Be sure to use only dry-erase markers on the write & wipe game boards. To prevent ink from beading, prime the boards by drawing on them with a dry-erase marker, and then erase by rubbing vigorously with a dry textured cloth or paper towel. Repeat if necessary. Remember to wipe away any markings left on the game boards before putting them away. Do not allow markings to remain overnight.

Before You BeginAttach each spinner to a game board by inserting the stem throughthe board and snapping the back into place. Show students the mate-rials and explain how the games are played. Point out that the ques-tion cards are color-coded, so it’s easy to keep them organized. (Anydeck of cards can be used with any game.) Provide write & wipemarkers and timers, if desired. Then, invite children to play the gamesand let the learning begin!

How to PlayFor all of the games:• Begin by shuffling the question cards and stacking them facedown

on one of the empty spaces on the game board. Have each playerchoose a game piece and place it on “Start.” Decide who will gofirst. Then, follow the rules for each game below.

• Adjust the time limits for answering the questions if needed.

• At the end of each turn, place your question card faceup in the otherempty space to form a discard pile. If you run out of question cardsbefore the game is over, shuffle the discard pile and keep playing!

• If desired, the games can end after a set amount of time. When thetime is up, the person with the highest score wins the game.

Football Frenzy!• On your turn, draw a ques-

tion card. You have 10 sec-onds to answer the ques-tion correctly. If you fail,try again next time. If yousucceed, spin the spinner tosee how far you shouldmove down the field.

Fumble! Lose a Turn: Stay where you are.

Penalty! Back 10 Yards: Move backwards 10 yards, if possible.
