How important is it to get involved in extra-curricular activities?
Getting involved in extra-curricular activities is very important if you want to enter a top university after completing A-levels.
These activities are important for developing personal qualities such as leadership, team work, commitment, independence, social awareness, and presentation skills and help to boost a university personal statement.
They can also be good fun and relaxing.
What kind of extra-curricular activities would increase the chance of acceptance into top universities?
This depends upon the subjects you are studying at A-level, your potential university course, your likes and current skills and experience (and areas where these can be improved).
The careers team and mentors can advise but with more than 40 to choose from at JLC there is something for everyone!
Activities include:
“I would advise students to take advantage of all the fantastic opportunities at John Leggott College. I wouldn’t be doing what I do now if it wasn’t for them giving me the extra skills I needed.”Guo Xian Guang, Guangzhou, ChinaAnalyst, Zeal Asset Management Ltd (Hong Hong)
