"Cows for Christmas" Many thanks to all for supporting EOM"s giving
opportunity, "Cows for Christmas". As of Sunday
the 27th, we had $905, almost enough for 2 cows.
I called Heifer International and they said that all
gifts would be tripled. WOW!
It has been fun to find
out the many ways a
cow can help a family
especially in the 3rd
world countries. Go on
line to Heifer and
watch some of their
videos. They are beautifully done. Also, thanks to
Gretchen who shared her heifers and others with us
here in Florence. Thanks again for making this a
success and helping and loving our neighbors across the
sea.

New Year's Eve Service
The New Harmony NBPC Chapter will have a New Year's Eve (Watch Night) worship service on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
"Watch Night, also called Freedom's Eve, is a Christian religious service held on New Year's Eve and associated, in many African American churches, with a celebration and
remembrance of the Emancipation Proclamation (enacted January 1, 1863), which freed slaves in the Confederate States during the American Civil War. Many mainline Protestant
churches in the United States sponsor a Watch Night service on New Year's Eve." For more information on this service see the Encyclopedia Britannica article.
