Balkan Women Coalition

The project “Balkan Women Coalition for Professional

Qualification and Training in the field of Business and

Economic Science” (B-WCo) is developed between 8

countries from the Balkan Region and it is based on the

longstanding cooperation and work between the

participating organizations on their common aim for

supporting the Women Business Qualification and

competitiveness in the labor market. This project has

been funded with support from the European

Commission.

AFAEMME

The Association of Organizations of Mediterranean

Businesswomen (AFAEMME) is a federation of

businesswomen associations which was launched in 2002

in Barcelona (Spain). AFAEMME currently comprises 44

member organizations from 24 Mediterranean countries.

AFAEMME is a coordinator of European and

Mediterranean business and gender equality projects and

ground-breaking research, a networking platform for

businesswomen and women entrepreneurs from all over

the Mediterranean and a Euro-Mediterranean lobby for

strengthening gender equality and facilitating the access

of women to decision-making positions in the economy.

EUROMED INVEST

The initiative is part of the project EUROMED Invest is one

of the main European programs aiming at developing

private investments and economic relations in the Euro-

Mediterranean area.

The project is coordinated by ANIMA Investment Network

within a consortium composed of 6 members:

Eurochambres (Association of European Chambers of

Commerce), ASCAME (Association of Mediterranean

Chambers of Commerce), BusinessMed (Union of

Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises), EMDC

(Euro-med Development Center for Micro, Small and

Medium Enterprises), GACIC (German-Arab Chamber of

Commerce) and EABC (Euro-Arab Business Council).

OECON GROUP

executives with great expertise and experience in the field

of Business Consulting of companies and organizations, at

a national, European and international level. Our main

target is to provide Business consulting services of high

requirements dealing with particular attention to the

needs and particularities of every business move of our

clients. We make a difference by serving our clients with

working teams that work towards getting the best results

according to our clients’ benefit. Our working model

delivers responsive service and insights with a high

degree of confidence. For more than 10 years, we

measure our own success by only one criterion: our

clients’ success.

TRAINING SESSION OF BALKAN WOMEN COALITION The ultimate goal of the project B-WCo is to empower women business leaders to make their voice

heard and assert their positions in a democratic manner. The current training event includes

information, tools and guidelines on the advocacy process in Brussels with the goal of creating a

transparent and competitive business environment in which women are treated as equal partners who

work to solve policy barriers and create stability in the business and social environments. In the 21st

century it is crucial to empower women business to make their voice heard and assert their positions in

a democratic manner, to integrate them into business life and the decision-making process, in order to

increase their visibility in the region. The goals of the training “How to advocate in Brussels” are:

• To increase the capacity of businesswomen to play a more active role in national and

international public policy debates

• To introduce to the participants information and knowledge on the advocacy process at

European level;

• To enhance the women entrepreneurs’ standing in shaping policies with respect to the

government and in the business community through a continuous process of sharing

information and best practices

VI MEDA WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS FORUM: Strengthening Women

through the Promotion of Business in the Mediterranean The Mediterranean Women Entrepreneurs Forum wants to provide women entrepreneurs from the

Mediterranean area with the opportunity to make business contacts in key sectors for the economic

development of the Mediterranean as well as to explain success stories, share good practices and

know-how and to analyze the role of women in the development of the region’s economies.

Celebrating its 6th edition, the Forum offers a permanent platform for dialogue, discussions, sharing of

experiences and networking that will bring new business opportunities for women entrepreneurs. In

this new edition, we will discuss highly interesting subjects, such as the power of women in business

organizations, women growing their businesses, and women’s access to finance, with the major aim of

discussing and later suggesting ways of supporting women entrepreneurship in the entire region, as

well as generating an always stronger business network for businesswomen on both shores of the

Mediterranean. Participants will have the unique opportunity to listen to key economic speakers and to

further discuss and exchange issues with them and other participants. From these multilateral

exchanges we expect to raise precious contributions to the current debate on the issue of business and

gender. We therefore highly encourage Mediterranean women entrepreneurs and businesswomen to

participate and share their experiences in order to create new synergies and to enhance trade among

the Arab region and Europe and, in this way, indirectly contribute to the economic development of the

Mediterranean countries and to regional integration.
