  1. 1. Getting The Upper Advantage No Matter The Odds By: Anthony Hines
  2. 2. Who Am I.I am a hardworking guy who, like many others, found himself out of work during the economic downturn in 2010. After a long battle of wrong turns, job search strategies that led to no where, and dead end leads, I decided to take a more strategic approach to my job search. Like anything else in life, I needed to treat my search like a full- time job and create a plan that would allow me to stand out above the competition. Why Am I Sharing What Helped Mebecause I quickly realized that to handle an event like that is to focus on what you can control and share the experience to help others. I believe that an experience not shared is a lost opportunity in life, and that smart people learn from their mistakes and smarter people learn from other peoples experiences.
  3. 3. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING MORE. Get Your Resume Checked Email your resume to [email protected] and tell them I sent you. That way you will get a free comprehensive and detailed report of how your resume looks and flows. Go for it because without a great resume, you have no chance of getting any job much less a great job. The turnaround is quick and the service is stellar. Read My Job Search Tip Document First . These are the Free documents that tell you everything that I did to get activity & visibility in my search. Email me at [email protected] and I will send you them.
  4. 4. The next group of slides will discuss some of the things I went though in my own search and why I continue to create job search presentations that look at all the aspects of the job search process. I will tell you the tip or idea and let you know why I like it to help you in dealing with the process. Remember, I am by no means a professional and never claim to be. I am just giving you things as I see them to help you to see through the fog and get ahead in your career. I hope my ideas help you out and help me to end unemployment one person at a time.
  5. 5. Why do I keep creating more presentations? Very simple. I get an idea about the job search process that is not being discussed enough and think that maybe my ideas will help someone. Some are better than others I am sure but I bet many people have gotten help from these.
  6. 6. What do I try to do different in my chapters? In the job search process, many people have no problem taking your money and giving you nothing while promising the world. I make all of my presentations free because it should be.
  7. 7. What drives me? I will never forget that feeling that I felt when I was told I was losing my job and that is what drives me to continue to help people. People stop calling and people just go on with their lives after the lay off ends. I dont because I want to share all the information I have to help others get out of transition.
  8. 8. What really bothered me during the process? I, like many people who have been laid off, was very successful at any position I was ever at and went I lost my job, I felt that so much of what I had built had been lost forever. I realized that not only can I build it again but, in fact, much of what I thought was gone, live on at my former companies.
  9. 9. What else am I try trying to do here? I am trying to help people who really feel at a loss about this process and are pretty down thinking that they cannot get out of this cycle. That is not true but someone needs to keep telling you that. So many people tell me that they download my stuff and read it over and over again and refocus. That is what I am trying to do here.
  10. 10. Whats in it for me? Well, every time that someone is helped out by my docs and presentations, it helps to take a negative event in my life and turn it positive. Yes, it kind of a karma thing but really that is whats in my head.
  11. 11. What about the links to other products? Look, my stuff is all free and yes I give you links to free and paid stuff because I feel this stuff is useful, a good value and could help you out. You dont have to buy anything but in my opinion you need to invest in yourself within this process to help you get a job. Not everything in life is free but my info is.
  12. 12. Why are my experiences better than someone elses? They are not. They are just my experiences. I tell you lots of info because remember that you are only looking for one job and you only need a few of my tips to work for you. That said, it doesnt hurt to have all of my experiences to help you get through this.
  13. 13. What is an underrated part of the process? I believe that the aloneness and the overall loneliness of this process can be really devastating to a persons self-esteem. Thats why I write the presentations the way I do. This way it is like I am sitting right next to you and talking with you.
  14. 14. What is my outlook? I, like many people, have been through many challenges in my life and those challenges have made me who I am. Where I am different is that I try to share those experiences with others so that they do not have to go through that challenge. I believe that makes the experience more valued.
  15. 15. What was my day to day outlook during my job search? I believed that every day was going to be the day that I got the call for an interview or for a meeting or something so I was always on. It was on me to be ready for that call.
  16. 16. Want to learn more about how I think and who I am with all of the passion behind it? Check out my Youtube video which is located at youtu.be/qjafZOO_GcI?a Read my other presentations which are discussed in my Jobsearch A to Z presentation which is located at http://bit.ly/1F1mkdc
  17. 17. Did I ever think that my documents and presentations would become so popular? I didnt waste time worrying about how big the stuff would become because I was focused on trying to help the individual and trying to close that gap through all of the different chapters. It gets big if it gets big. That is not in my control. Only my efforts are in my control and I embrace that. Thousands and thousands of people seem to agree.
  18. 18. Do I have any idea how many people that this stuff has actually helped? I have no idea other than what I get via feedback. I wonder sometimes how many have really found that my stuff has made a difference because I have spent many hours on these presentations and documents so I hope that all of that time spent has led to something of value. I think that it has but that doesnt stop me with coming up with new chapters as I think of them. Please use my tips for yourself and if you can, spread the word to anyone you know who could use this info as I really do want to end unemployment one person at a time.
  19. 19. Got great professional skills and experience that you can share with a company that needs help? You may want to consider Maven. This company has a list of many requests for information or experience that maybe you could answer and pick up some cash on the side while doing it. Plus, you can tell your friends about it and make some cash if they signup . Check out this link for more information. http://app.maven.co/join/9aQ5VKpU#sthash. tOnwRzvx.dpuf
  20. 20. I want to reiterate that I am not a professional and only providing you with things I did that helped me out during my own job search. I do these presentations because the job search process has a lot to do with attitude and outlook. Thats on you. Excuses are for losers. Be a winner and take charge. You can do it because you have done it before I bet. Make sure you individualize any all of the information provided on this or any of my presentations. My ideas are to guide you and help you to understand concepts.
