Important safety informationIt is most important that this instruction book should be retained withthe appliance for future reference. Should the appliance be sold ortransferred to another owner, or should you move house and leave theappliance, always ensure that the book is supplied with the appliance inorder that the new owner can get to know the functioning of theappliance and the relevant warnings.These warnings have been provided in the interest of safety. In the interest of your safety and toensure the correct use, beforeinstalling and first using the appliance,read this user manual carefully,including its hints and warnings. Toavoid unnecessary mistakes andaccidents, it is important to ensurethat all people using the appliance arethoroughly familiar with its operationand safety features. Save theseinstructions and make sure that theyremain with the appliance if it ismoved or sold, so that everyoneusing it through its life will beproperly informed on appliance useand safety.If you are unsure of the meanings ofthese warnings contact the JohnLewis branch from which youpurchased the appliance.

Installation• This appliance is heavy. Care should be

taken when moving it.

• Check the appliance r for any transportdamage. Never connect a damagedmachine. If the appliance is damagedcontact your supplier.

• All packaging must be removed beforeuse.

• Any electrical and plumbing workrequired to install this appliance must becarried out by a qualified and competentperson.

• For safety reasons it is dangerous to alterthe specifications or attempt to modifythis product in any way.

• Never use the appliance if the electricalsupply cable and water hoses aredamaged; or if the control panel, worktop or plinth area are damaged such thatthe inside of the appliance is freelyaccessible. Contact your local repairagent, in order to avoid hazard.

• All sides of the appliance must never bedrilled to prevent damage to hydraulic andelectric components.

For electrical and water connectioncarefully follow the instructions givenin the specific paragraphs.

Child safety• This appliance is designed to be operated

by adults. Children should not be allowedto tamper with the controls or play withthe appliance.

• Keep all packaging well away fromchildren. There is a risk of suffocation.

• Keep all detergents in a safe place out ofchildren’s reach.

• Keep children well away from theappliance when the door is open.

Correct use• This appliance is only intended for

washing household utensils suitable formachine washing.

• Do not put any solvents in the appliance.This could cause an explosion.

• Knives and other items with sharp pointsmust be loaded in the cutlery basket withtheir points down or placed in ahorizontal position in the upper basket.

• Only use products (detergent, salt andrinse aid) suitable for dishwashers.

• Avoid opening the door whilst theappliance is in operation, hot steam mayescape.

• Do not take any dishes out of theappliance before the end of the washingcycle.

• After use, isolate the appliance from thepower supply and turn off the watersupply.

• This product should be serviced only byan authorised service engineer, and onlygenuine spare parts should be used.

• Under no circumstances should youattempt to repair the appliance yourself.Repairs carried out by inexperiencedpersons could cause injury or seriousmalfunctioning. Contact your local repair

agent. Always insist on genuine spareparts.

General safety• Persons (including children) with reduced

physical sensory, mental capabilities orlack of experience and knowledge mustnot use the appliance. They must havesupervision or instruction for theoperation of the appliance by a personresponsible for their safety.

• Dishwasher detergents can causechemical burns to eyes, mouth and throat.Could endanger life! Comply with thesafety instructions of the dishwasherdetergent manufacturer.

• The water in your appliance is not fordrinking. Detergent residue may still bepresent in the appliance.

• Ensure that the appliance door is alwaysclosed when it is not being loaded orunloaded. In this way you will avoidanybody tripping over the open door andhurting themselves.

• Do not sit or stand on the open door.

Service• This product should be serviced by an

authorised service engineer and onlygenuine spare parts should be used.

Ecological hints

To save water and energy and help protectthe environment, we recommend that youfollow these hints:• Ensure that the water softener is correctly

adjusted.• Do not prewash under running water.• Select the wash programme to suit the

nature and degree of the soiling on thedishes.

• Do not use more detergent, dishwashersalt and rinse aid than is recommended inthese operating instructions and by themanufacturer of the respective product.

• Delay start: When possible programmeyour appliance to run over night, toenable, for example, the use ofeconomical overnight electricity tariffs.

• 45°-70° Auto Wash Programme:This appliance is fitted with a turbiditysensor which intelligently adjusts thetemperature and rinsing cycles during thewash programme, depending on thedegree of soiling on the dishes. This helpsto reduce energy and water consumptionon lightly soiled loads.

• Half load: This option is useful andeconomical when baskets are not fullyloaded.

EnvironmentalinformationThe packaging materials are environmentallyfriendly and can be recycled. The plasticcomponents are identified by markings, e.g.

>PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of thepackaging materials in the appropriatecontainer at the community waste disposalfacilities.

When a unit is no longer being used:• Pull the plug out of the socket.• Cut off the cable and plug and

dispose of them.• Dispose of the door catch. This

prevents children from trappingthemselves inside and endangeringtheir lives.

Insteadit should be taken to the appropriatecollection point for the recycling of electricaland electronic equipment. The digital display

The digital display indicates:• the level of hardness to which the

water softener is set,• the approximate remaining time of

the running programme,• activation/deactivation of the rinse

aid dispenser (ONLY with Multitab function active),

• the end of a washing programme(zero will appear in the digitaldisplay),

• the countdown for the delay start,• fault codes concerning malfunction

of the dishwasher.

Multi tab buttonAllows the use of combi detergent tablets (3in 1 - 4 in 1 - 5 in 1, etc...). See ''Multi tabfunction''.

Function buttons (A, Band C)In addition to the washing programmeselected, the following functions can also beset using these buttons:• setting the water softener level,• cancelling a washing programme or a

delay start in progress,• activation/deactivation of the rinse aid

dispenser (ONLY with Multi tab functionactive).

Half load buttonThis option is useful and economical whenbaskets are not fully loaded. It reduces theconsumption of water and energy.Remember to load both baskets.

When using this option we recommend thatyou reduce the dose of detergent that isnormally used for a complete load.Press the half load button to activate theoption:• the half load option is NOT available with

''45°-70° Auto'' programme; the half loadindicator light will not come on when thehalf load button is pressed.

• the half load option is available with all theother programmes; the half load indicatorlight comes on when the half load buttonis pressed. This option has no impact onsome washing programmes. Refer to''Washing programmes'' section.

Indicator lightsIn addition to the programme indicator lightsthat allow you to see which programme isrunning or has been selected, other indicatorlights will help you in the use andmaintenance of your dishwasher.

1) The salt and rinse aid indicator lights are never onwhile a washing programme is running even if fillingwith salt and/or rinse aid is necessary.

Setting modePress the On/Off button; if ALLprogramme lights are on the appliance is insetting mode.

Always remember that whenperforming operations such as:• selecting a washing programme,• setting the water softener level,• activating/deactivating the rinse aid

dispenser,the appliance MUST be in settingmode.

Press the On/Off button; if a programmelight comes on , the last performed orselected programme is still set.

In this case, to return to setting mode, theprogramme has to be cancelled.To cancel a set programme or aprogramme in progressSimultaneously press and hold the twofunction buttons B and C until all theprogramme lights come on.The programme has been cancelled and theappliance is now in setting mode.

1) During the Auto washing programme the level of soiling on the dishes is determined by how cloudy the water is.The programme duration, water and energy consumption levels can vary; this depends upon whether theappliance is fully or partially loaded and if the dishes are lightly or heavily soiled. The temperature of the water isautomatically adjusted between 45° C and 70° C.

2) Test programme for test institutes.3) Ideal for washing a partially loaded dishwasher. This is the perfect daily programme, made to meet the needs of a

When the dishwasher is firstinstalledBefore using your dishwasher for the firsttime:• Ensure that the electrical and water

connections comply with the installationinstructions

• Remove all packaging from inside theappliance.

• Set the water softener level.• Pour 1 litre of water into the salt

container and then fill with dishwashersalt.

• Fill the rinse aid dispenser.

If you want to use combi detergenttablets such as '3 in 1', '4 in 1', '5 in 1'etc. set the Multi tab function (see'Multi tab function').

The water softenerThe dishwasher is equipped with a watersoftener designed to remove minerals andsalts from the water supply, which wouldhave a detrimental or adverse effect on theoperation of the appliance.The higher the content of these minerals andsalts, the harder your water is. Waterhardness is measured in equivalent scales,Clarke degrees, French degrees (°TH) andmmol/l (millimol per litre - international unitfor the hardness of water).The softener should be adjusted accordingto the hardness of the water in your area.Your local Water Authority can advise youon the hardness of the water in your area.

Setting the watersoftenerThe water softener must be set in two ways:manually, using the water hardness dial andelectronically.

Setting manually

The dishwasher is factory set atposition 2.

1. Open the dishwasher door.2. Remove the lower basket from the

dishwasher.3. Turn the water hardness dial to position

1 or 2 (see table above).4. Replace the lower basket.

Setting electronically

The dishwasher is factory set at level5.

1. Press the On/Off button. Thedishwasher must be in setting mode.

2. Simultaneously press and hold functionbuttons B and C, until the lights Glass,Rinse hold and Multi tab startflashing.

3. Press function button A, the lights offunction buttons Rinse hold and Multitab turn off while the light of function

button Glass continues to flash. Thecurrent level shows on the digital display.Examples:

displayed = level 5 displayed = level 10

4. To change the level, press functionbutton A. Each time the button ispressed the level changes. (For theselection of the new level see the chart).Examples:If the current level is 5, by pressingfunction button A once, level 6 isselected,if the current level is 10, by pressingfunction button A once, level 1 isselected.

5. To memorise the operation, switch offthe dishwasher by pressing the On/Offbutton.

Filling with dishwashersalt

Warning! Only use salt specificallydesigned for use in dishwashers. Allother types of salt not specificallydesigned for use in a dishwasher,especially table salt, will damage thewater softener. Only fill with salt justbefore starting one of the completewashing programmes. This willprevent any grains of salt or saltywater, which may have been spilt,remaining on the bottom of themachine for any period of time,which may cause corrosion.

To fill:1. Open the door, remove the lower

basket and unscrew the cap of the saltcontainer by turning it anticlockwise.

2. Pour 1 litre of water into the container(this is necessary only before fillingwith salt for the first time).

3. Using the funnel provided, pour in thesalt until the container is full.

4. Replace the cap making sure that there isno trace of salt on the screw thread oron the gasket.

5. Replace the cap tightly turning itclockwise until it stops with a click.

Do not worry if water overflowsfrom the unit when filling with salt,this is quite normal.

The salt indicator light on the controlpanel can remain on for a few hoursafter the salt has been replenished,assuming the dishwasher remainsswitched on. If you are using salt thattakes longer to dissolve then this cantake longer. The operation of themachine is not affected.

Caution! Only use branded rinse aidfor dishwashers. Never fill the rinseaid dispenser with any othersubstances (e.g. dishwasher cleaningagent, liquid detergent). This woulddamage the appliance.

Rinse aid ensures thorough rinsingand spot and streak free drying.Rinse aid is automatically addedduring the last rinse.

1. Press the release button (4) to open thelid (3) of the rinse aid dispenser.

2. Fill the rinse aid dispenser (1) with rinseaid. The maximum level for filling isindicated by 'max'.

3. Clean up any rinse aid spilt during fillingwith an absorbent cloth to avoid excessfoaming during the next washingprogramme.

4. Close the rinse aid dispenser. Press thelid until it locks into position.

Adjusting the rinse aiddosageThe factory set in position 3.

You can set the rinse aid dosage betweenposition 1 (lowest dosage) and position 4(highest dosage).Turn the rinse aid selector (2) to increase orreduce the dosage.

Daily use• Check if it's necessary to refill with

dishwasher salt or rinse aid.• Open the door and slide out the baskets

to load the dishes.• Load cutlery and dishes into the

dishwasher.• Fill with dishwasher detergent.• Select a wash programme suitable for the

cutlery and dishes.• Start the wash programme.

Loading cutlery anddishesSponges, household cloths and any objectthat can absorb water may not be washed inthe dishwasher.• Before loading the dishes, you should:

– Remove all left over food and debris.– Soften remnants of burnt food in pans

• When loading the dishes and cutlery,please note:

– Dishes and cutlery must not impedethe rotation of the spray arms.

– Load hollow items such as cups,glasses, pans, etc. with the openingdownwards so that water cannotcollect in the container or a deep base.

– Dishes and items of cutlery must not lieinside one another or cover eachother.

– To avoid damage to glasses, they mustnot touch.

– Lay small objects in the cutlery basket.• Plastic items and pans with non stick

coatings have a tendency to retain waterdrops; these items will not dry as well asporcelain and steel items.

• Light items (plastic bowls etc.) must beloaded in the upper basket and arrangedso they do not move.

For washing in the dishwasher the following cutlery and dishes

are not suitable: are of limited suitability:

• Cutlery with wooden, horn, china or mother-of-pearls handles.

• Plastic items that are not heat resistant.

• Older cutlery with glued parts that are nottemperature resistant.

• Bonded cutlery items or dishes.

• Pewter or copper items.

• Lead crystal glass.

• Steel items prone to rusting.

• Wooden platters.

• Items made from synthetics fibres.

• Only wash stoneware in the dishwasher if it isspecially marked as being dishwasher-safe bythe manufacturer.

• Glazed patterns may fade if machine washedfrequently.

• Silver and aluminium parts have a tendency todiscolour during washing: Residues, e.g. eggwhite, egg yolk and mustard often causediscolouring and staining on silver. Thereforealways clean left-overs from silverimmediately, if it is not to be washed straightafter use.

The lower basketThe lower basket is designed to takesaucepans, lids, plates, salad bowls, cutlery,etc.Serving dishes and large lids should bearranged around the edge of the basket,ensuring that the spray arms can turn freely.

The rows of prongs in the lower basket canlie flat to allow you to load pots, pans andbowls.

The cutlery basket

Warning! Long bladed knivesstored in an upright position are apotential hazard. Long and/or sharpitems of cutlery such as carving knivesmust be positioned horizontally in theupper basket. Take care whenloading or unloading sharp items suchas knives. Forks and spoons shouldbe placed in the removable cutlerybasket with the handles facingdownwards and the knives with theirhandles facing upwards

Mix spoons with other cutlery to preventthem from sticking together.To unload your dishwasher more easily, youcan take the cutlery basket out of the lowerbasket and unfold it. This makes it easier toremove small pieces of cutlery.

To prevent the full cutlery basketfrom inadvertently unfolding whenbeing taken out, place your handright round the two-piece handle andhold it firmly.

1. Place the cutlery basket on a firmsupport (table, worktop) and unfoldboth handle parts.

2. After unfolding, fold back both handleparts.

The upper basketThe upper basket is designed for plates(dessert plates, saucers, dinner plates of upto 24 cm in diameter), salad bowls, cups andglasses.Arrange items on and underneath the cupracks so that water can reach all surfaces.

Glasses with long stems can be placedupside down in the cup racks.For taller items, the cup racks can be foldedupwards.

Before closing the door, ensure thatthe spray arms can rotate freely.

Adjusting the height ofthe upper basketIf washing very large plates you can loadthem in the lower basket after moving theupper basket to the higher position.

To move to the higher positionproceed as follows:1. Pull out the basket until it stops.2. Carefully lift both sides upwards until the

mechanism is engaged and the basket isstable.

To lower the basket to the originalposition proceed as follows:1. Pull out the basket until it stops.2. Carefully lift both sides upwards and

then allow the mechanism to drop backdown slowly, keeping hold of it.

Never lift or lower the basketon one side only.When the upper basket israised you will not be able touse the cup racks.

Warning! After loading yourmachine always close the door, as anopen door can be a hazard.

Use of detergent

Only use detergents specificallydesigned for use in dishwashers.Please observe the manufacturer’sdosing and storage recommendationsas stated on the detergent packaging.

Using no more than the correctamount of detergent contributes toreducing pollution.

1. Press the release button (2) to open thelid (3) of the detergent dispenser.

2. Put the detergent in the detergentdispenser (1).

3. If the washing programme has a prewashphase, put a small quantity of detergenton the inner side of the appliance door.

4. If you use detergent tablets, put thetablet in the detergent dispenser (1)

5. Close the lid. Make sure that it locks intoposition.

Detergent tabletsDetergent tablets from differentmanufacturers dissolve at differentrates. For this reason, somedetergent tablets do not attain theirfull cleaning power during shortwashing programmes. Therefore,please use long washing programmeswhen using detergent tablets, toensure the complete removal ofdetergent residuals.

Multi tab functionThis appliance is equipped with the Multi tabfunction, that allows the use of combidetergent tablets.These products are detergents with acombined cleaning, rinsing and salt functions.They can also contain other different agentsdepending on which kind of tablets youchoose ('3 in 1', '4 in 1', '5 in 1' etc.).Check whether these detergents are suitablefor your water hardness. See themanufacturers instructions.Once this function is selected it will remainactive for all following wash programmes.With the selection of this function the inflowof rinse aid and salt from each respectivesupply container is automatically deactivatedand also the indicator lights for salt and rinseaid are deactivated.When using the Multi tab function, the cycleduration may change. If this is the case, therunning time for the programme isautomatically updated on the digital display.

Activate/deactivate the Multi tabfunction before the start of a washingprogramme.Once the programme is running, theMulti tab function can NO longer bechanged. If you want to cancel theMulti tab function you have to cancelthe programme setting and thendeactivate the Multi tab function.In this case you have to set a washingprogramme (and desired options)again.

Activation/deactivationof the Multi tab functionPress the Multi tab button, the Multi tabindicator light illuminates. This means thatthe function is active.To deactivate the function press the Multitab button, the Multi tab indicator light turnsoff.

If the drying results are notsatisfactory we suggest thatyou:1. Fill up the rinse aid dispenser with

rinse aid.2. Activate the rinse aid dispenser.3. Set the rinse aid dosage to

position 2.• The activation/deactivation of the

rinse aid dispenser is only possiblewith the Multi tab function active.

Activation/deactivationof the rinse aid dispenser1. Press the On/Off button. The

dishwasher must be in setting mode.2. Simultaneously press and hold function

buttons B and C, until the lights Glass,Rinse hold and Multi tab startflashing.

3. Press function button B, the lights Glassand Multi tab turn off while the lightRinse hold continues to flash. Thedigital display indicates the currentsetting.

4. To change the setting, press functionbutton B again, the digital displayindicates the new setting

5. To memorise the operation, switch offthe dishwasher by pressing the On/offbutton.

If you decide to revert back tothe use of individual detergentswe advise that you:1. Deactivate the Multi tab function.2. Fill up the salt container and the

rinse aid dispenser again.3. Adjust the water hardness setting

to the highest setting and perform1 normal washing programmewithout loading any dishes.

4. Adjust the water hardness settingaccording to the hardness of thewater in your area.

5. Adjust the rinse aid dosage.

Select and start a washingprogramme

Select the washing programmeand delay start with the doorslightly opened. The start of theprogramme or the countdownof the delay start will occur onlyafter the closure of the door.Until then it is possible tomodify the settings.

1. Check that the baskets have beenloaded correctly and that the spray armsare free to rotate.

2. Check that the water tap is opened.3. Press the On/Off button. The

dishwasher must be in setting mode.4. Press one of the two programme

buttons to select a washing programme.When a programme is selected thecorresponding programme lightilluminates and the programme timeflashes on the digital display.For the selection of the washingprogramme see "Washing programmes"chart.Close the dishwasher door, theprogramme starts automatically. In thedigital display the programme time is nolonger flashing but fixed with static light.

The selection of the washingprogramme can also be done withthe door closed. In this way, once awashing programme has beenselected, you have ONLY 3 secondsto change the selection or set a delaystart. After this time the appliancewill start automatically.

Setting and starting theprogramme with delaystart1. After having selected the washing

programme, press one of the delay startbuttons until the flashing number ofhours for the delay start appear in thedigital display. The start of the selectedwashing programme can be delayed forbetween 1 and 19 hours.

2. Close the dishwasher door, thecountdown starts automatically and thenumber in the digital display is no longerflashing but fixed with static light.

3. The countdown will decrease in steps of1 hour.

4. Opening the door will interrupt thecountdown. Close the door; thecountdown will continue from the pointat which it was interrupted.

5. Once the delay start has elapsed theprogramme will start automatically.

Warning! Interrupt or cancel awashing programme inprogress ONLY if it’s absolutelynecessary. Attention! Hotsteam may escape when thedoor is opened. Open the doorcarefully.

Cancel buttons (B and C) until all theprogramme lights illuminate.

• Cancelling a delay start will also cancel awashing programme. You have to set thewashing programme again.

• If a new washing programme is to beselected, check that there is detergent inthe detergent dispenser.

Interrupt a washingprogramme in progress• Open the appliance door, the programme

stops. Close the door, the programmewill start from the point at which it wasinterrupted.

• Switch off the appliance. Switch on theappliance, the programme will start fromthe point at which it was interrupted.

End of the washingprogramme• The dishwasher will automatically stop.• Zero appears in the digital display.• The light for the programme just ended

remains illuminated.1. Switch off the dishwasher.2. Open the dishwasher door, leave it ajar

and wait a few minutes before removingthe dishes; this way they will be coolerand the drying will be improved.

When the washing programmehas finished, it is recommendedthat the dishwasher isunplugged and the water tapturned off.

Unloading the dishwasher• Hot dishes are sensitive to knocks. The

dishes should therefore be allowed tocool down before removing from theappliance.

• Empty the lower basket first and then theupper one; this will avoid water drippingfrom the upper basket onto the dishes inthe lower one.

• Water may appear on the sides and thedoor of the dishwasher as the stainlesssteel will eventually become cooler thanthe dishes.

Maintenance and cleaning

Cleaning the filtersThe filters must be checked and cleanedfrom time to time. Dirty filters will degradethe washing result.

Warning! Before cleaning the filtersensure that the appliance is switchedoff.

1. Open the appliance door and removethe lower basket.

2. Turn the filter (A) anticlockwise andremove it out from filter (B).

3. Filter (A) has two parts. To disassemblethe filter, pull them apart.

4. Thoroughly clean all parts under runningwater.

5. Put the two parts of the filter (A)together and push. Make sure that theyengage correctly in each other.

6. Remove the filter (B).7. Thoroughly clean filter (B) under running

water.8. Put back filter (B) in the original position.

Make sure that it engages correctlyunder the two guides (C).

9. Put the filter (A) into position in filter(B). Turn the filter (A) clockwise until itlocks.

NEVER use the dishwasherwithout filters.Incorrect repositioning and fitting ofthe filters will produce poor washingresults and will result in damage tothe appliance.

NEVER try to remove the sprayarms.If residues of soil have clogged theholes in the spray arms, remove thedebris with a cocktail stick.

External cleaningClean the external surfaces of the machineand control panel with a damp soft cloth. Ifnecessary use only neutral detergents.Never use abrasive products, scouring padsor solvent (acetone, trichloroethylene etc.),since these can damage the surfaces andplastic parts of the appliance.

Internal cleaningEnsure that the seals around the door, thedetergent and rinse aid dispensers arecleaned regularly with a damp cloth.We recommend every 3 months you runthe wash programme for heavy soiled dishesusing detergent but without dishes.

Prolonged periods ofnon-operationIf you are not using the machine for aprolonged period of time you are advised to:1. Unplug the appliance and then turn off

the water.2. Leave the door ajar to prevent the

formation of any unpleasant smells.3. Leave the inside of the machine clean.

Frost precautionsAvoid placing the machine in a locationwhere the temperature is below 0°C. If thisis unavoidable, empty the machine, close theappliance door, disconnect the water inletpipe and empty it.

Moving the machineIf you have to move the machine (movinghouse, etc...):1. Unplug it.2. Turn the water tap off.3. Remove the water inlet and discharge

hoses.4. Pull the machine out together with the

hoses.Avoid over tilting the machine duringtransportation.

Something not workingThe dishwasher will not start or it will stopduring operation.Certain problems are due to the lack ofsimple maintenance or oversights, which canbe solved with the help of the indicationsdescribed in the chart, without calling out anengineer.Switch off the appliance and carry out thefollowing suggested corrective actions.

Proceed as follows:Remove the machine’s worktop byunscrewing the two rear retaining screws(1), pull the worktop from the back of themachine (2) and slide out the front slots,lifting the worktop (3).

Insert the machine after adjusting thelevelling with the adjustable feet. Wheninserting the machine, ensure that the waterinlet and drain hoses are not kinked orsquashed.During all operations that involveaccessibility to internal components thedishwasher has to be unplugged.Be sure that once the appliance has beeninstalled, it is easily accessible for the serviceengineer in the event that a repair isrequired.If the dishwasher is later used as a free-standing appliance, the original worktopmust be re-mounted.The plinth on free-standing appliances is notadjustable.

Water inlet connectionThis appliance must be connected to a coldwater supply.For making the connection itself, thecoupling nut fitted to the machine’s inlethose is designed to screw onto a 3/4" gasthread spout or to a purpose made quick-coupling tap such as the Press-block.The water pressure must be within the limitsgiven in the "Technical data". Your localWater Authority will advise you on theaverage mains pressure in your area.The water inlet hose must not be kinked,crushed, or entangled when it is beingconnected.The appliance features inlet and drain hoseswhich can be turned either to the left or theright to suit the installation by means of thelocknut. The locknut must be correctlyfitted to avoid water leaks.

NOT all models of dishwashers haveinlet and drain hoses provided with alocknut.

If the appliance is connected to new pipes orpipes which have not been used for a longtime, you should run the water for a fewminutes before connecting the inlet hose.DO NOT use connection hoses whichhave previously been used on an oldappliance.

This appliance has been fitted withsafety features which will prevent thewater used in the appliance fromreturning back into the drinking watersystem. This appliance complies withthe applicable plumbing regulations.

The drain hose can face either to the rightor left of the dishwasher.Ensure the drain hose is not bent orsquashed as this could prevent or slowdown the discharge of water.The sink plug must not be in place when themachine is draining as this could cause thewater to syphon back into the machine.If you use a drain hose extension its internaldiameter must be no smaller than thediameter of the hose provided.Likewise the internal diameter of thecouplings used for connections to the wasteoutlet must be no smaller than the diameterof the hose provided.

Our appliances are supplied with asecurity device to protect against thereturn of dirty water back into themachine. If the spigot of your sink hasa "no return valve" incorporated thiscan prevent the correct draining ofyour dishwasher. We thereforeadvise you to remove it.

When connecting the drain hose toan under sink trap spigot, the entireplastic membrane (A) must beremoved. Failure to remove all themembrane will result in food particlesbuilding up over time eventuallyblocking the dishwasher drain hosespigot.
