A Word from Fr. Andrew

We welcome today at the 10:30am mass all the youthwho are receiving their first holy communion. We alsowelcome their families and friends who are here tosupport them in the celebration. Thank you to all whohave played a role in their preparation.

Today is the 2nd Sunday of Easter, also known as DivineMercy Sunday. We are privileged to have this image ofJesus Christ permanently hanging on the wall behind thechoir area (opposite side of the tabernacle). We shouldalways be reminded of the divine mercy that awaits all ofus, that is, when we desire to be set free from oursinfulness. The divine inspiration of the image was givento St. Faustina Kowalska. The image contains thewords: Jesus, I Trust in You. On April 22, 2001, PopeJohn Paul II reflected on this phrase: "[...] 'Jesus, I trustin you'. This prayer, dear to so many of the devout, clearly expresses the attitude with which we too wouldlike to abandon ourselves trustfully in your hands, OLord, our only Saviour. You are burning with the desireto be loved and those in tune with the sentiments of yourheart learn how to build the new civilization of love. Asimple act of abandonment is enough to overcome thebarriers of darkness and sorrow, of doubt anddesperation. The rays of your divine mercy restore hope,in a special way, to those who feel overwhelmed by theburden of sin. Mary, Mother of Mercy, help us always tohave this trust in your Son, our Redeemer. Help us too,St. Faustina, whom we remember today with specialaffection. Fixing our weak gaze on the divine Saviour'sface, we would like to repeat with you: 'Jesus, I trust inyou'. Now and forever. Amen. [...]"

Have a great week and God bless!

Faith Formation HappeningsTypically, we always try to thank everyone involved because they have so kindly

done something for the Faith Formation Ministry. Sometimes in haste, mistakes

are made and I would leave out name or two. For this I apologize! Even though it

was mentioned in general, I would like to list those who were instrumental, in any

way that provided for you the wonderfully orchestrated Living Stations on Good

Friday!!

When you see them, please thank them for their part in helping it become a

success!!

• Musicians: Art and Barb Straub, Jeanne Logelin.

• Directors: Stacy Shepherd, Stacy Straub, Yvonne Guckeen

• All of the Parents and Grandparents who got them to practice and helped

with costumes.

The following participants, did an absolutely AMAZING job with their parts...I was

so very proud of them as they were very reverent in their portrayal and work to

make the Living Stations prayerful for all who attended.

Participants:

Jack and Rachel Ammann, Molly Hennen, Andrew Lansing, Devin McMillen,

Lauren Miller, Emma Osborne, Alex and Riley Shepherd, Ben Smykalski, Keegan,

Kiandra and Koreyann Straub, Caroline and Hattie Tuck, Maddie and Sammi
