating scar tissue. If used long-term (longer than a month or
so), you need to monitor your thyroid function though, since iodine impacts the thyroid
gland.
Cocoa Butter – used to solidify the suppositories (for internal hemorrhoid use), cocoa
butter is naturally rich in Vitamin E as well as a number of other vitamins and minerals.
Vitamin E helps to soothe, hydrate, and balance the skin and also provides the skin with
collagen, which assists with wrinkles and other signs of ageing. Cocoa butter also
contains cocoa mass polyphenol (CMP), a substance that inhibits the production of the
immuno globulin IgE. IgE is known to aggravate symptoms of both dermatitis and
asthma. Cocoa butter is historically a folk remedy for burns, cough, dry lips, fever,
malaria, rheumatism, snakebite and wounds.
What Is DMSO?
DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) has received the most press as a topical application for
relieving arthritis. However, that application is merely the proverbial tip of the iceberg for
this multi-tasking healing aid. In many ways, it reminds me of wild oregano oil in that it
has such a broad range of uses and the ability to produce amazing results fairly quickly.
So what exactly is it? Dimethyl sulfoxide is primarily derived from the bark of trees.
Russian scientist Dr. Alexander Saytzeff first synthesized it in 1866. Due to its amazing
ability to bind with other substances, it was first used as a solvent. In 1959 it was
demonstrated that DMSO could protect red blood cells and other tissues against
freezing conditions, so experts began experimenting with using it to freeze and store
organs for transplants.
Then Dr. Stanley Jacob at the University of Oregon Medical School discovered that
DMSO relieved burn pains and prevented scar tissue formation. He published his results
in 1963, and from then on DMSO use and experimentation spread like wildfire. It follows
logically that a substance that can prevent scar tissue formation should also be able to
soften or dissolve existing scar tissue and in this capacity, DMSO also does not
disappoint.
6
Therapeutic Uses for DMSO
Since then, DMSO has been widely used with professional athletes (from football
players to Olympic gymnasts) where it has proven effective with injuries to soft tissue or
joint defusions, sprains, strains, dislocations, tendonitis, bursitis, gout, soft tissue tears,
myositis (muscle inflammation), broken bones, and tennis elbow. Pain is relieved,
swelling subsides, and function is recovered more quickly.
Today, we have reams of evidence (from medical doctors and/or PhD scientists)
showing that DMSO can also (1):
• Increase and enhance cell-mediated immunity in autoimmune diseases like
multiple sclerosis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, lymphoid
thryroiditis, etc.
• Make the immune system more effective by allowing macrophages to move
around and through the tissues faster. It can also diminish allergic reactions.
• Increase the permeability of cell membranes, allowing toxins to be flushed from
the cell.
• Substitute for water in the living cell, then bind to free radicals and form a
substance (dimethyl sulfone plus water with the hydroxyl ion) which can then be
excreted out of the body via urine.
• Prevent the formation of scar tissue or adhesions, or dissolve them once present.
• Kill or slow the growth of bacteria, viruses and fungi.
• Greatly reduce or eliminate inflammation, swelling, and pain.
• Quickly heal skin ulcerations, infected wounds, second and third degree burns
and other skin lesions. In a study of 1,371 patients with these varying afflictions
7
who were treated with DMSO, 95.04% were discharged as completely cured.
Some of these patients had diabetic leg ulcers which had been present for over
15 years – they were completely healed after daily topical DMSO spray
applications for 20 days. (2)
• Clear cataracts, macular degeneration and glaucoma of the eyes – you can
purchase glutathione/DMSO/vitamin C eye drops from specialist compounding
pharmacies like ApotheCure.
• And much more!
How Does DMSO Work?
How is it that one substance can effect or facilitate such a wide range of healing
mechanisms? As Dr. Stanley Jacob says:
"We've barely scratched the surface, for this is a new principle in
medicine. We've had only three new principles in our century – the
antibiotic principle, the cortisone principle, and now the DMSO principle –
and the DMSO principle is the only new one of our generation.
DMSO is literally water's alter ego. It moves through membranes and
substitutes for water so that it pulls substances through cells that
ordinarily would not move through them. This is its basic mechanism of
action. The DMSO-water bond is 1.3 times stronger than the water-water
bond." (3)
Dr. Morton Walker summarizes DMSO's healing mechanism in his book, DMSO Nature's
Healer:
"This attribute of bonding with water better than water molecules
themselves is highly significant. It probably is what makes DMSO an
8
entirely different healing power than anything medical science has known
before.
The basic therapeutic principle of DMSO is that cellular damage can be
altered – the cell healed and restored to near normal – by changing the
water structure within the cell. It represents an entirely different means of
treating diseases – not as an ordinary drug that works for a given
disease, but as a holistic ingredient that brings whole-body cellular
function back to normal." (4)
Cautions In Using DMSO
DMSO non-selectively opens up your tissues to take up whatever is in their environment,
so for this reason you have to be very careful with what you store it in (should be dark-
colored glass), what's on your fingers or on your skin where you are applying it, and any
instruments you use to apply it with. Stainless steel, glass, ceramic, or wood are all safe
materials to use with DMSO. You also need to keep it well out of reach of children.
For myself, I make sure my hands and the area I'm applying it to have been washed with
a natural soap and water, and that there are no creams, lotions, perfumes, etc. on my
skin. I also try not to use any plastic in contact with DMSO – sometimes this is
unavoidable (as in the suppository molds), but I do my best wherever/however I can.
For this reason, when applying DMSO rectally, you want to get your rectum as clear of
feces as you can. Obviously, this is not entirely possible, but as long as you have had a
decent bowel movement, you should be okay. If it's any consolation, bacteria and other
microorganisms from your feces have already been absorbed into your bloodstream
through the mucosal lining of your GI tract. And if you have a fissure, all the contents of
your feces have had direct contact with your bloodstream. So applying DMSO (which
transports substances across cell membranes) in the rectal environment is as big a deal,
in terms of contamination, as it may first appear.
9
When you get to the suppository instructions, you’ll see that we need to use either a
rubber suppository mold or plastic drinking straws for the suppository mold. Yes, this is
not ideal, but unless you can afford a $300 metal urethral suppository mold (this is what
we use to make FissureHeal), then plastic is our only option. Lab technicians have been
using DMSO for decades and they have a trick to determine whether their protective
gloves are safe to use with DMSO. They take their glove and fill one finger with DMSO
and leave it overnight. If it has not disintegrated by morning, the glove is safe to use.
I have made the HemorrHeal suppositories in both a standard-size rubber suppository
mold and in narrow plastic drinking straws and left both for 24 hours and they have been
fine. Don’t forget, we are also using a very low concentration of DMSO in these formulas
and the DMSO is also contained within cocoa butter, which helps to buffer it.
Now that you've got some basic background and understanding of DMSO, let me tell you
how we're using it lately.
WARNING: Please be 100% clear that these are experimental protocols that have been
used by me, members of my LTYG Wellness Circle and some followers of Dr. Jonathan
V. Wright, MD. They have not been tested nor approved by any regulatory body – so you
proceed entirely at your own risk.
Hemorrhoid Remedy
I came across an article on Dr. Jonathan V. Wright's website that outlined the use of
potassium iodide to treat hemorrhoids. The hemorrhoids apparently healed very quickly,
sometimes even overnight. The article also mentioned that the treatment is effective for
healing fistulas (abnormal passages) when mixed with DMSO, but it takes several
months to achieve complete healing of fistulas.
As a result of my other research, I also wondered if this mixture would be effective with
anal stenosis or strictures as well. Anal stenosis is a narrowing of the anal area or rectal
canal, often caused by trauma, scar tissue, or the thickening of mucosal tissue. We also
tested Dr. Wright’s formula with rectal strictures and scar tissue, and it was a good
10
jumping off platform for an effective protocol I developed for anal strictures and stenosis
called StrictureHeal.
For now, let’s turn our attention entirely to healing hemorrhoids. Dr. Wright’s formula was
devised for external hemorrhoids and the formula Dr. Wright M.D., gives is:
• 20 drops potassium iodide (also known as SSKI)
• 1 ounce flax oil
However, I modified this formula because I intuitively felt I would see better results in
swelling and inflammation reduction if I added DMSO to the formula. Next, flax oil needs
to be kept in the fridge (to prevent rancidity), which changes the viscosity of DMSO and
prevents it from staying mixed in the formula.
The oil is necessary to reduce the “sting” of the potassium iodide, but I don't like to use
oil as it can leave the area moist, which can get itchy and exacerbate infection. I found
that George's "Always Active" Aloe Vera Juice works just as well to eliminate the sting, is
absorbed quickly, and carries its own beneficial healing actions.
So, after testing it on myself and a number of others at the JPT Wellness Circle, I have
called my revised formula HemorrHeal. My HemorrHeal formula and usage instructions
for each specific rectal condition are below, (but you are certainly free to use Dr. Wright's
formula, if you prefer):
• HemorrHeal for external hemorrhoids
• HemorrHeal Suppositories for internal hemorrhoids
• Liquid HemorrHeal for internal hemorrhoids
I have provided two formulations for those with internal hemorrhoids, depending on your
application preference. Personally, I find the suppositories easier to use, but they are a
lot more hassle to make. So you’ll have to take a look at each, maybe test them and
then determine which you prefer.
11
HemorrHeal For External Hemorrhoids
• 1.5 tablespoons George's "Always Active" Aloe Vera Juice
• 20 drops (1/4 tsp) potassium iodide (SSKI)
• 1/2 teaspoon liquid 99% concentration DMSO
1. Mix ingredients together in a glass measuring cup with a pour spout.
2. Pour into a 1-ounce amber glass bottle. Store at room temperature away from light
and heat.
3. Apply liberally (really soak the hemorrhoids) at bedtime with your finger, organic
cotton bud (Q-Tip), or soft, natural fiber paintbrush. Wear 100% cotton underwear to
prevent any staining on your sheet, but still allow the area to breathe. Or, you can
sleep on top of a cotton towel – both DMSO and potassium iodide will stain fabrics, so
protect your sheets.
4. If you have trouble reaching your hemorrhoids, then get into “hemorrhoid position”
where you are kneeling on the floor or bed. But instead of kneeling on your hands and
knees, you are on your elbows and knees, with your butt raised in the air. This
automatically spreads your buttocks and opens the anal area allowing for easy
access to your hemorrhoids.
I prefer to use a natural fiber paintbrush to apply the formula – this provides the best
coverage with the least wastage. You can get natural hair brushes at art stores, or
anywhere they sell good quality cosmetics – a natural hair eyeshadow brush works well.
Clean your brush with warm, soapy water after use and stand upright to dry.
12
Dosage for External Hemorrhoids:
• Apply before bed at night every night for 10 nights. Then take a one-week break.
Then If still needed, apply every night for 2 weeks. Then take another one-week
break. If still needed, start the dosage cycle again at the beginning. BUT,
hemorrhoids will likely heal in the first week or two. If you use it for longer than 3
months, you should monitor your thyroid levels.
• Simultaneously, take 250 mg of magnesium citrate and 100 mg of potassium
citrate, together after a good breakfast or good lunch. This acts as a muscle
relaxant for the anal sphincter muscle, to facilitate easier bowel movements.
However, if you tend towards diarrhea, then don't ingest the magnesium.
Whether you tend towards diarrhea or constipation, use a stool softener/bulking
agent like pysllium, flax, chia, or MetaCleanse during treatment to keep your stool
soft and to reduce stress/irritation on the rectum. This is a very important step!
You will not have the same success with this remedy if you are simultaneously
struggling with diarrhea or constipation – both of which are hard on the rectum.
So use the MetaCleanse to bulk up and soften stools, making them easier to
pass.
13
HemorrHeal For Internal Hemorrhoids
This suppository version of the formula works really well for internal hemorrhoids (which
require both healing and reduction in mass). I had internal hemorrhoids since the birth of
my daughter six years ago. The bioflavonoids (as advised in my book, Listen To Your
Gut) definitely helped shrink them and reduce their severity, but they never completely
disappeared. Also, I had to continuously ingest the bioflavonoids to receive the beneficial
effect.
As most of you know, my definition of "health" does not involve taking supplements
endlessly! Well, the good news is, with this suppository formula, my internal hemorrhoids
healed within one week. I kid you not. It has now been 18 months and they have not
reappeared, so I would say it's a pretty good long-term healing protocol! Here is the
formula:
HemorrHeal Rectal Suppository Formula for Internal Hemorrhoids
• 20 drops (1/4 tsp) potassium iodide (also known as SSKI)
• 1 ounce (2 tbsp) organic cocoa butter, melted
• 1/2 tsp. 99% DMSO
1. Fill a large bowl with about 2 inches of boiling hot water.
2. Put the cocoa butter in a small bowl and place this small bowl in the center of the hot
water in the large bowl. Make sure the water level is low enough that no water comes
into the small bowl.
3. Stir the cocoa butter around until it melts.
4. Remove the small bowl to the counter and add the rest of the ingredients to the
melted cocoa butter, stirring continuously.
5. Pour immediately into molds – you can either buy rubber or silicone suppository
molds (but they are quite thick in diameter) or you can use drinking straws for the
14
mold to produce thinner suppositories. Or, you can hand-shape your suppositories:
As the cocoa butter cools, it will begin to harden. While it is still soft, form the mixture
into suppositories of the desired length and width, by rolling and shaping them in the
palm of your hand. Personally, I've never gotten this hand-shaping method to work
well for me, so I prefer pouring into a mold.
It is a hassle to use drinking straws for the mold, but if your rectum is really sore, then
the narrow suppository produced by the straw will be well worth it. Here’s how you
turn the drinking straws into suppository molds:
Take 10 drinking straws and fold over the end of each straw, one and a half inches
from the end of the straw. Tape the folded end tightly with masking tape to create a
sealed end:
Take a piece of Styrofoam (or floral foam) at least one inch thick to serve as a base,
or anchoring platform for your drinking straw molds. Use a sharp knife to pierce
directly down into the foam and wiggle slightly to open up the cut. Insert the taped
end of the drinking straw into the cut in the foam. The straw should now be protruding
straight up out of the foam (perpendicular to the foam) with the open end of the straw
at the top.
Make the rest of your cuts into the foam about ½ inch apart and insert all of the
straws. Place the foam on a piece of wax paper or cardboard, as you will likely have
leakage from over-pouring, mistakes, etc. Here’s a rough sketch of what your finished
tray of molds will look like:
15
Tip: If using drinking straws for the mold, you may want to make a double batch, as
you may waste a lot until you learn how to pour into such a narrow opening.
Alternate Method: Another way to use drinking straws as molds is to put one end of
a straw into the bowl of ingredients and to suck on the other end of the straw, drawing
the mixture up to a level one inch below the top. Buy fairly transparent straws so you
can watch the level as you draw the mixture slowly up. Leaving one end of the straw
still immersed in the mixture, pinch the end near your mouth to maintain suction.
Then take the end out of your mouth with your fingers, turn it upside down so the
mixture can’t run out and immediately fold over this bottom end to about 1 inch. Tape
that end tightly with masking tape to create a sealed end (you can practice with a
glass of water until you are comfortable with the dynamics of the operation!). You will
now have a straw one-half to two-thirds full of mixture, with air trapped at the taped
end. Stand them up in the foam block. The trapped air portion is good for squeezing
the formed suppository out of the open end when “set”.
6. Place these suppository molds on a sheet of wax paper and leave at room
temperature (or in a cool place) to harden – but don't put them in the fridge –
remember that if the DMSO gets cold, it changes viscosity and will separate out from
the formula, so DO NOT REFRIGERATE. They will take 12 to 24 hours to harden.
7. Once solid, remove from the suppository mold (or drinking straw) by running the mold
under hot water for about 5 seconds to melt the top layer. Then slide the
suppositories out onto the wax paper. If using the drinking straw molds, squeeze out
16
the suppository from the bottom up, keeping the straw level to the paper, to prevent
breakage. Leave them on the wax paper to fully harden again (about 1/2 hour) and
then break into desired lengths and place in a glass container together. Keep at room
temperature or in a cool place – but DO NOT REFRIGERATE! For myself, I break the
drinking straw suppositories into ½ inch lengths. I find that if they are longer, it's too
much liquid when it melts and it will just leak back out anyway. I then store these in a
small, amber glass jar and place in a drawer or cupboard – away from light and heat.
I know it's a hassle to make the suppositories yourself - especially getting them thin
enough to insert into a narrowed rectum! But the relief is so very worth it. You can
also buy a regular-sized suppository mold from a compounding pharmacy or on the
Internet, but if you want to make super-thin suppositories, then you can use drinking
straws as the mold.
8. Insert one suppository per day until your internal hemorrhoids are gone. I found I got
more leakage if I lay down after insertion. So I would insert the suppository during the
day, after a bowel movement, as I found staying upright and walking around (not
sitting!) resulted in the least leakage. But still, wear a natural cotton panty liner, or use
folded Kleenex to catch the leakage and prevent staining. You may find it works
better to insert one just before bed – in that case, protect your sheets from any
leakage/staining.
Suppository Dosage for Internal Hemorrhoids:
• Use one suppository per day for 10 days. Then take a one-week break. If still
needed, then use 1 suppository per day for 2 weeks. Then take a one-week
break. If still needed, start the dosage cycle again at the beginning. BUT, internal
hemorrhoids will likely heal in the first week or two. If you use suppositories for
longer than 3 months, you should monitor your thyroid levels.
• Simultaneously take 250 mg of magnesium citrate and 100 mg of potassium
citrate, together after a good breakfast, or a good lunch. This acts as a muscle
relaxant for the anal sphincter muscle to facilitate easier bowel movements.
However, if you tend towards diarrhea, then don't ingest the magnesium.
17
Whether you tend towards diarrhea or constipation, use a stool softener/bulking
agent, like pysllium, flax, chia, or MetaCleanse during treatment to keep your
stool soft and reduce stress/irritation on the rectum. This is a very important step!
You will not have the same success with this remedy if you are simultaneously
struggling with diarrhea or constipation – both of which are hard on the rectum.
So use the MetaCleanse to bulk up and soften stools, making them easier to
pass. If you have a lot of irritation in your rectal area, then you may want to use 2
suppositories per day.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Although the suppositories are a hassle to make, many people find
them more convenient than applying a liquid up the rectum (due to leakage, difficulty
applying, etc.). On the other hand, if you use the liquid, you can use a stronger formula
(we can’t put as much DMSO in the suppositories as this will prevent them from
hardening). So you may want to test both and see which you prefer. If you prefer a liquid
that you just squeeze up your rectum, use this formula for HemorrHeal Liquid and follow
the application instructions below:
HemorrHeal Liquid Formula for Internal Hemorrhoids
• 1.5 tablespoons George's "Always Active" Aloe Vera Juice
• 20 drops (1/4 tsp) potassium iodide (SSKI)
• 1/2 teaspoon liquid 99% concentration DMSO
1. Mix ingredients together using stainless steel measuring spoons, in a glass
measuring cup with a pour spout.
2. Pour into a 1-ounce amber glass dropper bottle. Store at room temperature away
from light and heat.
3. Squirt 15 drops up your rectum whenever it is most clear of feces. The best position
to ensure the mixture doesn’t just leak back out again is to lie on your back and roll
back and up so your legs are above your head (sort of like shoulder stand position in
yoga). But instead of straightening your legs above your head, you keep your knees
bent and relaxed so your rectum stays open.
18
You then insert the dropper (pre-loaded with 15 drops of formula) into your rectum
and squeeze the bulb to release the formula. Keep bulb depressed (squeezed) as
you withdraw the dropper. Stay in the position for at least 5 minutes to allow the
mixture to absorb.
Your other option is to get into “hemorrhoid position” where you are kneeling on the
floor or bed. But instead of kneeling on your hands and knees, you are on your
elbows and knees, with your butt raised in the air. This automatically spreads your
buttocks and opens the anal area allowing for easy access to your rectum.
If you still get leakage, you may need to lower your chest even closer to the ground to
increase the angle. In that case, you would rest on your forehead, rather than your
elbows. You then insert the dropper (pre-loaded with 15 drops of formula) into your
rectum and squeeze the bulb to release the formula. Keep bulb depressed
(squeezed) as you withdraw the dropper. Stay in the position for at least 5 to 10 minutes
to allow the mixture to absorb.
Wash the dropper afterwards with hot soapy water. Suck some of the hot, soapy
water up inside the dropper and then squirt it back out again to clean the inside of the
dropper. Do this several times and also rinse with clean hot water. Dry thoroughly with
19
a tissue, then insert dropper back into formula bottle and close tightly. Store away
from light or heat.
When you stand up, or lie down in bed, you may get some leakage. So wear a natural
cotton panty liner, or use folded Kleenex to absorb leakage. If going to bed, then wear
100% cotton underwear to prevent any staining on your sheets – but still allow the
area to breathe. Or, you can sleep on top of a cotton towel – both DMSO and
potassium iodide will stain fabrics, so protect your sheets.
Liquid Dosage for Internal Hemorrhoids:
• Insert 15 drops, once per day, for 10 days. Then take a one-week break. If still
needed, then apply again, once per day, for 2 weeks. Then take a one-week
break. If still needed, start the dosage cycle again at the beginning. BUT, internal
hemorrhoids will likely heal in the first week or two. If you use it for longer than 3
months, you should monitor your thyroid levels.
• Whether you tend towards diarrhea or constipation, use a stool softener/bulking
agent, like pysllium, flax, chia, or MetaCleanse during treatment to keep your
stool soft and reduce stress/irritation on the rectum. This is a very important step!
You will not have the same success with this remedy if you are simultaneously
struggling with diarrhea or constipation – both of which are hard on the rectum.
So use the MetaCleanse to bulk up and soften stools, making them easier to
pass.

Address The Root Cause
In this ebook, I have given you a powerful formula to heal your hemorrhoids. However,
long-term healing involves addressing and healing whatever is causing those
hemorrhoids in the first place. For most people, hemorrhoids are caused by one or a
combination of the following factors:
1. Straining to defecate and/or improper defecation position – If you suffer from
chronic constipation, then I strongly advise you to get my book, Listen To Your Colon:
The Complete Natural Healing Guide For Constipation, as you need a comprehensive
treatment protocol that addresses all the variables involved (diet, probiotic regimen,
impacted feces, bowel cleansing, re-training the bowel, eliminating pathogenic
bacteria, etc.). If you only occasionally or rarely get constipated, then using this
treatment protocol may be sufficient:
• Take 7-10 billion c.f.u. (colony forming units) of Natren brand probiotics per day to
begin the process of normalizing your bowel flora.
• If the day ends and you have not had a bowel movement, then take MetaCleanse
before breakfast the next day – follow the dosage instructions on the package
(detailed dosage instructions are on ). If you do not have
a bowel movement that day (after taking the MetaCleanse), then take 250 mg of
magnesium citrate and 100 mg of potassium citrate before you go to bed that
night. Continue this routine, taking MetaCleanse in the morning, but increasing
the magnesium dosage each night (up to 1000 mg) until you have a bowel
movement. After your bowel movement, continue to take MetaCleanse (or eat
soaked chia or flaxseed) daily for maintenance. Remember to drink 8 to 10
glasses of filtered or spring water per day.
• Go and watch my videos on my site: www.ListenToYourColon.com on
Constipation Pooping Positions and Self-Administered Colonic Massage. Use
these techniques before and during a bowel movement to reduce the need to
strain and to facilitate a more complete evacuation. At the very least, put your
feet on a child’s stepping stool when sitting on the toilet – to raise your knees
21
www.LTYGshoppe.com
higher than your hips – as this helps to straighten and open your rectum. The
western practice of just sitting on the toilet prevents the rectum from straightening
out and opening – making us much more prone to constipation and hemorrhoids!
If you have the flexibility and balance, it’s best to squat on the toilet, or you can
purchase squatting platforms on the Internet that fit around your toilet.
2. Trauma to the rectum – this trauma could be caused by surgery, or childbirth, or
some other unusual, non-recurring event. In these cases, HemorrHeal alone may be
all you need to heal your hemorrhoids and prevent them from recurring.
3. Weak blood vessels - If your gums bleed when you brush your teeth, or your nose
bleeds when it’s dry or you blow it forcefully, or you’re prone to anal or rectal fissures,
or varicose veins, or hemorrhoids, these are signs that you need to strengthen your
blood vessels. These supplements will help you to do that over a 3 to 6 month period,
so begin supplementing as follows in addition to using HemorrHeal:
• Supplement with Bioflavonoids - Bioflavonoids (including rutin, hesperidin and
quercetin) are plant compounds that act synergistically with vitamin C to
strengthen vein and capillary walls so they don’t tear and bleed so easily. They
are produced by plants to protect themselves from bacteria, parasites and cell
injury. Bioflavonoids have also been shown to reduce back and leg pain, promote
circulation, treat and prevent cataracts, stimulate bile production, and lower
cholesterol levels – so you’ll receive a lot of side-benefits too!
• Get a brand that contains at least 50 mg each of rutin, hesperidin and quercetin.
If you also suffer from hay fever, take 400 mg of quercetin per day as quercetin
regulates histamine release from the cells and you’ll see a big improvement (if
not elimination) of your allergies.
• Supplement with Vitamin C - As mentioned above, vitamin C works synergistically
with bioflavonoids to prevent bleeding (and help bleeding clot faster) in all
mucous membranes. Mucous membranes are the type of tissue on your lips and
inside of your nose, genitals, rectum and intestinal tract. Vitamin C is an
antioxidant which is required for at least 300 different metabolic functions in the
22
body, including adrenal gland function, tissue growth and repair, protection
against infection, and cancer prevention.
Vitamin C in its common ascorbic acid form can cause diarrhea in higher
dosages. Therefore, you may want to get Vitamin C in mineral ascorbate form
(e.g. calcium ascorbate). High doses of magnesium can also cause diarrhea, so
avoid vitamin C in magnesium ascorbate form, if you are susceptible to loose
bowels. The mineral ascorbate form is also preferable, as it’s more readily
absorbed – ascorbic acid has to first be converted to mineral ascorbates by the
body prior to absorption.
Another delicious way to get your daily vitamin C in mineral ascorbate form (for
ongoing use) is by using Emergen-C – handy single-serving packets naturally
flavored in a variety of yummy flavours. These are especially useful for kids since
they are like drinking a ‘”fizzy juice” and kids love them. Raspberry, lemon-lime,
and Super Orange are the favourite flavours in our family.
4. Irritation from chronic diarrhea – people who’ve had 5 to 20 bowel movements per
day for months or years, can be prone to anal/rectal fissures, and sometimes to
hemorrhoids. In this case, you likely have an intestinal infection or systemic illness at
the root of the diarrhea, and you really need the comprehensive treatment instructions
in my book, Listen To Your Gut.
As a short-term fix though, while you’re waiting for the book to arrive – or perhaps
you’ve suffered food poisoning or traveller’s diarrhea – you can use this routine to
absorb excess water and bulk up your stool, preventing so many bowel movements
each day:
• Take MetaCleanse daily – The bentonite clay, psyllium and flaxseed in
MetaCleanse work synergistically to absorb excess water from your bowel –
rendering your stool soft and spongy, thereby promoting regular bowel
movements. When you have too much water in your colon, it results in an
urgency to defecate and often in explosive bowel movements. MetaCleanse
absorbs the extra water, reducing the urgency and frequency of diarrhea
23
I have full usage instructions at www.LTYGshoppe.com, but in most cases, you
can start with adding 2 heaping tablespoons of MetaCleanse to 8 oz. of water or
fruit juice – apple, pineapple, grape or cranberry juice work best; mixing with
citrus juice may produce gas. Take once or twice a day (first thing in the morning
and before bed are usually best). MetaCleanse can be taken at any time of day;
however, to establish a routine and promote regularity, I suggest taking
MetaCleanse at about the same time each day. Make sure you are also drinking
at least 8 glasses of filtered or spring water daily.
• Also go to YouTube and watch my video on Self-Administered Colonic Massage
as this will help you to get more of the stool around and out in one go, rather than
small amounts in multiple bowel movements.
If you also address the root cause(s) of your hemorrhoids, either prior to, or at the same
time as using HemorrHeal, you will have the highest chance of preventing a recurrence.
The great thing about having a tool like HemorrHeal however, is that even if it takes you
some time to heal the underlying causes, you still have a potent treatment you can use
to heal any hemorrhoids if they recur.
Since this is one of our newer treatment protocols, it would be very valuable for me to
have your feedback (in as much detail as you can) as to what you implemented and how
it worked for you. Pooling our experience will help me to refine and produce even more
effective treatment protocols. So please email me (and if it didn’t work for you, I also
want to know about that): [email protected]
