This summer, José was one of 68 of our kids that were able to attend church camp. Thanks to the generosity of a group of kids at a week of camp at High Hill Christian Camp and the VBS program from Bethel Bible Church in Evergreen Park, Illinois, for making this happen..

The kids had a great time and were challenged in their faith in Christ. Several of the young people made decisions to give their lives more fully to Christ. One of our young people was baptized! Welcome to the family, Jose!

In July we had an evening to honor the accomplishments of the children who graduated and moved on to the next level of education! What a celebration it was!

All the Niños family was present along with a group from the US, one of the Niños board members, and a member of the Mexican board. As each student's name was called, they walked to the front of the room and received a recognition from the organization. Everyone applauded them as they walked to the front table to be greeted by myself, our field director and the members of our two boards. You could see and feel their excitement as they were recognized for their hard work that led to this day!

Each one of the kids has a story of how God has helped them to achieve this new level in their lives. Please continue to pray for each of these students as they adjust to the next level of education.

This year, one of our newer additions, Allison, graduated from Kindergarten, 11 kids graduated from primary school, eight graduated from secondary school, and three from prepa (high school).

I want to focus on the three young men who have finished their prepa studies and who are preparing to

enter a university to continue their studies.

Kevin Lopez from Casa de Niños graduated on June 27th. He is enrolled in a public university in San Luis Potosi where he is studying marketing. We are proud of Kevin's hard work and success. He has been with us since July 2015. He came from an impoverished area of Oaxaca with a need for help in his education.

Juan Gallegos from the boys' dorm graduated on July 4th. We are proud of Juan and his effort to succeed. He is enrolled in a university where he will be able to study to be an architect in interior design.

He and his five brothers and sisters have been a part of the Niños

family since 2001. Juan has been a part of the worship teams at two of the local churches for several years.

Benito Jimenez, also from the boys' dorm, graduated on July 14th. He enrolled in a nearby university where he is studying business administration. We praise God for Benito and for his hard work through the years. He has been a part of the Niños family since 2003.

Benito has been actively leading worship in the Texcoco church plant, Expansion Cristiana, for several years.

It is exciting to see their progress. And I want you to know that YOU ARE A KEY PART of their progress.

Thank you for partnering for the long haul so that we can see long-term changes in these kids' futures!

This ministry is supported by some very special people – each and every one of you! When we look at everything that is accomplished and the lives that are changed, we see SPECTACULAR RESULTS! That couldn’t happen without the help we receive from our faithful supporters. This is what that looks like.

This is Kieran Hale as she presents a special check for $1,000 to the Bethel House. She was able to visit Niños de Mexico as part of a short-term mission trip for the first time this year. This young lady has been collecting money in the lobby of Tomoka Christian Church in Ormond Beach, Florida for a number of years now. What a special heart she has for our girls at Bethel!

Compass Christian Church held the “Day of Hope” golf tournament and raised $48,000.00! This money has been extremely helpful in helping us to complete several remodels of our homes this summer. Compass has a special team of volunteers that gave many hours to help with this event. Niños de Mexico is the recipient of the proceeds every three years. (See the list of completed projects in the "Groups Brought Their Sweat Equity..." page inside of the newsletter insert.)

A group from Sheldon Church of Christ in Wisconsin gave an extra gift of over $3,000 that enabled the church plant in Chilapa to finish the second story of their church. The funds were also used to buy land and a building in the nearby village of Libertad for a church!

New Horizons Christian Church in Heyworth, Illinois raised money through their VBS program and other special gifts so we could buy new stoves. Their goal was to raise enough to buy one commercial stove but they raised enough for two! Over $3,800.00. New Horizons came on a STM trip for the first time this year. We are looking forward to having them back again in the future.

These are just a few examples of what it looks like when our Christian brothers and sisters have a heart for the work of Niños de Mexico. We appreciate ALL of the extra effort that our supporters give. It turns into SPECTACULAR RESULTS for the Kingdom!

Why does a Christian have a will? Much of the literature circulated in our churches and charitable organizations will lead you to believe that every Christian is obligated to have a will. To die without a will means that property will be distributed according to law, and that may be more costly. This is true. But this is a reason for everyone to have a will, not just a Christian.

The motivation for a Christian to have a will is rooted in deep spiritual tradition. It is based on the understanding that an important part of a Christian lifestyle is a relationship to God and the property that He has entrusted to us.

The earth in all of its fullness belongs to God. As Christians, He has entrusted property to us as His caretakers, trustees, stewards. We are charged with a sacred trust. How we manage that trust during our lifetimes and distribute the trust assets at the time of death are important parts of our spiritual lifestyles.

Stewardship is not simply giving a percentage of our income. Financial stewardship can be defined as “using God-given abilities, to manage God-owned properties, to accomplish God- ordained results.” Therefore, every financial decision becomes a spiritual decision, including the distribution of property at the time of death.

We would be honored to help you with wise estate planning strategies.

welcome to our new physicianWe are excited to announce that Corrie Glenn, a nurse practitioner from Deer Park, Washington and his family have joined our staff to serve in the medical area treating our children and staff.

Corrie and Romina have visited several times over the past 10 years working alongside Dr. Noe.

Corrie had practiced medicine on a reservation near Deer Park for many years.

They spent the last week of August and the first week of September getting settled into their new home on the Genesis campus as well as setting up the clinic to begin working with our children.

There are so many things that are different about serving in Mexico - language - traffic - how long it takes to do common things - names of medicines - etc... Please keep them in your prayers as they transition into their new service here at Niños.

julie copp joins the niños staffThis summer Julie Copp joined our staff to work with our young people in the area of spiritual growth. We have seen such a strong need for additional support in this area, particularly among the young ladies that are growing up here at Niños.

Julie spent 5 months with us last year and felt God calling her to return to invest in the lives of the children here at Niños.

Please keep Julie in your prayers as she heads to Puebla to continue to work on her Spanish and then as she settles into her new role in this new ministry area!

This year, we were blessed to have 15 groups join us in Mexico to work on our homes. I really believe that as a whole, our homes

haven’t looked better! There is a lot to do to keep up on all of the maintenance of our facilities, as well as the continuing work to improve our facilities for our kids and staff.

Groups are able to do so much with a paintbrush and a couple of rollers! They have helped us to improve the look of all of our homes through the years – and this year is no exception. They are helping to make them more comfortable for our children and staff.

Due to the tremors that constantly hit our area, there are fissures that develop in the concrete roofs. So our groups help seal our roofs to protect the homes from the rains.

The work accomplished always depends on the talents that each group brings. We are thankful for each one and praise God for each person and their willingness to sacrifice their time, energy, and money to come bless the children!

We are also thankful for Joel Beck, a carpenter from Carl Junction, Missouri, who raised support to be able to come down for 7-1/2 weeks this summer to help us work in a variety of our homes using his carpentry skills on doors, closets, kitchens, drywall to create bedrooms, etc.

Beyond the maintenance and construction work projects we had a group that focused on educational training for our houseparents and teachers, and another group that trained our houseparents and worked with creating historical photo albums with all of the children in the homes.

THANK YOU to each group and church who participated with us this year to bless the ministry. Your contribution is so valuable!

We are excited to announce that we received eight new children in June, plus two new sibling groups in July! Adding new children to the family is always exciting and also challenging. Everyone has to make adjustments - from the houseparents and the children already in the home – to each of the children who arrive to make Niños their new home! The children arrived after they had finished their school year allowing them to be ready to start their next year of school in mid-August.We are thankful for the opportunity to be able to minister and serve these eight kids and looking forward to developing a new relationship with the state Division of Family Services. Please keep them in your prayers as they transition into their new families and prepare for school. Please pray for the spiritual battle that these children will face as Satan has lost some of his power in their lives. They are now in a place where they will hear the Word of God and will be challenged to follow Jesus Christ! Lastly, please pray for new HUGS sponsors who will step up to personally care for these young lives. The kids who presently call Niños home number 81.
