Johnson Matthey Key Results –
• NOx (Nitric Oxide + Nitrogen Dioxide) was reduced by an average of 4.91%
• NO (Nitric Oxide) was reduced by an average of 6.12%
• HC (Hydrocarbon = unburned fuel) was reduced by an average of 6.91%
• HC during Duty Cycle #5 was reduced by an average of 10.03%
• CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) was reduced by an average of 1.10%
Note: in a controlled environment, a 1.0 reduction on a stationary engine is significant.
Johnson Matthey Test Procedure -
Engine – Caterpillar C-7 : 200 horsepower Warm-Up – Engine is run through a warm-up cycle for 15 minutes.
Test – The Dynamometer cycles the engine through 13 modes. The dynamometer changes the RPM and load for each mode; each mode is 2 minutes in duration. The computer captured the emission results for each test and we calculated the averages. EverGard Break-In – The next day, the engine oil was changed with EverGard and the dynamometer ran the engine for an 8-hour period. On the third day, the oil was changed again prior to the test. EverGard Test – EverGard was put through 5 ECS Duty Cycle Tests. The computer captured the emission results for each test and we calculated the averages.
