ABOUT THE SELF PUBLISHING REVOLUTION

It has never been easier to quickly self publish your own book and distribute it to the whole world. That book can be an essay, a novel, a business book, a memoir, whatever you want to write.

YOUR CAN SELF PUBLISH AND GET YOUR BOOK OUT TO THE WORLD REALLY FAST–Today, you can self publish an ebook with Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing program using its free, fast and easy self-publishing tool that enables you to upload your book and have it available for purchase on Amazon within 48 hours. Amazon also offers a print-on-demand option for publishing and selling print copies of your book.

THE OLD WAY TO GET YOUR BOOK PUBLISHED–Traditionally, writers have had to get literary agents who then pitch their books to publishers who then usually reject those books. To even get a literary agent has always been very difficult. And even if an agent decides to represent you, your chances of getting published have always been very slim. In fact, very few writers ever get published, no matter how good they are. Even Chicken Soup for the Soul was first rejected by 140 publishers and Gone with The Wind was first rejected by 38 publishers.

Even if you could get a publisher, it is usually about two years before your book will be in the marketplace. And, by the way, the publishers expect you to market your own book. They do little to nothing unless you are an A-list author. They make their money from A-list authors and not unknown authors with no following, so that is where they put their focus.

Even many traditionally published authors are now choosing to self publish in order to make more profits and retain control of their work. Instead of getting 8-10% in royalties per book, they can earn five to seven times that amount through self-publishing.

STIGMA WITH SELF PUBLISHING IS GONE–There also used to be a stigma associated with self-publishing, but that stigma has disappeared. In fact, within a few years, the majority of all books will most likely be self-published. There are many different reasons to self-publish a book, and many people are now self-publishing their own books to enhance their professional status, or to market their professional services. In fact, self-publishing your own book can be a valuable marketing tool for promoting yourself or your business or advancing your career.

A BOOK COACH CAN HELP YOU WITH ALL THE DETAILS OF SELF PUBLISHING–Even though it has never been easier and quicker to self-publish, there are many details you need to know about the writing, design, pricing, and marketing of a self-published book. But the good news is that with ebooks and print on demand books, you can easily change the pricing, the cover, and even the content of your book.

If you want to make a great impression, and if you want anyone to read your book, you will need to make an investment in order to produce a quality product. And, although self-publishing does cost money, there are ways to optimize this investment by carefully choosing how and where you develop and publish your book.
