Children’s Mental Health Worker 1 year Contract Full time (35 hrs /wk)
Salary Range ($46,500 - $65,500)
Location (30 College Street, Toronto, ON)

quality of life for Native families, children, and youth within the greater Toronto area. The agency
takes a holistic view of problems, builds on individual and family strengths, and engages clients
as partners in identifying problems and their solutions.”
Position Summary
The primary function of the Children’s Mental Health Worker is to provide services and case
management to children and families who are in need of treatment and healing. The core responsibility
is to implement and provide services which combine traditional and contemporary models of healing.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
Assessment, intervention and planning for high risk children and their families who are
experiencing behavioral, psychological and emotional difficulties.
Case management, case consultation and liaison with NCFST staff as well as external
resources.
Plan and conduct various types of individual and group programs.
Maintain and update files in accordance with NCFST policy.
Represents NCFST at other community levels.
Performs other duties related to the programs mandate.
Qualifications
B.S.W. or M.S.W., or alternatively a combination of related social services college/university
education and at least three (3) years of relevant experience.
Substantial level of familiarity in Aboriginal culture(s), particularly with respect to the urban
Aboriginal population.
Demonstrated knowledge of child development, family systems, and mental health services. Pass a police records check (Vulnerable Sector)
Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills; ability to multitask and
prioritize; initiative and respect for confidentiality.
The candidate should be familiar with and able to contribute to a team approach with respect to
effective service delivery.
