1. General
1.1 Introduction
JM car has adopted a HIVEC automatic transaxle that is being widely applied on Hyundai
passenger and RV vehicles.
The main features include:
4 speed HIVEC (F4A42) model that was applied on XD and GK.
Sports mode lever is aupported for the SUV vehicle concept.
A/T relay related DTC was changed.
It has been delayed to adopt the fully variable force solenoid valve in JM. (Will be applied on the
next model of JM)
In case of Beta 2.0, the integrated SIEMENS PCM is applied.

2) L&R brake is released in 1st gear when the vehicle speed is more than 5KPH approximately.

Oil Temperature Sensor
The oil temperature sensor is of the thermistor type, and senses the automatic transaxle fluid
temperature. Using the signal from this sensor, TCM controls the shift pattern optimally during shift.
In order to operate the damper clutch, this signal is also referred.

A/T Control Relay
The control relay supplies power to the solenoid valves.
As soon as the A/T control relay is ON, the battery voltage is directly supplied to solenoid valves and
each solenoid valve is operated when the TCM grounds the opposite terminal. (-) Control At fail
safe condition, the power is cut causing 3rd gear hold.
The A/T relay DTC (“A/T relay open or short) is changed from P1723 into P0885 to satisfy the
renewed regulation of OBD.
