WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2019MINNEAPOLIS CONVENTION CENTER

10:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Join YWCA Minneapolis in our mission to eliminate racism and empower womenAdvancing Racial Equity and Inclusion

Real progress toward racial equity starts with open, honest conversationsand is followed by intentional action planning. Our forums on racial equity held throughout the year empower community members to challenge the structures that uphold racial inequities.

Awareness Keynote speakers have dedicated their work to deeper understandings of racism. Their insight helps attendees move along their own racial justice journey.

Engagement Research shows dialogue is the foundation for sustained change. Led by our trained racial justice facilitators, community members make the connection between theory and the reality of racism in our lives.

Inspiration With knowledge and the support of others committed to racial justice, attendees are inspired to advance inclusion at work, in the community and with family and friends.

An Invitation to Invest

We invite you to invest in our mission to eliminate racism and empower women by becoming a sponsor of It’s Time to Talk: Forums on RaceTM and It’s Time to Act!TM Forum Series. Together, we build a community of changemakers. Event proceeds provide community workshops and trainings on topics of race, equity and social justice. We provide an open space for people to heal, learn, grow and drive positive change in their workplace and community.

It’s Time to Act!TM Forum Series

The goal of eliminating racism in Minnesota and beyond is within our reach. It begins with conversation, and it’s propelled by action.

Join us for the 2nd annual It’s Time to Act! Series. This forum series empowers participants to deepen their understanding of the systems of racism and our role within those systems.

The forums are designed to address specific areas of racial disparity in Minnesota, and are followed by structured time for action planning. Hear from experts who inspire intentional action on equity issues in your surrounding community. Fueled by these presentations, attendees create a step-by-step action plan with others or as an individual.

This year’s series will focus on electoral justice, economic disparities and Islamophobia as a rhetoric of hate.
