Primary School

Professors:Klaus Chaves | Mariana CurySite:Igrejinha . Juiz de Fora . Brazil

About:

The realization area of the project is located in a neighborhood of low-income population. For the design of an elementary school was thought a space that would encourage freedom, independence, creation and socialization. One focus of the project was the relationship between “School + Community,” for it in the school was designed a hybrid space of square and auditorium. The starting point for the design was the kite, because it is the synthesis of the primary ideas of the proposed space.

About: This project design is intended for a Health Center. The proposed land is located on a site of great historical and cultural value to the city, near Tapera’s Farm, old building of the XVIII century. For the project was thought a relationship of harmony with the old Farm. We consider materials and their characteristics as elements of approximation. To create a relationship of closeness and harmony with the community was thought a hybrid use of space at the entrance of the building. This space will function as access and as square, with circulation areas on ramps and stairs, and rest and contemplation areas.

About: For the renovation project of an apartment of young middle-class man was taken into account the dynamics of the flows and uses of spaces. Was proposed the mixed-use of spaces, but sectorial and changeable, and preservation of customer privacy by restricting flows. Customer’s personal characteristics were considered for

the perfect choice and design of furniture and objects.

Venetian Platforms

About:

This project was awarded with the second place in “Project’s Marathon” of the Federal University of São João del Rei. In this contest was asked for us the analysis and design for the historical center of Sao Joao del Rei, considering all the problems of heritage and traffic in the city center. On this event we would have 24 hours to design. My team’s project consisted in the analysis of the urban mobility in town’s center, in particular suggesting some changes of traffic flow, in the use of some streets turning it in pedestrian exclusive areas and placing new pedestrian bridges crossing the town’s river. And so creating new spaces of permanence and contemplation in the city center. In the end of the competition, the teachers gave the name “Venetian Platforms” to our project.

Linear Urban Park

Professor:Fabrício FontenelleSite:Bonfim | São João del Rei | BrazilCo-workers:André Almeida | João Pedro Otoni |Olívia Santiago | Priscila Porto | Sarah Guedes

About:

The area proposed for the realization of the project is on the banks of a stream in the peripheral region of the city. In our analysis we note the lack of a recreational, wellness, and a living area with nature in the region. We design a linear park that could integrate the entire region and meet this need. The park has a snack bar and bathroom area, plus hiking and biking trails and points of contemplation.

Interactive Object

Professors:Gedley Braga | Rafael BrandãoSite:UFSJ | São João del Rei | BrazilCo-workers:Amanda Acipreste | Claudia Gaede | Danielle Lopes | João Pedro Otoni

About:

The “Interactive Object” was an activity done in my first year of college. We should create an object that could interact with the person who is using it and the space where it was inserted. We create a black prismatic shape with openings. Through these openings you could see inside a set of lights, mirrors, glasses and papers. The object also had a pipe that circled and crossed at certain points the object. This pipe created a circuit in which it was possible to interact with glass balls. Through the object’s openings it emanated blue and purple lights which created images in the room that was inserted.

Urban Artistic Intervention

Professors:Gedley Braga | Rafael BrandãoSite:Downtown | São João del Rei | BrazilCo-workers:Amanda Acipreste | Claudia Gaede | Danielle Lopes | Heitor Castro | João Pedro Otoni

About:

This activity consisted in an Urban Artistic Intervention. We were asked to occupy a square and the street that led to this square in the historical center of Sao Joao del Rei. For my group was selected street that gave access. This street is narrow and with many windows, so we work with the idea of interior / exterior of a house. We build a bathroom, which is the most intimate part of a house, on the street corner, underside of a window that is the most public part of a house. This work was inspired by the work “Desvio para o Vermelho” (Deviation for the Red) of Cildo Meireles and we created our “Desvio para o Azul” (Deviation for the Blue).

About:

This was a design of a Ceiling Light that re-used old lamps and created an unique object. The project was designed to create a different ambience in an underused space. Besides the design of the object I worked with paint

and wiring.
