One day in Egypt there was a boy named Marv. Marv has always heard rumors

about U.S.A and how it was the paradise land with no troubles and is worry free.

Marv hoped one day he could get a chance to go live in America. He got a job as a

tour guide at the pyramids to support his family. Over in Egypt, you could get a job

at any age. It was a normal day as Marv was giving a tour to some people when a

man interrupted him. He was pale as a vampire and as tall as a giant.

“Hi, I’m Steve Marks from Steve Marks Production in America. How would you

like to come and be in a movie in America young boy?” asked Steve

Marv pointed at himself as if saying me? You’re talking to me? Marv agreed

and shook hands with Steve. Steve told Marv to meet him at gate 12 at 1: oo A.M

sharp. Marv went home and told his parents the news. The whole family started

shouting and jumping with joy. As Marv was packing his parents called all his rela-

tives telling them the news. Marv was shocked as to what had just happened to

him. Marv said goodbye to everyone and made his way to the airport.

As he arrived at gate 12 he saw Steve. He sat with him as they waited for the

plane. Marv was so anxious to see what America was like. Marv imagined it as a

sunny place with palm trees everywhere and all you have to do to make a living is

buy some stocks and watch the money roll in. Boy was he in for a shocker. They

called for everyone to board there plane at gate 12. He looked at the sign. It said

one way non-stop to New York City. He got in his plane and slept. He woke up to a

soft voice saying prepare for landing. He got up and put his seat belt on.

As he walked out of the plane he expected it to be magical. It turns out he

was wrong. All he saw was a normal airport only slightly bigger than his. He

shrugged his shoulders and thought to himself that it was just an airport and the

real magic was outside. So they got their luggage and went outside to call a cab.

This was it; it was Marv’s dream just two steps away. He opened the door. All he

saw was cars driving, pollution in the air and some litter flying across the road.

He looked confused. He heard cars honking but no sea shore; it was freezing cold

and dark. It was only 2 p.m. He saw skyscrapers but no palm trees. America was

nothing that he expected when all of a sudden a bag went over his head and was

carried by two men into a big white van. He woke up tied to chair wondering

where he was when Steve appears.

TO BE CONTINUED……….

Page 5: Jonathan M

Marv looked at Steve confused. As Steve was walking by, Marv struggled to get out of the

chair. He wobbled and wiggled. Steve came and gave Marv a shot. Marv felt sleepy and woozy and

then past out. He had a dream of his family kind of like a flashback. He dreamt about his 8th

birthday

when his dad finally came back from war. They were all happy and cheering. He remembers that mo-

ment just like it was yesterday. Marv woke up just to see it was just a dream. Marv started to cry

wondering if he was going to see his parents again, if he is going to live to see his bed again.

A few weeks past after Marv was kidnapped, it was time for his daily feeding when Marv had

enough. As he was eating he sprung out of his chair and attacked Steve. Marv was a little scrawny

boy and had no chance of taking down Steve. Steve got up and sedated Marv with another shot. Marv

woke up two days later to see Steve hovering over him.

“Why are you doing this to me? What gain are you going to get from me?” questioned Marv

“Your father came to my village in Israel and attacked us. He killed my son then just walked off

with no care in the world. I was forced to move here to America. I spent hours and hours thinking of

my revenge then I realized, an eye for an eye, a foot for a foot, and a son for a son.” replied Steve

Marv could see the rage in Steve’s eyes, but also Steve’s eyes started to water. Marv began to cry

feeling sorry for Steve.

“I’m sorry this happened to you sir but taking me isn’t going to bring back your son back now is it?

remarked Marv

Steve looked at Marv with a pity look then left the room. Marv was wondering why his father

would do such a thing. How could he just kill a harmless kid then just walk away. Marv just didn’t

know what to do at this point so he went to sleep. He woke up this time smelling something smoky.

He was free! He jumped up with joy. He looked at the train tracks, he saw people, and he felt the sun

on his face. He went to the nearest store and asked for a phone. He called his dad and told him what

had happened. His dad said he would book a flight and told him to catch a cab to the airport. As Marv

was walking to the gate to Egypt he saw Steve and Steve saw him. Steve smiled, winked, and

waved. Steve came over to Marv and told him thank you for letting him realize that he was making a

mistake and that he was truly sorry. Marv smiled said goodbye and went on the plane. He looked

back and waved at Steve.

He got home sixteen hours later and looked at his dad. He was trying to build up the courage to

ask him what had happened that day. He finally did. His dad told him that Steve was a mastermind

criminal and the army thought if we could take his son we could have him stop what he was doing.

Marv asked why his dad just walked away with no care in the world. His dad sighed and told him the

story. His dad said that they didn’t actually kill the boy they just took him faking his death. I raised

that kid like he was my own. Marv asked where he was now then his dad sighed again then pointed

at Marv. Marv couldn’t believe what he just heard. His dad explained how Marv was in a lot of danger

and that he saved his life. Marv looked at his dad smiled hugged him and said thank you.

One day in Oklahoma Justin Bockavich decided to apply to the col-

lege of his dreams but there was one problem, he didn’t know how to. So

he went and asked his Uncle Joe how he got in. Joe told him to write a

five page essay on why he would like to go and what he plans on doing

when he gets there. So later that day Justin started his essay and he typed

and typed until he couldn’t type anymore. Just as he was about to save

his paper boom, the power goes out.

A blackout hit as Justin looked at his computer with dismay. He ran

downstairs just to see candles lit in the living room. Just minutes later

the power came back on. He dashed up stairs and saw exactly what didn’t

want to see, his paper was gone. He called his uncle again and told him

what had happened. His uncle told him great words of advice. He said

that the essay he wrote was in his heart all along and that he could write

it again. Justin was furious and hung up the phone. He went and just

typed and typed again and saved it the first second he finished. He read it

over and realized that it was actually better than the first one. He called

his uncle and apologized and also thanked him. Later that month a letter

came in the mail. It was the college. He opened it up read these words. We

have read your essay and have decided that you shall attend this school. Justin jumped with joy. He was

happy he didn’t give up and slack off and wrote the essay again.

SHOULD STUDENTS BE

ALLOWED TO PICK THEIR

TEACHERS? There have been many kids lately complaining on how

they don’t like their teachers. They say that if they don’t

like the teacher the teacher doesn’t deserve their best

work. But, kids should not be able to pick their own

teacher.

One reason that kids should not pick their own teacher

is because everyone might pick the easy teacher and not

learn as much. Also they might not learn discipline which

they will need later in life. There won’t be enough teachers

if they all choose the nice/easy teacher.

All the strict teachers will have no one in their class.

If they have no students they will not have a job. Students

could hear about strict teachers from their friends and not

actually know the teacher themselves. That is not fair for

the strict teachers.

In conclusion students should not be able to pick

their own teachers. Students won’t learn as much and

many teachers will be out of a job. That’s why teachers

have such bad reputations because of rumors, nothing but

rumors.

MY LIFE WORKING AT BURGER KING

March 22nd

2009

Today in the lovely Burger King of Manhattan this guy came up to me and then

started talking all Gibberish. When I told him I couldn’t understand him he got all

mad and freaked out, then he just stormed out of the store. Later that day this

five year old girl walked in and started screaming. Her mom asked what was

wrong and the girl told her that the man in the hat [me] hit her on the arm. When

I defended myself the mother said that if I don’t give them their whole meal for

free she’ll sue Burger King. I just went with it and gave them the meal. As the

girl walked out, she said to her mom, we conned that man good mama, where to

next?

March 23rd

2009

The next day the same Gibberish man came in with a bat and tried to rob Bur-

ger King. But when we couldn’t understand his instructions he got even madder

than yesterday, walked in the kitchen, and took all of our cheese, then left. Just

imagine the chaos; every order of cheeseburgers will have NO CHEESE!

March 24th

2009

The other day one of my co-workers quit and we needed someone else to take

her place. I was in charge of the interviews for the people who wanted the spot.

I was pretty enthusiastic about the interviews, well until they started at least.

The first guy was this big, buff, old dude, with a long white beard and a leather

jacket that said THE WILD ONES. Next there was this blonde chick that just

wouldn’t stop talking about how she wanted the job to fill a void in her life and

how her ex-boyfriend broke up with her. I was just about ready to give up when

this beautiful girl walked in. I thought she was going to be just like the others un-

til she plopped down all her information. She was a head cheerleader in high

school and graduated at the top of her class. She said she just needed the job to

pay her college loans. I hired and I was happy that I did.

March 25th

2009

This morning we got our cheese and all was well. Later that day a man finished

his burger then walked out without his briefcase. We tried to get it back to him

but he had already driven away. My co-workers and I decided to open the case.

The password was really simple. It was 12345. As we opened the case we see

Page 10: Jonathan M

MONEY. Money everywhere. We counted it up and it added up to a whopping 2.5

million dollars. I went up to my boss threw my hat at him and quit. I thought I was

going to be a millionaire. As I went to put my money in the bank they told me it

was fake. My life was ruined. I tried to get my job back but they had already hired

the annoying blonde chick and that old dude. Now I’m a homeless man on the

street. Here’s my lesson is to never take a case filled with money. It’ll ruin your

life

One night in the jungle Bob the mouse and Sammy the lion de-

cided to hang out. Bob and Sammy have been friends since they were little tots

and told each other everything. But this night Sammy told Bob the biggest secret

ever. Sammy told Bob that he doesn’t know how to hunt even though he’s the

most feared lion in all the jungle. That shocked Bob. Bob was so excited to know

this secret that he told everyone.

The next morning Sammy went outside, but all the animals were staring at him.

All of a sudden the animals burst into laughter and Sammy heard someone say he

couldn’t hunt. Sammy dashes to Bob and asks if he told the secret. Bob admits

and they start to fight. Sammy felt his whole life was terrible and ran to his jungle

home. Bob felt bad and decided to apologize and help, but the door was so strong

only a lion could open. Bob pulled and pulled but the door wouldn’t budge.

“Away with you mouse!” called the lion from inside the home.

“I’m sorry the Mouse squeaked through the crack.

“Then why don’t you say that to my face?” the lion said while he pushed the

door open.

An evil smirk crossed the lions face but before Bob saw it he was scooped into

Sammy’s paws.

“This will teach you to tell my secrets!” said Sammy.

The lion threw the mouse up into his mouth and swallowed.

FOOTBALL IS THE BEST SPORT INVENTED. To PLAY YOU HAVE TO BE TALL AND BUFF’

YOU ALSO HAVE TO BE VERY SMART. PLAYERS HAVE TO EAT UP TO 10,000

CALORIES A DAY. THE BALL IS NOT ROUND, IT IS MORE OF

AN OVAL SHAPE.

THE 49ERS ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFL.
