A senior project with a team of five developed a scale-up process of an antivenom peptide, implemented from research proposed by Dr. Komives with the assistance of a client from Genentech.

● Reduced the current market price of antivenom products by 80%. ● Led the team to develop a bioprocess flow that effectively produces the desired product from

synthesis to purification.

Bioprocessing Research Scholar, Tower Hall Research Foundation, SJSU San Jose, California October 2015 – May 2016

Research assistant to Dr. Komives to study the methods of producing cost-effective antivenom medicine for snake bites, which commonly occur in India and Africa.

● Designed and produced low-cost antivenom peptides by studying the optimization of conditions for enzyme cleavage of tandem repeat chains of opossum peptides.

● Identified the Endoproteinase Glu-C concentration, buffer concentration, and reaction time that resulted in the maximum amount of cleaved pure peptides through an IMAC column.

Chemistry Research Associate, MIBA Medical, Inc. San Jose, California August 2015 - October 2015

A privately held start-up company that designs and researches plastic fillers for advancements of cosmetic products.

● Studied the activity of hyaluronic acid with various crosslinking agents to develop plastic fillers by testing its viscosity, elongation, and degrading rate.
