• Continued responsibility for quality testing of raw iron at a top tier comah site to ensure elimination of sub-standard final product. Removal of Sulphur from the hot metal & retaining it in the Slag

• Deep injection of Desulphurising agents into hot metal. Effective management of torpedoes and high level of mixing in the Ladles ( mixing or chemical agitation)

• Ensure fully killed & minimise Vessel slag carryover• Part of the process to fully remove Aluminium, Calcium, Lead, Magnesium, Silicon, Titanium,

Vanadium, Niobium, Boron, Zinc• Working with skimmer, injection lance, tilters and pourers to ensure continuation of process

operations. This includes working with magnesium, calcium carbide, lime and soda ash and appreciating the properties and relevance of each.

• Flusher operations - To homogenise and control temperature and analysis before dispatching to the next process

• Daily use of Distributed Control Systems ( DCS) with over 600 computer operations

Clear communication to all departments involved in the various stages of process to ensure clarity and to avoid miscommunication. Production planning, manpower planning, supervision over production areas, control and optimising stock levels, liaising with engineering department to prioritise machine and tool maintenance, optimise efficiency and performance, improve and maintain housekeeping standards. Supporting Information:I was employed initially at SSI as a process operator playing an integral part in the production of steel. Shortly after this appointment I was promoted to Team Leader supervising a team of men operating at the de-sulphurisation point of the process, which is highly demanding and requires focus and skill. I feel I have the necessary operational, functional and technical skills which would fit perfectly to a position with your company. I respect and appreciate established routines but find it motivating to look for more effective ways of performing.
