SituationIn 2006, Ralf Jehnert founded a company in his name, which specialises in earthworks and transportation in Tiddische, Lower Saxony. The work carried out is predominantly for the private sector. It ranges from earthmoving and excavation works through to transport, sand and gravel extraction and the processing of building materials. Day-to-day operations primarily include pit excavation and the creation of sewer connections and sand subbases. To meet the needs of its clients, the company has approximately 15 employees.

TaskIn order to carry out customer projects professionally, a wide range of building materials, such as sand, gravel, rubble or recyclable materials, is required. These building materials are partially sourced from company-owned sandpits and are produced at a building material recycling centre, using the appropriate machines and equipment. Wheel loaders are used to extract, recycle and remove building materials, but can also be used to prepare building materials. Ralf Jehnert needs wheel loaders that are versatile as they move between various sites and locations during operation.

working collaboration with Kurt König Baumaschinen GmbH, and positive previous experience with the Liebherr L 514 Stereo wheel loader, the company selected a new Liebherr L 526 wheel loader compliant with Stage IV / Tier 4f emission standards. The scope of the new L 526’s duties is diverse: the wheel loader removes sand from the sandpit and then sieves, stores and loads the material onto appropriate trucks as required. Designed specifically for the demanding task of sand removal, this wheel loader’s hydrostatic driveline and two self-locking differentials in the front and rear axle, which establish a very high torque and good traction even at low engine speeds, make it impressive. As a result, the machine can be operated efficiently and it is possible to achieve a fuel reduction of up to 25 per cent compared to other manufacturers’ wheel loaders in the same size category. As visibility is extremely important on public roads, the compact dimensions of the machine are an advantage when moving between sites during operation. Another part of the wheel loader’s role is to load the externally sourced building materials stored on the company´s building yard. The L 526 transports pallets with building materials, which is why it is equipped with a loading fork in addition to the 2.1 m³ excavation bucket. And the hydraulic quick hitch enables fast changing between the different tool attachments.

As a direct result of Ralf Jehnert’s high level of customer satisfaction with its new L 526, the company has already made an additional investment in a Liebherr wheel loader L 507 Stereo.
