May 2018jccnews.com4 Easter & Lifestyles

By Vickie DixonCheck Into CashReconcilement SpecialistCleveland, TN—This is not the most exciting news in the world, but I recently discovered the meal planning site called 5 Dinners In 1 Hour and it has completely changed my life.

“You hold a full-time job, co-host a podcast and do ‘research’ to go with that, hold together your boys (hus-band and our near-ly 6-year-old son), main-tain your home, exercise, and man-age to get dinner on the table by 6:30 every night. What is your secret?”

To answer your question, my secret is 5dinners1hour.com. You pay a small price for the service, which gives you forty meals to choose from each month. From the options, you choose your din-ners, add them to your menu, and the website prints out a grocery list of exactly what you need to make those meals, as well as the recipes and how to prep each item.

We have gone from eating a ton of garbage foods and spending tons of money on fast food, frozen foods, and foods full of preserva-tives to eating home-cooked meals

CHOW TIME ON THE QUICK

every night, usually with enough for Zac (my husband) and I to each have lunch the next day.

Between Food City and Walmart’s grocery pickup, I spend less than $100 dollars each week to feed my family of four (my mother-in-law recently moved in with us) and we are eating much healthier! All I do is make up my grocery list, set pickup for Sunday

afternoon, and start prepping my meals Sunday

e v e n i n g . S o m e -times it

takes a lit-tle more than an

hour to get the meals prepped (I’m

getting faster as I get used to it), but the feeling of ac-complishment I have once every-thing is ready for the week and the completely stress-free evenings I have now since I just throw things into the oven when I get home instead of having to think about what’s for dinner has made it com-pletely worth it!

This may not be a big deal to anyone, but it has saved my sani-ty and given me more time to just breathe and enjoy my family. I just wanted to share with my Jones Management family, because I’d still be stressing dinner if a friend hadn’t told me about the plan!

Chattanooga, TN—It is confirmed—my daughter-in-law, Danielle Por-ter, is going to be a 9-1-1 operator for Hamilton County. They picked her and nine others out of four hundred applicants. I am so proud of her.

Before she gets started, Danielle has to train in 911 emergencies, po-lice dispatch, and fire dispatch. Here’s a picture at Danielle’s recent grad-uation from Chattanooga State Community College, with me (right) and my son, Trever.

By Kristin NelsonCheck Into Cash Director of AccountingCleveland, TN—My daughter, Landri Nelson, is on a fastpitch softball team, Diamond Sports Hotshots Premier–Tennessee that was invited to join the top forty teams in the nation to compete at the top level of fastpitch softball in the Premier Girls Fastpitch National Cham-

pionships in Huntington Beach, California this July! This tournament is invitation only, so it is a huge honor to be invited. Landri’s

team has regular players from Nashville to Atlanta and we have players from Texas and Florida who travel to play in our bigger events. At this competition, they will be competing against teams from all over the country.

The Tennessee/Georgia/Alabama area of the country is home to some of the top softball programs in the country. The last two out of three years, this tour-nament was won by a team based out of Tennessee.

We are very happy to have dedicated parents who are making this happen for the girls. It takes a lot of fundraising and work to take a trip to California.

In fastpitch softball, girls are being recruited by colleges as early as sixth grade! This is a huge opportunity to put our girls in front of major college

coaches before they start their recruiting journey next year. One of the girls from the team that won last year (Fury 2024 from Tennessee) has a player that just committed as a sixth grader to the University of Florida.

The team was ranked in the top twelve in the country in the preseason ranking.

Submitted by Debby FieldsCheck Into Cash Center 2045 (1400 North Wayne Street, An-gola, INDistrict 2.4 Trainer Manager)“I could add a lot of stuff to the ar-ticle, but I wouldn’t know where to start,” said Check Into Cash District 2.4 Manager Wayne Hen-drickson, who happens to be the proud father of Haylie.

So without further ado, here is an article about Haylie that was published in a recent issue of The Journal Gazette.

When Homestead graduate Haylie Hendrickson tore her ACL just weeks after signing her nation-al letter of intent to Arizona’s gym-nastics program, the coaching staff gave her nothing but support.

A second tear her freshman year meant a shift in Hendrickson’s role as she got acclimated to the collegiate environment.

Since then, Hendrickson, now a junior, has surpassed where she was out of high school and is a major contributor to the Wild-cats, who played host to the Pac-12 championships.

“Coming in hurt and getting hurt again my freshman year helped me de-

for the Yankees. Playing baseball takes lots of time and dedication, and it’s very excit-

ing when you see them out in the fields, running those bases, and taking the other team out!

velop more as a teammate than an athlete so I could actually figure out how to be a part of a team,” Hendrickson said. “Since I’ve come back, skill wise, I’ve cleaned up a lot. My form is a lot better and I have a double layout dismount on bars which is new for me and I’ve gotten a triple series on beam. I’m still currently coming back on floor and vault.”

Hendrickson is averaging scores of 9.8 on bars and beam with the addition of floor on a consistent basis and vault on the agen-da for next sea-son.

“It’s hard just because I had to take off two and a half or three years just be-cause of the proximity of my injuries,” she said. “It’s relearning all my stuff so I have my techniques so I can get used to the landings. I actually did compete floor once this year but next year, I hope to do all-around next year.”

Out of high school, Hendrickson chose Arizona over Ken-

tucky, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri.

“We felt like she could be a very successful collegiate gym-nast,” coach John Court said. “She had a high skill level but had a lot of room to grow and she was a very good student and a great person. We had the person that we wanted, we had the student that we wanted,

she was a leader of the gym club so we knew

we had the teammate that we wanted and we had

the gymnast that we wanted. We knew what she could do and how far she could go.”

With twenty-hour training weeks, traveling to away meets, rehab efforts, and a gradual return to competi-tion, Hendrickson learned and

grew.“She took that opportuni-

ty,” Court said. “She learned about the sport, she was able to watch the sport col-

legiately and know what she had to do and understand

how hard she had to work with rehab and strength to get back to the level she was at. Certainly

happy to say she’s back to the level of where she was at in club and she’s pushed beyond that right now.”

Last season, Hendrick-

son was able to compete on beam at the conference championship at Stanford, scoring 9.775.

Being able to host the event this year should help with the over-all comfort level of the arena and the crowd.

“We’re all super excited,” Hen-drickson said. “We’re all pretty close to our seniors so they’re ex-cited. It definitely helps us with the home advantage and it’s awesome that we’re going to get a lot of fans.”

The number thirty-sev-en-ranked Wildcats are on the bubble to advance to the NCAA Regional, which takes the nation’s top thirty-six teams.

In a conference that has six ranked teams—UCLA (number three), Utah (four), Washington (eight), California (ten), Ore-gon State (eleven), and Arizona State (seventeen)—that makes the championship even more import-ant to string together twenty-four routines to move up in the rank-ings.

“We’re a bubble team but we can worry about what goes on (to-day),” Court said. “We can’t put our minds anywhere else. I think the most important thing for us is to have a great meet. We have to go out there and perform and stick (our routines).”

May 2018jccnews.com6 Overcome

By V. Janine PashleyCheck Into CashInternal AuditorCleveland, TN—On April 12, 2014 I lost my Mom. She suffered an aortic rupture, and although great effort was made by the hospital staff, she did not survive. In a matter of hours, she was gone.

It was the single worst day of my life. My mom and I were very close—in fact, she was my best friend. I didn’t know how I would survive, but with support from family and faith in God, I have.

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of her, miss her, and wish I could spend time with her again. I felt like I was cheated out of my time with her.

After deep feelings of sadness, I be-came angry. Angry that she was gone and there was nothing I could do about it.

The lesson I have learned is that we

By Kelly WamboldCheck Into Cash Center 5002 (9348 State Road)ManagerOnalaska, WI—In 1983, I lost my son Jonathon to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Then in June of 2001, my youngest son, Josh, died at the age of 16 when he was shot by one of his friends. Two years later, my oldest son, Jesse, had a horrible truck accident. He laid in the burn unit for forty-six days in Salt Lake City, Utah. While there, he almost died three times, and he lost his left hand in the process.

Speaking as a parent who has lost children, it’s one of the hardest things to imagine. You never get over it. You relive that day over and over—especially during the anniversary of the death.

Through all of this, I learned to live each day as if it’s my last day. We should be ready to offer a smile, lend an ear, help someone in need. The biggest thing I learned is that I should be kinder. I am a strong person, and I asked God to carry my burden when I no longer could do it.

Losing not one but two boys has made me the woman I am today—a stronger, kinder old lady. People say I am a rock and am a very reliable person. I’m a firm believer that what comes around goes around.

As I write this, I’m sitting here crying, because I didn’t necessarily overcome my tragedies. I learned how to deal with them and to move on and not let them get me down.

By Tyler MoorhouseLoan By PhoneCustomer Service Representa-tive–OriginationsCleveland, TN—I’ve dealt with depression of varying severity since my teens. A few years ago, I decided to finally get help. I ap-proached management at work, asking for resources that would be covered by our insurance as I had never sought any sort of help. They were very helpful.

Another big help was with time off. At the time, I was helping with training for Loan By Phone and was approaching the yearly point where I needed to use my vacation time or lose it. However, I still had a training class to work with that would roll through that time. I’ve always been pretty bad about using my vacation up on time, and at that point had a full week that needed to be taken off.

My depression was getting to me and I was assured that the va-cation time would not be an issue.

By Elayne GordyCheck Into Cash OnlineCompliance Analyst Cleveland, TN—The most gut-wrenching year of my life was 2016. During that year, almost every month brought a new and painful challenge. In no particular order, the following happened to me and my family in 2016:

• I had two surgeries to remove cancerous moles from my face.

• One of my beloved dogs died suddenly.

• In the four months between July and November, my father, mother, only brother (age 55), and two lifelong friends (also in their 50s) all died.

• And finally, in December, af-ter a series of baffling health issues, I was diagnosed with lupus.

All of this pain could have—and nearly did—crush me and my sisters. But I learned that hope does indeed float and that grief is not something you can overcome. Rather, grief changes you and you must allow that change.

With the help and support of my remaining family—including my awesome work family here at CIC, a wonderful grief counselor, and above all, dependence on my faith in the Lord, I’ve been able to keep functioning and stay at least semi-sane.

There are many more, but here are a few of the Bible verses that help me when the pain and loss of grief are overwhelming.

“You keep track of all my sor-rows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have re-corded each one in your book.”—Psalm 56:8

“The Lord is close to the bro-kenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”—Psalm 34:18

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”—Mat-thew 5:4

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.”—Isaiah 43:2

Finally, a few lines from a poem called “Ye Wearie Wayfarer” (which we all are) by Australian poet Adam Lindsay Gordon:

“Life is mainly froth and bub-ble/Two things stand like stone/Kindness in another’s trouble/Courage in your own.”

Thanks to all of my work fam-ily for their prayers, support, and friendship.

GROWING THROUGH PAINSObstacles. Challenges. Hardships. Live long enough and you’ll face plenty. Keep your eyes open and those experiences can actually change you, mold you, prepare you for the next thing coming down the road. Here are the stories of a few hardships your Jones Companies family members have been through and how they came out on the other side.

Janine’s mother

never know when someone we love will be gone. It can happen in an instant, and we just don’t know how life will play out. Therefore, we must embrace the people we love and let them know how we feel because they can be gone before we know it.

I was fortunate to have my mom for the time that I did. We were close. We talked daily and spent as much time as possible together. I’m so very thank-ful for that—that I never took her for granted. I don’t have any regrets. She was my best friend—my rock, and she knew how much I loved her. Best of all, I know how much she loved me.

Life can move fast. Things happen that we never expect. We should all take the time with those we love and be with them as much as we can. Be sure that when things happen you have no regret.

Director of Customer Communi-cations Jon Diedrich helped ensure it would be no problem to get the time off and encouraged me to take the time I needed. So I scheduled for two weeks to use the built-up time and to take from my upcom-ing vacation time.

After psychologist and psychi-atrist visits, I learned that aside from me being a bit neurotic and prone to worrying, the bulk of my problems were from an imbalance. I was diagnosed with major depres-sive disorder/unipolar depression.

I’ve been on prescription anti-depressants for the last few years and they have made a huge differ-ence in my life. I’m glad I finally decided to address my problems and I’m thankful for my employer working with me. I definitely feel like people write off their problems and I would encourage anyone to seek professional help or at least be as open as possible with whomev-er they may be most comfortable. And remember that while a friend,

relative, or significant other may be glad to listen and be as supportive as possible, please don’t turn down the possibility that professional help may be needed.

Whether it be panic attacks or whatever, your mental health is something worth discussing and worth caring about. There is a stig-ma around mental health issues, when the simple truth is that we all have our own struggles and you should never be made to feel that your issues are inconsequential. Your mental health is absolutely as important as your physical health and often has a direct impact on it as well.

While I have nothing to prove and do not feel anyone should have to produce bona fides regarding mental health issues in order to be taken seriously, I will gladly speak candidly and in detail if there are any questions regarding my con-dition/struggles. The discussion is very important.

Tyler’s support system, from left: “My friend Amanda is great at getting me out of the house. Tanya is always there if I need someone to talk to and usually drags me off on some adventure. Brandon is one of the nicest people I know and always makes sure I’m doing all right. Blake also works here at LBP and was great about checking up on me and getting me to go out back when I was really struggling. And of course my dog Major Tom is a pretty big help when I’m feeling down.”

By Tonya BrownBuy Here Pay Here USACollector Cleveland, TN—In 2003, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer type 52b. I was told that it’s the worst kind of cancer for women. My doctor told me that the can-cer has four stages and I was in the fourth.

All that I could think of was my kids. My son’s father passed away in April of 1999 from brain cancer and when I was diagnosed, my daughter was an eighth grader. I told my mom to not tell them, but it was too late. She had told them both.

I started chemo the next week and then radiation therapy. Over the next few weeks, I underwent six chemotherapy and twenty-five radiation sessions. Then in May of 2003 they shot radiation as strong as they could at the tumor for three days.

When I went to prep for the treatment, I was shaking like a leaf. The nurse told me she would go get me a relaxer. Then I looked up and said, “God, in your word you said you would never leave me, but I could leave you. I did not leave—where are you?” Then I felt the wind blow. I looked up and saw the most beautiful being. And then a baritone voice said, “I am here.”

The being before me had wings that swept across me, and my body became as calm as if I were asleep. For the next three days after radiation, I was in isolation. Since the radiation was so strong, they would not let anyone stay with me for more than five minutes. It didn’t matter too much, because I was on morphine and did not know anyone was there anyway.

Fast forward to this May, when I will be cancer-free for fifteen years! I always participate in Relay as I want a cure for this deadly disease. Although I still have some side effects, I praise God for my healing and I love to share my journey with others because you never know what your testimony can do for others.

Tonya and her mother, who served as Tonya’s care-giver while Tonya underwent cancer treatment.

By Vickie DixonCheck Into CashReconcilement SpecialistCleveland, TN—It may sound melodramatic, but I’ve managed to overcome my upbringing.

I have a story that’s similar to millions of others. My mother and father split when I was an infant. My mom then went from relationship to relationship with men who did not have their own lives together and certainly didn’t have any business playing dad to a couple kids.

We moved frequently. Any time my bipolar brother brought too much attention to us and Child Protective Services started sniffing around or we came home to an eviction notice, it was time to move. Time for a “new adventure.” I attended countless elemen-tary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools. I ran with a bad crowd. I was surrounded by addicts, alcoholics, and mentally ill individuals who refused to stay on their medication.

It would have been so easy to buckle. To pick up a couple bad habits and waste my life away.

But I’m really stubborn. Living a life that was so incredibly pov-erty stricken gave me a thirst for success that can’t be quenched. I’m not sure when I’ll be satisfied with my lot in life. I’ve been with CIC since early 2015. I think it may actually count as a career at this point. I own a decent house in a decent neighborhood where I’m not concerned about the safety of my things. I have a great husband and our child is super rad. On a lot of different levels, I know that I’ve succeeded, but I’m not There yet. I’m determined to keep furthering myself so I can eventually get wherever There is.

By Melissa SicaCheck Into CashInternal Auditor/Call Monitoring Cleveland, TN—You never know how strong you’re until you are in a situation that exposes what you’re made of. For me, it was the birth of my fourth child.

Up to this point in our lives, we had three children—a 7-year-old girl and two boys, ages 5 and 3.

Before my husband went to work, I told him that today, during which I had my last prenatal visit with the midwife at her house in Athens, Tennessee, might be the day. And it was.

My older children were with me and we talked about what we would do after the appointment. As you would expect, everyone had something different they wanted to do.

The midwife checked me and said that the baby has a head full of hair and that I was so ready and suggested that I go to the mall and walk around. That got the kids excited that we might go to the mall and window shop.

Well, the mall would have to wait.On the way home from the midwife visit, I start having contractions. (Side

note: It is possible to drive while having contractions, but I don’t recommend it. I thought for sure I was going to break the steering wheel.) When I announced that we would not be going to the mall, the children were disappointed, but I provided a diversion: food.

Thankfully, that worked. We talked about food all the way home, the kids making great plans of what they wanted to eat while I white-knuckled the steer-ing wheel. I had already prepared three weeks of meals, because I wasn’t going to slave away my time in the kitchen cooking after having a baby. I’d made it where all someone had to do was take what they wanted out of the freezer and warm it up. There were burgers, lasagna, hot dogs—basic kid foods. One of those meals was waffles.

By the time we got home, they had forgotten all about the mall and were knocking themselves over to get in the house and get at those waffles! I gave instructions to my oldest to feed the boys as much as they want and I went into the bedroom.

Then I called the midwife to tell her of my contractions. She said if I could talk through them, I’d be okay until she got there and not to worry. I hung up and immediately called my husband to tell him what was going on. But it was too late. He should have stayed home. To make a long story short, labor

was fifty-six minutes, and I gave birth to my 7-pound 11-ounce 22-inch-long daughter, Hannah, by myself. My older children each weighed 8 pounds, so I was glad for the break. I guess I was stronger than I thought.

Shortly after the birth, the midwife showed up. Just in time to clean up.

On April 29, Hannah will be sweet 16, and she’s perfect in ev-ery way.

We had another child three years later, and this time everyone was present.

God is good.

Florida Keys, FL—My family and I took a weekend trip to the Florida Keys and my son, Draven, loved it! We passed through the Everglades and saw so many alligators, and the weather was lovely.

This was Draven’s second trip to the beach, but the first time he was actually able to enjoy and remember it.

A TRIP TO REMEMBER

BOOK REVIEW: ONE OF US IS LYINGBy Casey VillanuevaCheck Into Cash OnlineCSR CollectionsCleveland, TN—If you are a fan of The Breakfast Club movie you may be drawn to this book like I was. On a trip to Barnes & Noble to look for a new book to read, I stum-bled upon this book that looks to mirror The Breakfast Club movie. This book is a good read and you will find yourself looking at similarities with The Breakfast Club movie, yet find that it’s nothing like it as well. This book is a good murder mystery with a twist most won’t see com-ing.

It is a good read I couldn’t put it down! I would recom-mend it to anyone.

Congrats to Rowena,

May’s $50winner!

9013 (2531-K East Whitmore Ave)Crees, CA—Congratulations to Leticia, our Team Mem-

as a Customer Service Representative and gained Check Into Cash knowledge each step of the way to becoming Center Manager.

Using her exceptional customer service skills and awesome col-lection skills, she produces great numbers. She understands that great customer service and awesome collection skills equal a successful, fun center. In 2017, Leticia ended the year with a gross Margin of 46% and 11.7% charge-off. She runs her cen-ter like she owns it and takes pride in her center. She is also an example of profession-al dress. She is always dressed and ready to go! She is a great exam-ple as a leader with her team.

Leticia has an awesome upbeat personali-ty. The relationship she has with her customers is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Working in her center is a blast. The laughing and chatting it up with the customers is a lot of fun. She knows all of them and they know her.

Outside of Check Into Cash, Leticia is a mom, grandma, and wife. She juggles it all and does a great job with all of her roles. We are blessed in District 9.0 to have her on our team. She helps everyone and is always willing to jump in and do whatever it takes. Thanks for being you, Leticia!

From the EastAshley Smith, Manager of Check

Into Cash Center 6030 (2053 Woodville Road)

Oregon, OH—Ashley came to us at a young age three years ago. She was deter-mined to prove that she had what it takes to be successful with Check Into Cash, regard-less of her age. And, let me tell you, she has done just that.

Over the course of the three years that I have had Ashley in my district, she has been nothing short of a huge asset to 6.0! Most re-cently, she was involved in the mentor pro-gram here in Ohio.

She is always willing to be flexible and help wherever needed. She is dedicated, re-liable, confident, and most of all, friendly.

She always has a smile on her face. The customers absolutely love working with her and she loves building relationships with them.

Ashley started out as a Customer Service Rep-resentative for Center

6021, then became an Assistant Man-ager with the training and mentoring her

provided.As of January

2017, Ashley was pro-moted to Center Manag-

er of 6030, and we couldn’t be any more proud of her. She took over with goals in place and is on track to achieve and exceed those goals set in 2018 like she did in 2017!

Speaking of goals, Ashley gives us all a run for our money. She keeps us all on our toes. Ashley is always eager to study, know, and work her numbers! She wants to know at all times where she stands and how much further she needs to go!

It has been a pure pleasure watching Ashley grow and I can’t wait to continue this journey alongside her.

MARTHA’S WORLD By Martha-Lee WomacCheck Into Cash Pawn of TNInternal Auditor

What’s going on in Martha’s life these days? Find out below!

Cleveland, TN—Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Daisy Mae!

Cleveland, TN—March 23, 2018. First thing: Grandson in tow, I stop at CVS to print up some

pictures—or think that I do anyways. I throw trash away from my grandson in the trash can.

Second thing: Zeb, my grandson, suddenly wants to go to the bathroom.

Third thing: I am thinking at this point, where is my cell phone? Well...I go ahead and proceed to print my pictures.

Fourth thing: The pictures won’t print. CVS staff members con-tinue trying to see what the issue may be. Zeb decides to want to go to the bathroom...again. I then think to myself, “Where are my keys?” Well, I don’t see them, and as Zeb goes in the bathroom, I think to myself, “Let me check my camera bag, and there are my keys inside of the camera bag, right? Some excitement, right?” As I get my keys, my $1,200 camera falls to the floor. The picture will show what happened with my camera. I’m crying at this point.

Fifth thing: I go back to check about my pictures, and the gentle-man after me had already received his photos, but somehow, mine had a communication error and did not print! I had to go back to the process of choosing what pictures to print.

Sixth thing: I am thinking to myself, “Where is my cell phone?” I go out to my car and the charger is unplugged! Now, where is my cell phone? I decide to track my steps backward to the start of this big journey, and I am thinking to myself, “I threw trash away!” I peep inside the trashcan and sure enough, there is my phone!

Then, a big cry inside of the car for a while. I then think, “It is time for a drink—no, not liquor, but a drink from Starbucks.”

End results: What a day!

Cleveland, TN—Here’s my nephew, Bentley, at 3 months of age. I think he looks like he is posing for a photo session!

Have a few free minutes and need to get your blood flowing? If you don’t, your body will suffer the consequences. Thankfully, you don’t have to climb on the treadmill for half an hour to ensure good health.

While working out in the gym regularly will help your long-term health, it’s equally important to take time throughout the day to move your body. In fact, research has

How can you increase your exercise time while keeping your job? Easy. With a few quick breaks throughout the day. And if you’re looking for something you can pull off in your work space and only look slight-

JOE WON’T BUDGESubmitted by Ellie St. PierreCheck Into CashExecutive Administrative Assistant

And now, for something to tickle your funny bone...

An old man lay sprawled across three entire seats in the movie theatre.

When the usher came by and no-ticed this, he whispered to the old man, “Sorry sir, but you’re only allowed one seat.”

The old man didn’t budge. The usher became more impatient:

“Sir, if you don’t get up from there I’m going to have to call the manager.”

Once again, the old man just mut-tered and did nothing.

The usher marched briskly back up the aisle, and in a moment he returned with the manager.

Together, the two of them tried re-peatedly to move the man, but with no success.

Finally, they summoned the police. The officer surveyed the situation

briefly then asked, “All right buddy, what’s your name?”

“Joe,” the old man moaned.“Where are you from, Joe?” asked

the police officer. With a terrible strain in his voice,

and without moving, Joe replied, “The balcony.”

HERE COMES BABY!

By Deana LinkousCheck Into CashDistrict 1.2 ManagerTennessee—Let me introduce you to the light of my life, my beautiful granddaughter Rylee Jayne Conkin. She was born at 8:56 p.m. on March 15, 2018. She weighed in at 8 pounds 7 ounces and measured 21 and 1/2 inches long. My daughter, Emilee Conklin, has become such a good lit-tle momma, and I’m so proud of her and her husband, Jay Conkin.

Funny note, my daughter was just 14 months old when I started with Check Into Cash and now she has one of her own. Crazy how time flies!

By Brandy HitsonCheck Into CashWest Region Collection Account Manager Asheville, NC—To celebrate our fifteen-year wedding anniversa-ry, which was on March 22, Jason (Hitson, CIC Mailroom Manag-er) and I took a trip to Asheville and Hot Springs, North Carolina. From the hurricane force winds of Max Patch (and me crushing my Costa glasses) and the mineral water soak in Hot Springs to me almost breaking a leg on the Appalachian Trail to the Soja con-cert and some shopping, local eats, and breweries in between, the weekend in Asheville was a blast!

Though we didn’t make it out on the town for St. Patty’s cele-bration since I couldn’t walk, it was still an awesome trip.

The picture is of us atop Max Patch for a beautiful mountain sunset at the start of our trip.

FUN IN THE COLDParadise, CA—We decided to take some time to just play in the snow. Our 1990 Toyota 4Runner is unstoppable with its 49-inch tires and flat belly with the 22RE engine swap. The kids, Anthony and Annebella, always have a blast!

What’s next for Peggy?Well, if you know her well, you could probably guess what she’s looking

forward to doing: gazing at cows and reading every book she can get her hands on.

Enjoy retirement!
