Approach followed for the EU GPP criteria revision

Reflect the EU Ecolabel evidence base

Comprehensive criteria aligned to a large extent with the EU Ecolabel criteria (under development)

Provides a more holistic approach –service provision. Covers a wider range of aspects (e.g. accessories, machinery)

Allows more flexibility to tenderers and reflects cleaning company practices – example cleaning products

Present case: requires companies to request compliance

declarations from cleaning product manufacturers (core), 100%

meeting EU Ecolabel Requirements (comprehensive)

Revised criteria: XYZ% meeting EU Ecolabel requirements, all

other products non-hazardous (verified by provision of SDS)

More comprehensive assessment and verification
