John Murray Productions, Inc. was established in 1989 to meet the growing demand for experienced corporate event production.
JMP provides a design / build service to corporations, meeting and event planners, design firms, audio/visual companies and
agencies who seek to improve sales, marketing and brand awareness through special events and custom environments.
Our process begins with the development of innovative approaches to the guests experience. We partner with
our clients to conceptualize the event and strategize on methods of creating the appropriate environment
for the intended message.
The collaboration continues through to the fabrication and installation of the project.
Our project managers provide guidance and technical support through all phases of the
production.

Design and fabrication of a Buckminster Fuller inspired set design for the annual web designers awards. This set
involved simultaneous front and rear screen video projection, numerous scene changes and an appearance of the “big
hat” from Beach Blanket Babylon.

Design
Conceptual design, fabrication, lighting and rigging design of a 10,000 sq. ft. exhibit showcasing 60 years of service and
paying special tribute to the more than 200 physicians of Kaiser Permanente.

linear feet of our 24’ tall theatrical drapery.

Design and fabrication of a satellite convention meeting space, including a reception and watch display environment.
JMP supplied all furnishings including backlit graphic panels, custom-built back lit coffee table, 4 custom white
laminated jewelry cases, 3500 sq/ft of white velour drapery and wall to wall black carpeting.

We provided fabrication service to execute Thinc Design’s ambitious plan to encourage dialogue among the attendees of the annual TED conference about the future of energy. The tactile exhibit incorporated over 6,000 lbs. of anthracite coal into a demonstrative image of our energy consumption.

John Murray Productions, Inc. operates from a 14,000 sq. ft. scenic design studio in the San Francisco Bay Area that has
been in continuous operation since 1928. The studio features a full sewing room, carpentry shop, graphics
studio, welding facilities, as well as two of the largest vertical paint frames in Northern California.
We employ traditional methods of stagecraft as well as state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to help
our clients realize their creative vision. We work in a wide variety of media including wood,
foam, acrylic, steel, and aluminum. As well as a plethora of innovative fabrics and new
materials that our designers seek out to accomplish the goals of our diverse
clientele.

Fabrication of a life size model of the worlds largest flower. This permanent exhibit incorporates an aromatic device that simulates the real flowers stench of rotting flesh. Museum guests are encouraged to touch and smell this exhibit.

Four highly interactive Dive Stations designed by Thinc and built by John Murray Productions and BBI Engineering encourage guests to place aquatic specimen on interactive hot spots which trigger lighting and video effects that play on multiple displays.
